BMW considers buying Volvo, again

We reported back in early May that BMW was seriously considering taking over Volvo. The report came after BMW requested a complete breakdown of Volvo”s current financial position from a European investment bank that is handling enquiries for Ford. Now, a Swedish news paper is has the report circulating again.

The Goteborgs Posten Daily reported on their website that  Ford said BMW has been looking into a possible purchase of Volvo. “We cannot comment on speculation, this is a question for our owner,” spokeswoman for Volvo cars told Reuters.

Sources have said that BMW is looking to expand its lineup which has always been centered around driving pleasure and that Volvo would add a huge safety factor to the company”s focus.
