Chrysler to reveal Dodge Challenger drag-racing version

The late 1960’s Hemi Dart and Barracuda will influence a drag-racing version of the new Dodge Challenger. At the 2007 SEMA Auto Show, a Challenger drag-racing package was shown with the third-generation of the HEMI engine.

According to Chrysler spokeswoman Patricia Georgevich who spoke with InsideLine, the drag-racing package for the new Dodge Challenger will officially debut later this summer around July. Chrysler is working with National Hot Rod Association to work out the components for racing use.

Pricing and the number of units to be produced will be announced closer to launch.
