Bentley reports first profit, new model variant to debut at Frankfurt

With an operating profit of 85 million euros, Bentley reported its first profit data for the first time. For the first half of 2007, Bentley”s profit of 85 million euros three times the 26 million euros for the same period last year. Revenue for 2007 totaled 739 million euros.

“We have seen strong growth both in mature markets, such as Germany, the UK and the US, as well as in emerging markets, such as China and Russia,” said Paefgen in a written statement issued Friday, July 27. “This augurs well for a good full year, and the recent launch of two new convertibles — the Continental GTC and the Azure — giving Bentley its most extensive model range ever, will continue to contribute to our ongoing success.”

According to Automotive News, Bentley will be adding a new derivative at the upcoming 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show.

“We need to be more transparent,” said James Rosenstein, Bentley”s global director of external affairs.
