The GMC Acadia definitely makes us do a double-take when we see it on the road. Well, GM is expecting the Acadia to be the best-seller among the three new crossovers that it builds at its Lansing, Michigan plant.
In May, GM sold 28,254 Acadias as compared to 12,694 Saturn Outlooks and 1,905 Buick Enclaves. The 2007 GMC Acadia, Saturn Outlook and the 2008 Buick Enclave share GM’s new front-drive Lambda architecture.
The 2007 GMC Acadia starts at an MSRP of $29,990 and features a 3.6 liter VVT V6 engine that produces 275 horsepower.
“I think the GMC is No. 1 for a lot of reasons,” Pete Nico, vehicle line director for Lambda, told Automotive News. “People walking into a GMC dealer expect to pay that kind of money or a lot more for a vehicle.”
