Spies have caught the new 2009 Mercedes CLK testing in Stuttgart, Germany. The next-generation Mercedes-Benz CLK is expected to bigger and more elegant than the outgoing model and will be based on the 2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

One major change to the 2009 Mercedes-Benz CLK is the front fascia. The most obvious change is the dual square shaped headlamps that replace the current circular feel. On the inside, the 2009 Mercedes-Benz E-Class cockpit will have a mixture of the new S-Class and C-Class elements.

Engines are expected to match the new 2008 C-Class with the range topper carrying CLK 63 AMG carrying a 500 horsepower unit. The car is expected to arrive in dealerships in the summer of 2009 with the convertible following later that year.
