Details on the new 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL 63 AMG weren’t supposed to be officially posted later this week, but many sites have already leaked images and details on the new facelifted model after it popped up Mercedes’ AMG site. Based on the new 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class, the new SL 63 AMG gets a new front fascia and other elements that give it a more aggressive appeal.
The SL 63 AMG gets a new AMG designed bonnet, spoiler lip, air outlets in the front apron, a high-gloss black radiator grille, darkened bi-xenon headlamps and darkened taillamps, an AMG sport exhaust system with twin chromeplated tailpipes and 19-inch alloy wheels.
Power comes from a 6.3 liter V8 engine that produces 525hp mated with an AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission. AMG also added a 3-stage ESP (ON/SPORT/OFF), a high-performance AMG braking system, an AMG sports suspension and new AMG speed-sensitive steering.
