There is no doubt that Michael Bay’s Transformers series has played some role in helping the Chevrolet Camaro become America’s best-selling sports car for 2010 and 2011. Michael Bay will now be taking over the theater screens later this week with the third installment called Transformers: Dark of the Moon and to celebrate the third part, Chevrolet announced today that it will offer a 2012 Transformers Special Edition Chevrolet Camaro Coupe to Bumblebee/Autobots fans in the United States, Canada, China, Japan, Europe, South America, and the Middle East.

“The Transformers franchise has helped introduce Camaro – and Chevrolet – to a whole new generation of fans,” said Rick Scheidt, vice president of Chevrolet marketing. “Its role in the films helped make the Camaro the best-selling sports car in America, and one of the best-known cars of any kind around the world.”

The 2012 Transformers Special Edition Chevrolet Camaro Coupe will be offered as $3,000 package on the 2LT and 2SS Camaro with Rally Yellow paint. It will also add black rally stripes, a high-wing rear spoiler, 20-inch black-painted wheels and an Autobot Shield logos on the center caps and front quarter panels. On the inside, the Transformers Camaro will get black leather interior accented with yellow stitching on the instrument panel, center console, armrests and seats. The Autobot Shield logos are embroidered on the front headrests, as well as the center console lid. Two dealer-installed options are also available including 21-inch, black-painted wheels and a black ground-effects package.

This year, the Camaro continues to lead the sports car segment, with the introduction of the Camaro Convertible. Chevrolet has sold 40,275 Camaros this year, compared to the Mustang sales of 30,206.

We’re just hoping that the Transformers Special Edition will be offered with the upcoming Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.

Chef Buddy Valastro, star of the TLC reality television series ‘Cake Boss,’ is well known for his custom made cakes. At the 2011 New York Auto Show earlier this year, Buddy created a massive 2,000 pound cake in the shape of Bumblebee from the Transformers series.

Valastro’s Bumblebee Camaro cake, which took four days to make, consists of vanilla pound cake with butter-cream frosting. Rick Krispies treats were used to bind the cake at critical flex points.

We’re just a couple of days away from Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon hitting theaters (July 1 to be exact). Chevrolet has just released a new commercial for the Chevrolet Camaro highlighting its product placement in the third installment of the Transformers series.

The commercial shows a bunch of Bumblebee Camaro footage from Transformers 3 with Tim Allen’s voice in the background saying “You may never have to outrun a Decepticon invasion… it’s just nice to know you can.”

Transformers 3 Dark of the Moon Theatrical Trailer

Michael Bay has just released another trailer for the Transformers: Dark of the Moon. The third trailers shows a very angry Optimus Prime, the world coming to an end, a sad Bumblebee and a Sam’s new girl.

The third part in the Transformers series will hit theaters on July 1, 2011 and will definitely be available in IMAX 3D.

The Autobots Bumblebee, Ratchet, Ironhide and Sideswipe led by Optimus Prime, are back in action, taking on the evil Decepticons, who are determined to avenge their defeat in 2009s Transformers Revenge of the Fallen. In this new movie, the Autobots and Decepticons become involved in a perilous space race between the U.S. and Russia, and once again human Sam Witwicky has to come to the aid of his robot friends. There’s new characters too, including a new villain in the form of Shockwave, a longtime “Transformers” character who rules Cybertron while the Autobots and Decepticons battle it out on Earth.

Transformers 3 Bumblebee Chevrolet Camaro Interpretation

Now here is a real Chevrolet Camaro fan. While “Transformers Dark of the Moon,” won’t hit theaters until later this summer, it hasn’t stopped this true fan of the movie and the Camaro to build his own interpretation of the third Bumblebee Camaro.

The owner’s take on Bumblebee Camaro 3 features a matte yellow vinyl exterior, a custom built hood, front bumper with front splitter, lights, side mirrors, and Camaro concept style rear exhaust tips.

Steel Legend's Megatron Tank

Transformer fans pay attention here for a second. You think your probably the No. 1 fan of the robot alien franchise but we believe this Chinese designed, who goes by the name of Steel Legend, may have one up on you.

Inspired by the Megatron tank from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Steel Legend created a complete not working replica of the Decepticon. While it doesn’t work, it does weight more than 11,000 pounds.

The whole replica is created out of scrap metal and it definitely is a work of art … at least in our eyes.

Transformers Dark of the Moon Daytona 500 Trailer

Following a big commercial during Super Bowl XLV, a new commercial for Transformers Dark of the Moon made its debut during the Daytona 500. It’s probably the most revealing of all trailers we’ve seen thus far so enjoy it.

Chevrolet plans on having a big presence during Super Bowl XLV with five 30-second commercials featuring the Camaro, Cruze Eco, Silverado HD and the Chevrolet Volt. The commercials will air in a combinations of in-gan and post-game ads.

“Chevrolet has a lot of great news to share right now, and where else do you get to talk to 95 million Americans all at once?” said Joel Ewanick, global chief marketing officer of General Motors. “Chevrolet is using the biggest broadcast day of the year, all day, to talk about the Volt, the North American Car of the Year; the Silverado HD, Motor Trend’s Truck of the Year; the 42-mile-per-gallon Cruze Eco; and the best-selling Camaro.”

