TechArt and Porsche go together like Brabus and Mercedes-Benz. So for this year’s 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, TechArt has teased the world with its latest effort by releasing photos of its creation ahead of the full debut at Frankfurt.

Based on the new 2012 Porsche 911 GT2 RS, the GTStreet RS gets a whole series of upgrades. These include and are not limited to upgraded bodywork for better aerodynamics, a new power kit that gives the already raging flat-six more power and much more.

But let’s start off with the more interesting stuff. The TechArt GTStreet RS takes the GT2’s standard 3.6L twin-turbocharged flat-six and bumps the power from 612hp and 516 lb-ft of torque to 720hp and 664 lb-ft of torque. That allows the GTStreet RS to accelerate to 60 in 3.3 seconds and onto a top speed of 219 mph. Blimey.

The revised body work includes a lower front fascia with a carbon fiber splitter, an adjustable rear splitter to aid down force and more air ducts to help cool the brakes and the intercooler.

The launch for the new TechArt Porsche is expected to occur sometime in December with pricing being announced closer to that date.

The tuner also launched a tuning program for the new 2012 Porsche 911. That will give the new 911 trims painted in custom color or carbon fiber, TECHART Formula III forged light alloy wheel in 20- and 21-inch size, available colors are Sterling Silver and individual paint with five dynamically shaped twin-spokes.

Refresher: Prices for the base 300-hp 2011 Porsche Cayenne start at $46,700. The 400-hp 2011 Cayenne S will have a starting price of $63,700, while the Cayenne S Hybrid will start at $67,700. The range-topping 500-hp 2011 Porsche Cayenne Turbo will start at $104,800.
Press Release:

Technology and Art – TECHART World Premiere at the Geneva Motor-Show

Since 1974, this vehicle has been making the hearts of true sports car fans beat faster: the Porsche 911 Turbo ““ a masterpiece made of the finest materials and a symbol of top engineering and design. An almost-perfect sports car. Almost, because individuality and personality are essential elements in achieving perfection. TECHART automobile design stands for the creation of individual masterpieces for sports car enthusiasts looking to give their vehicle a touch of individual flair. The result is the TECHART personalization program for the new 911 Turbo and 911 Turbo S models consisting of a new aerodynamic package, light metal wheels, and exquisite interiors will be presented in early March at the 80th international Motor-Show in Geneva, Switzerland.

Absolute performance ““ no compromises

The new Aerodynamic Kit I emphasizes the Turbo’s inner strengths without being excessive or overloaded. The sturdy RIM polyurethane exterior reduces aerodynamic lift on both axles, allowing smoother handling capability at extreme speeds. One striking feature is the front spoiler, with its dynamically-accented air intake valves and seamless integration. As your eyes pass to the side of the vehicle, you notice the airflow-optimizing side sills, which are stretched to make the vehicle seem to sit lower. A small roof spoiler on the Coupe elongates the visual appearance of the roof line. The spoiler profile can generate additional downforce with the extensible rear spoiler. Rounding off the modified back end is the diffuser, which extends the standard skirt downwards. Personalized mirror moldings add yet another sporty accent and enhance the unique TECHART appearance.

The same applies to the TECHART Aerodynamic Kit II. Independent front and rear spoilers optimize mass air flow for improved ventilation of the braking and intercooler systems. TECHART’s multifunctional daytime running lights are available for the front spoiler II. It combines daytime running lights, position illumination, sidelights, parking lights, and turn signals in a combined housing that fits seamlessly into the design of the vehicle front. The display brightness of the daytime running lights automatically adjusts to the selected daytime lighting setting. Furthermore, the daytime running lights dim automatically when either of the turning signals is active, in order to improve their visibility.

The high performance look and unmistakable TECHART design are also reflected in the wheel enhancements. Connecting the powerful torque of up to 700 Nm securely to the asphalt are the TECHART Formula light metal wheels, with their modern 5-spoke design. The product range includes TECHART Formula, Formula II, or filigree Formula III alloy-forged wheels in up to 20-inch formats. This classic form guarantees efficient heat diffusion and displays the braking system. For optimum road grip, TECHART recommends Conti Sport Contact 3 or tires of the brand Michelin Pilot Sport PS2.

