Bob Lutz has reportedly told the media that the Chevrolet Volt will make its market debut in November of 2010. Well surprise surprise, CEO Rick Wagoner is now saying that the timeline isn’t a sure think and that GM is still working on developing the technology required to produce the Volt for the masses.
“We continue to put massive resources into production as soon as possible,” said Wagoner. “2010 would be great, but (we) can’t guarantee that at this time. We’ll keep you posted regularly on our progress.”
GM is expected to produce 60,000 units of the Chevrolet Volt for the car”s first year run. That is four times the sales of the Toyota Prius when it made its U.S. debut. Pricing for the Volt is expected to be less than $30,000.
Wonder what Lutz has to say about this?
