Detroit Auto Show: Cadillac Provoq comes to Detroit

Cadillac Provoq

After being revealed at the 2008 CES, the Cadillac Provoq has made itself over Detroit for the 2008 North American International Auto Show. The Cadillac Provoq can be driven 280 miles on hydrogen and 20 miles on pure electricity for a total 300 miles. The concept holds 13.2 pounds of hydrogen which mixes with oxygen to generate electricity providing up to 88 kW of continuous power.

At the 2008 CES, GM executives said that the Cadillac Provoq fuel-cell concept shows that GM is serious about challenging Toyota and its premium luxury brand Lexus to make an environmental statement on the road.

“We think we”ll be able to take back some of the ground that Toyota owns today,” said Cadillac General Manager Jim Taylor, part of a team of GM executives who unveiled the Provoq concept.

Basically you can say the Provoq is to Cadillac what Volt is to Chevrolet.
