Nissan announced that it is making changes to its management team in North America Sales and Marketing Department as the company’s U.S. operations are headed towards a annual profit decline for the first time in seven years. CEO, Carlos Ghosn, will also give up his duties of overseeing operations in North America and South America and will take the duties of Nissan’s COO Toshiyuki Shiga.
“The U.S. market is changing and Nissan”s marketing and sales group must change with it,” said Brad Bradshaw, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Nissan North America. “Since 1999, we have nearly doubled the number of Nissan and Infiniti vehicles we are offering and more are coming.
While Ghosn will still be influential and in control of where the company is headed, Christian Meunier, currently Vice President, Sales Operations, Nissan Europe, will become Vice President, Model Line Marketing for Nissan North America. Jan Thompson, Vice President, Marketing for Nissan North America, will become Vice President, Marketing Communications. Dave Mazur, currently Vice President, Market Intelligence will take on additional responsibilities of Pricing, Market Planning and Brand Management.
