It’s the best of both worlds here. Brembo, manufacturer of braking systems for premium cars, and Pininfarina, famous car design firm and coachbuilder, are talking about the possibility of Brembo buying into the Italian design company.
Brembo’s chairman, Alberto Bombassei, told reporters today that he held talks with the bosses at Pininfarina about the possibility of buying into the company and contract manufacturer.
“For the moment, I can’t say anything,” Alberto Bombassei told reporters. “We spoke. But I honestly think that they have done it with many others. There will be an announcement tomorrow. My name could be part of it.”
Pininfarina is looking for a capital increase and has invited investor’s such as Vincent Bollore from France and Ratan Tata of Tata Motors. The company is looking to raise around 100 million euros through a capital increase by the middle of 2008 in an attempt to restructure and revive its flagging business.
