Lexus IS-F headed to Europe in Spring 2008 to take on M3 and C 63 AMG

Lexus is rushing the launch of the upcoming IS-F after it felt overshadowed by the 2008 BMW M3 and the Mercedes C 63 AMG at the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show. According to AutoTelegraff, Lexus will bring the Lexus IS-F to the Europeans in the spring of 2008.

Previously reported, Lexus” biggest problem is the Western Europe region, the world”s number one luxury car market. Lexus sold less than 37,000 vehicles in Europe as compared to the 322,000 units it sold in the U.S. The Japanese luxury auto maker now hopes that buyers will give the brand a chance in the high-performance sedan segment.

Lexus hopes to have the IS-F ready for an official market introduction by the 2008 Detroit Auto Show.

The Lexus IS-F has a 5.0 liter V8 engine that produces more than 400 horsepower and 350 ft-lbs. of torque giving the car the ability to do 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds. 2008 Mercedes C63 AMG powered by a 6.3 liter V8 engine that produces 451 horsepower with a torque of 443 lb-ft. The car has the ability to do 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds. 008 BMW M3″s 4.0 liter V8 engine producing 420 horsepower. The car has a 0-60mph time of 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph.
