BMW Progressive Activity Sedan coming to Frankfurt in 2009

BMW CEO Norbert Reithofer confirmed that BMW is working on a Progressive Activity Sedan (PAS) during his Strategic Realignment speech back in September 2007. Since then the BMW PAS has been spotted numerous times testing in Munich.

According to Auto Motor und Sport, the BMW PAS will make its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2009 and will go on sales shortly after. Expect to see more spy shots of the model being tested with heavy camouflage.

BMW says that the PAS is BMW’s own interpretation of the sedan. It will get a big tailgate and will be reminiscent of a BMW X6. Length wise, the BMW PAS will measure 4.90 meters meaning it will be longer than the X6. The technicals are said to come from the new 7-Series and 5-Series range. Unlike the X6, all-wheel-drive will be optional.