In addition, TECHART’s Noselift System is also available for the new 911 Turbo. This makes problems with everyday obstacles a thing of the past for this vehicle. At the push of a button, ca. 60 mm of additional space can be created between the road and the front spoiler by lifting the vehicle height on the front axle. The hydraulic TECHART Noselift System is very reliable, easy to retrofit, and exhibits the everyday applicability you expect from TECHART.

Elegant TECHART interior designs

TECHART’s interiors for the new models are unmistakable: clear yet elegant, sporty yet comfortable, the cockpit, seats, doors, and roof make for a luxurious experience. These sporty enhancements please all the senses ““ smell and touch included. For instance, the interior could be completely outfitted with the finest leather. The TECHART 3-spoke sporty steering wheel, aluminum pedals, dials in individual colors, or stainless steel entry strips embossed with the TECHART logo are all installable options. For exteriors and interiors, TECHART knows how to engage the emotions ““ and please the senses.

Experience the TECHART personalization program yourself for the Porsche 911 Turbo and the 911 Turbo S at the Geneva Motor-Show from March 4″“14, 2010 at the TECHART Stand in Hall 2.

Press Release:

TECHART Trio is completed

January, test ground Malmsheim. Sub-zero temperatures ““ but the team of TECHART Automobildesign has no trouble with the frostiness. There is too much pleasure for the two super athletes, who have left the production hall in Leonberg for the first time and are ready for a photo shooting.

TECHART has completed its Individualization Program for the Porsche Panamera model range. As of now, sportscar lovers are able to get the Panamera S and the all-wheel-driven Panamera 4S refined according their own vision.

TECHART in every detail

OE quality in every detail ““ true to the own brand principle TECHART has developed the Individualization Program for the Panamera model range in its well-known and extraordinary style. Only genuine TECHART individualization reflects the typical TECHART design philosophy ““ technical and aesthetical, visible and invisible.

The Aerodynamic Kit I presents the four-seater in an elegant and excitingly sporty way. The three part front spoiler discreetly hallmarks the dynamic front apron of the Panamera. At the same time, it reduces effectively the buoyant forces at the front axle and ensures optimal flow of cooling air to the braking system.

The transmission of power to the road is the job of a choice of elegant 21-inch TECHART Formula or sporty 22-inch TECHART Formula II light-metal wheels. For the necessary road holding, TECHART recommends Conti Sport Contact 3 tires or Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires.

Quality and dynamics ““ in the interior as well as at the exterior

TECHART handcrafted interiors are world famous for an extraordinary level of quality and accuracy. For the Panamera model range, TECHART is presenting exclusive two-color leather finishing in teak and black. Decorative stitching with matching yarn, a roof liner in the same colored Alcantara, details such as interior color-matched roof handles and foot mats with leather edging in the color teak give rise to extensive individualization. The new TECHART precious wood trims are being used for the first time in the Panamera model range. The prized ash veneer with a tactile grain decorates the doors, the dashboard and center console.

Visit TECHART in Hall 2 at the Geneva International Motor Show from the 4th to the 14th of March 2010 and experience genuine TECHART Individualization ““ without sub-zero temperatures.

Press Release:

Record drive shortly before the turn of the year

Shift down a gear, come to rest ““ TECHART has organized the turn of the year very differently. After TECHART”s full size SUV speed record in the Italian Nardo, the TECHART GT Street RS based on the 911 GT2 broke the former lap record at the Sachsenring race track. High speed, pace, uniqueness ““ 100 % TECHART.

In the comparison carried out by AutoBild SPORTSCARS, TECHART impressively asserted its superiority over the competitors. Already before the record drive on the 3,671-meter circuit, the TECHART GT Street RS impressed spectators and proved its unique versatility. Apart from the sprinter qualities demonstrated several times, which were once more unheard of (from 0 to 100 km/hh in only 3.5 sec), the sports car displayed another quality that was just as important: A 32,9-meter braking distance at a speed of 100 km/h is looking to find its match. Once again, TECHART”s basic principles were confirmed: TÃV-tested and approved components as well as OEM quality in every detail.

For the conclusion of the extensive test program, the TECHART GT Street RS was able to crown once more the performance achieved on this day. With a lap time of 1:31.94 min, the winner of the Tuner Grand Prix 2008 and 2009 repeatedly demonstrated the TECHART winning gene. With more than 1.95 sec of head start, it left not only the competitors far behind, but improved the current AutoBild SPORTSCARS lap record at the Sachsenring by an unprecedented 4.47 sec.

