Brembo wins contract for Lexus IS-F 350 brakes

Brembo, an Italian auto parts maker and one of the most respected brands in the braking system industry, said today that it has won the contract for the Lexus IS-F 350. Brembo said that it will be producing the braking system for the Lexus IS-F 350, for which production will start in the second-quarter of 2007. This is Brembo’s first contract with Toyota.

The Lexus IS-F is Lexus’ competitor to the BMW ‘M’ cars and Mercedes-Benz’s AMG cars. The car will have a 5.0 liter V8 engine that produces more than 400 horsepower and 350 ft-lbs. of torque giving the car the ability to do 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds.

Only 1,000 will be built for the United States.
