Japan Rumor: Is Lexus working on an IS-F/R?

According to the latest rumors from Japan Lexus could be working on even fast and lighter version of the upcoming Lexus IS-F. WindingRoad reports that the car will be Lexus’ attempt to close the gap between the IS-F and the new BMW M3 and the Mercedes C63 AMG.

Dubbed the Lexus IS-F/R, the meaner IS-F will be powered by a Yamaha produced 5.0 liter V8 engine that pumps out 429 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque. Weight is expected to be dropped by 220 pounds through the use of some carbon fiber on the body along with a stripped down interior.

Currently the IS-F is powered by a 5.0 liter V8 engine that produces 417 horsepower and 371 lb-ft of torque.
