Car manufacturers in Europe are looking into developing diesel-hybrids so as long the European Union decides to tax cars based on carbon dioxide emissions. According to a report by AutoExpress, engineers are saying that the diesel hybrid is the best solution to minimize CO2 emissions but the success relies on the European Union as well as automakers and their engineers. Experts are saying that even at a $2,500 premium, a diesel hybrid could be appealing.
So who will be the first company to get on the diesel-hybrid train? Well most eyes or on Peugeot who has already publically promoted diesel hybrid technology. Currently Peugeot-Citroen SA is starting to introduce a little hybrid technology into their vehicles with the Citroen C3. DailmerChrysler has already been showing off its diesel hybrid S-Class.
