More info: Audi A5 Convertible gets ready for Geneva debut

A prototype of the Audi A5 Convertible has been spotted testing around the company’s headquarters recently. The A5 Convertible will go on sale next year going head-to-head with the BMW 328i Convertible. The A5 Convertible will be directly followed by the Audi S5 Convertible that will compete with the BMW 335i Convertible.

However, unlike the 3-Series Convertible, the Audi A5 and S5 Convertible will have electric soft-tops to keep the weight down. AutoExpress says that the Audi Convertible should still be practical offering plenty of luggage space.

The A5 Convertible is expected to be powered by the same 3.2 liter FSI V6 unit plus the two 2.7 liter and 3.0 liter TDI diesels.

An official debut is expected at the Geneva Motor Show in March of 2008. Pricing is estimated at £33,000. Check out our photo renderings of the two cars below that we’ve posted before.
