Toyota to unveil 2009 Corolla and Matrix at SEMA

Toyota will unveil the all new 2009 Toyota Corolla and Matrix at the 2007 SEMA, which begins on October 30.

The next-generation Toyota Corolla will be arriving early 2008 with an aggressive look and more powerful engines. Toyota hopes to compete with the new Honda Civic and Mazda3 and their high-performance variants.

The base Corolla model will is expected to carry Toyota”s new 1.8 liter engine that produces 128 horsepower and 125 lb-ft. of torque. Toyota sources have confirmed that the next-generation Corolla will also be getting Camry”s 2.4 liter 158 horsepower engine matted with a 5-speed automatic.

The same engine choices are expected for the Toyota Matrix.

September 25, 2007 – Torrance, CA – Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. (TMS), Inc. will stage the U.S. premiere of the all-new 2009 Corolla and Matrix at a press conference at the 2007 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show, held October 30 – November 3, 2007 in Las Vegas.

It will be simulcast live to the Toyota display area on the second floor of South Hall.