Press Release:

Leonberg, December 2009. TECHART Automobildesign really set the sparks flying at this year`s trial of strength at the High Speed Event in Nardo/Italy. Test driver Sandro Reuter reached a top speed of 321,2 km/h, respectively 200 mph, with the TECHART refined Porsche Cayenne Turbo. TECHART thus secured a new speed record for Fullsize-SUVs. The circular 12.4 kilometer track is still considered to be the world´s fastest motor racing circuit, even ahead of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the United States.

The winner car, refined with the TECHART equipment, is based on a Porsche Cayenne Turbo with Turbo S technology. The installed TA 055/2.2 performance kit takes the engine up to 680 hp, an increase of 130 hp compared with the standard production model. The Aerodynamics Kit I, together with the “Sport” air suspension module, additionally delivered the necessary performance on the circuit.

But thought was also given to TECHART´s usual external upgrades on the vehicle. The TECHART daytime running lights, sports steering wheel, carbon kit, aluminium pedals, decorative stitching and seat belts in gray, additional leather in Luxury Black and illuminated door entry guards with the TECHART logo made the car to a highlight in the pit lane.

Along with the driver`s skills, this success was primarily driven by the perfect, systematic adjustment of the wheels and the suspension. For the record run at moderate temperatures the TECHART Team chose Continental Cross Contact UHP high-performance tires on 22-inch TECHART Formula rims, which were exposed to specific loading as a result of the one-sided cornering on the circuit. Longstanding TECHART test driver Sandro Reuter said with great satisfaction: “The SUV was ideally prepared for the event. Both the engine and the tires showed a high level of performance and consistency.”

Press Release:

Leonberg, September 2009 ““ TECHART is celebrating the world premiere of its individualization program for the Porsche Panamera models at the IAA 2009. The first phase of the TECHART program includes, among other things, exterior components for improved aerodynamics and a striking appearance that is typical of TECHART, 21 and 22 inch light metal wheels, a multifunctional daylight running light system, as well as extensive options finishing the interior.

“Personality knows no compromise ““ this is our understanding of high-quality automobile finishing. We implement this one-to-one with the Panamera and in the process combine well-trained aesthetics with discrete elegance,” emphasizes Thomas Behringer, CEO of TECHART Automobil GmbH. The program for the Porsche Panamera Turbo will be shown at the IAA 2009.

The completely newly developed Aerokit I was manufactured from PUR-RIM and it optimizes the driving characteristics specifically at high speeds. The three-part Front Spoiler I has integrated brake air ducting and reduces the lift on the front axle with better cooling of the brakes at the same time. The side skirts steady the airflow under the vehicle and form dynamic contours in the side view. The new Rear Spoiler I and a rear diffusor support driving stability, and together with the dual oval tailpipes made of stainless steel with the TECHART engraving, they emphasize the consistent design at the rear.

Transmission of power to the road is the job of a choice of elegant 21-inch TECHART Formula or sporty 22-inch TECHART Formula II light-metal wheels. For the necessary road holding, TECHART recommends Conti Sport Contact 3 tires or Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires.

TECHART has a multifunctional daytime running lights system ready for the Panamera Turbo. The LED system unit combines daytime running lights, blinkers, sidelights, and parking lights in one housing ““ in a choice of chrome or black ““ that slips seamlessly into the front design of the Panamera. The system has automatic dimming of the daytime running lights when blinking as well as when the low-beam is switched on.

Interior manufacturing is one of the key competences of the Leonberg Porsche tuning specialist. For the market launch of the program for the Panamera, TECHART is presenting exclusive two-colour leather finishing in teak and black. Decorative stitching with matching thread, a roof liner in the same coloured Alcantara, details such as interior colour-matched handles and foot mats with leather edging in the colour teak give rise to extensive personalization. A TECHART sport steering wheel as well as dials with the interior colour complete the sporty and elegant line. A new TECHART exotic wood variation is being used for the first time in the Panamera. The prized ash veneer with a tactile grain decorates the doors, the dashboard and center console.

The TECHART program for Porsche Panamera S, 4S and Turbo will be available in December 2009. More individualization options as well as technical features will follow at the beginning of 2010.

