Baby Alfa 8C hatchback coming to 2008 Geneva

You all probably know of the baby Alfa Romeo hatchback that is inspired by the sexy Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione. In the past year official specs and sketches have been released in investor presentations and now there is word from Italiaspeed, that the hatchback will be unveiled at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show.

The car, which is code-named “Junior,” will be an entry-level car for Alfa and will compete with the likes of Mini Coopers. Engine specs will with a 1.4 liter Multiair unit that produces 105 horsepower followed by a range of turbocharged variants including outputs of 135 horsepower, 180 horsepower and a whopping 230 horsepower. All will be matted with a 6-speed gearbox with an option of Selespeed semi-automatic MTAs.

Pricing for the “Junior” is expected to start at €16,000($22,642) in Italy.
