Frankfurt Motor Show: Alpina’s triple threat – B3 Biturbo, B5 S and B6 S

Alpina today revealed their latest projects at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show. The new additions include the B3 Biturbo, B5 S and the B6 S.

The B3 Biturbo coupe and convertible are powered by a 3.0 liter V6 engine that produces 360 horsepower. The use of extremely durable MAHLE pistons allows for a maximum boost of 1.1 bar with a 9.4:1 compression ratio which results in a 121 horsepower increase from the regular 330 horsepower in the 335i. That gives the B3 Biturbo the ability to go from 0-62 mph in 4.8 seconds while the convertible takes 5.0 seconds.

The B6 S coupe and convertible, as well as the B5 S, are powered by a 4.4 liter V8 engine that produces 530 horsepower. With the magic of Alpina engineers, the 500 horsepower was given an extra 30 horses to allow the B6 S coupe to go from 0-62 mph in 4.5 seconds while the convertible does it in 4.8.

Unfortunately Alpina will not be sending any of these amazing beasts over to the U.S. highways due to the size of the company. For them it makes sense to stay in selected European companies. Oh well, you can always just drool over the pictures.