So far GM has released one of the commercials called ‘Al’s Chevrolet,’ which features the Bumblebee Camaro fighting a mascot chipmunk. Who wins? Find out in the video after the jump.

2005 Ford Mustang Saleen - Transformers Barricade

Car fans and Transformer fans are pretty similar, if for no reason but that they both like cool machines. That”s why it made so much sense to put awesome cars into the Transformer movies, and why a certain eBay Motors auction is going to get so much attention. The Ford Mustang customized by Steve Saleen and used in the 2007 Transformers movie is up for auction, and is advertised as follows:

“Motoexotica is proud to offer one of only 3 custom Saleen Mustangs built by Steve Saleen for their role as ‘Barricade’ in the 2007 movie blockbuster Transformers. Steve Saleen created only 3 ‘Barricades’ for the film and this was the #2 car, also known as the camera car.”

It was heavily screen used in the movie due to its attention to detail and no damage.” The car may not be smart to take onto the road, and it may get you into some trouble with the cops, but it”s a collectible. For car fans who love Transformers too (and that”s most of you), this should be a deal to sweet to overlook.

Camaro Bumblebee t-bones cop car on Transformers 3 set

Leaving Chicago, the Transformers 3 crew is now filming in Washington, D.C. and causing no less destruction than the one we saw in Illinois.

Here is a video of a DC Police in his Chevrolet Suburban responding to emergency call when he somehow gets inside a closed set and has a collision with the Bumblebee Camaro. Of course, this was not in the script.

Transformers 3 filming in Chicago

Transformers 3 is scheduled to be released on July 1, 2011 and yes it will be available in Real D 3D And IMAX 3D. We’re really crossing our fingers for the third installment of the series to be better than the sequel, which had a great amount of action but a horrible plot.

The good news already for part 3? Megan Fox will not be a part of it. Fox’s character Mikaela has been dropped and Sam is now given new love interest, who will be played by English model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

But what about the cars? Well, Michael Bay and his crew were recently invaded the city of Chicago and fans happened to film some interesting scenes. In these numerous clips (posted after the jump), you’ll see the Corvette Stingray Convertible Concept, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Ferrari 458 Italia, some NASCARs and a new upgraded Bumblebee Camaro.

We’re eagerly awaiting Michael Bay’s third installment of the Transformers series (since the second one was so bad). Besides Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and the Corvette Stingray Convertible Concept, the Ferrari 458 Italia will be joining the Autobots team.

On the Decepticon side, latest spy shots form Chicago show that a trio of NASCAR will join the dark side to take on Sam Witwicky and Optimus Prime.

Corvette Stingray Concept Convertible

Joining the upgraded Chevrolet Camaro Bumblebee in Transformers 3 will be a topless Corvette Stingray Concept seen here hanging out in Beverly Hills.

As for this looking like anything close to the C7 Corvette Convertible – you can expect this design to be toned down significantly. GM has previously said that the “Corvette Stingray Concept represents both the iconic legacy and an exciting future for Corvette. The Corvette Stingray Concept was developed as an internal design challenge to combine classic Corvette cues with surprisingly high-tech features, modern materials, and a striking new appearance.”

Either way, we’re looking forward to seeing the convertible Corvette Stingray Concept on the big screen on July 1, 2011.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

It was reported last week that Megan Fox, has been dropped from Transformers 3. While it was widely reported that Fox was being dropped in order to take Sam Witwicky”s character into a new direction, Fox’s reps said that it was her decision to leave.

Either way, sources now say that Fox’s replacement will be Victoria”s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

We’re not complaining at all.

Megan Fox in Transformers

Shia LaBeouf’s love interest in the Transformers, Megan Fox, has been dropped from the third installment of Michael Bay’s blockbuster series, Access Hollywood was told by sources. An insider at Paramount told Access Hollywood that Megan will not return for the third movie. Apparently, to take Sam Witwicky’s character into a new direction it was better if he wasn’t tied down to a love interest.

Reps for Megan Fox said Wed. night that it was her decision to leave the movie.

” Megan Fox will not be starring in ‘ Transformers 3,’” the reps said. “It was her decision not to return. She wishes the franchise the best.”

Makes us wonder what Megan was doing hanging out with Bumblebee in recent spy shots.

Spy Shots: Chevrolet Camaro Bumblebee from Transformers 3

Michael Bay has confirmed that he is indeed working on the third-installment of his Transformers series, which is set to hit theaters in July 1, 2011. Bay also confirmed that the new Ferrari 458 Italia will join the Autobots team, which may take some spotlight of the beloved Chevrolet Camaro Bumblebee… well, almost.

According to these latest spy shots, Bumblebee will get some significant upgrades for part 3 (unlike Megan Fox).

From the pictures you can see smoked-colored wheels, a big new spoiler and some upgrades to the front splitter. We’re definitely looking forward to it.
