GM expects its growth to come from Saturn

Saturn executives told dealers that GM expects much of its growth over the next five years to come from the Saturn brand. Saturn has slightly increased its sales goal for 2008, much of which will come from new products like the Aura Sedan, Outlook crossover and the new Saturn Astra.

Saturn has had a 12.6 percent increase in sales from 2006 to 2007 leading to a retailer profitability growth of 24 percent.

“We’ve got momentum on our side,” said Jill Lajdziak, Saturn’s general manager.

Lajdziak said that by the end of this month Saturn dealers will get the new Astra hatchback. He said that Saturn will also launch a Two-Mode hybrid Vue and is working on getting a plug-in version for the Vue by 2010.