Press Release:

TECHART program for Porsche Boxster/Cayman

Leonberg – Porsche upgrader TECHART presents its new individualization options for the newest Boxster and Cayman models. Features include two Aerokits, daytime running lights, a set of sport springs, as well as carbon interior packages. “Our upgrade options enhance both the exterior and the interior, fulfilling our clients’ desire for more individual exclusivity,” explains Tobias Beyer, spokesperson for TECHART Automobil GmbH.

TÃV certified Aerokits
Both of the new Aerokits I+II from PU-RIM implement components that were tested in a wind tunnel to optimize their drag coefficients. In addition, the downforce on both axles is perceptibly higher. Essential Aerokit components are a front spoiler with a spoiler lip that match the body’s color, side sills, and a rear area that has been optimized in terms of both design and aerodynamics. The rigid rear spoiler and a rear apron with a diffuser look ensure greater stability at extreme speeds. Both models’ exhaust systems add a sporty touch to the striking rear design. Two round TECHART exhaust tailpipes in glossy or black chrome handle the rear exhaust flow. In comparison to series models, the engine sound is more sonorous and hollow, though it yields to a powerful crescendo at the highest RPMs.

New daytime running lights system in the Aerokit II
A multifunctional daytime running lights system was developed for both TECHART’s Boxster-based Roadster design and its Cayman-based TECHART GT design. The LED system units combine daytime, idle, and parking lighting in a single cohesive housing. The different modules are elegantly integrated into the upper part of the front spoiler. The light intensity automatically adjusts to the selected driving lights setting. Moreover, the daytime running lights dim automatically when either of the turning signals is active to improve their visibility.

Sporty chassis
The performance spectrum of the new individualization options is also evident in the chassis of the Boxster and Cayman. The 19- and 20-inch aluminum wheels expertly transmit the power of these 2.9 and 3.4 liter engines to the road. The TECHART Formula, Formula II, and Formula III forged wheels both ensure abundant ventilation for the wheel arches and allow the braking systems to be seen. The tight alignment of TECHART’s set of sport springs directly permit any steering angles. Thanks to TECHART’s Vario and VarioPlus threaded suspension chassis, the models can be lowered up to 30 mm during assembly and optimally adapted to suit the individual demands for each vehicle. To ensure sufficient traction for this high-performance system, TECHART recommends the Conti Pneu Sport Contact 3.

Exclusive interiors
Because TECHART runs its own saddlery, it can offer a nearly limitless variety of custom interior designs. For instance, the interior can be completely outfitted with the finest leather and decorative seams in contrasting colors. Moreover, carbon interior packages I+II further expand the options for high-quality stylizing of all ornamentation. Additional accessories like aluminum sport pedals, a 3-spoked sport steering wheel, or illuminated entry sills with individual logos round out the diverse options for the design of the interior

Press Release:

TECHART launches performance and styling upgrades for Porsche Cayenne Diesel
combining low CO2 and low running costs with style and high performance, for new and existing vehicles

A range of tuning and styling options for the Cayenne Diesel has been introduced by TECHART, the German Porsche tuning company renowned for creating some of the world’s finest bespoke vehicles. Upgrades covering everything from sports-orientated engine and chassis conversions to luxury interiors and aerodynamic styling are available in the UK from Porsche specialist Tech9 Motorsport.

“With the top three podium positions at Le Mans won by diesel powered racecars this year, it is proven beyond any doubt that this is a superb fuel for very high performance motoring,” says Phil Hindley, managing director of Tech9 Motorsport. “Add in their low CO2 output, which translates to low benefit-in-kind taxation, their excellent fuel economy and high residual values, and we can see why there is so much excitement about this car.”

TECHART’s upgrade range has been developed to provide subtle enhancements to power, handling and styling, complemented by a range of interior trim options that can take the vehicle from comfortable to opulent. Every component is designed and manufactured to the same high standards as the original equipment parts and integration with the vehicle is rigorously engineered to ensure that safety and durability remain at the very high levels originally specified by Porsche.

Specially developed for the Cayenne Diesel, Aerokit 1 includes a new front panel with a deeper front spoiler, elegantly integrated driving and fog lamps and additional cooling vents to help keep temperatures under control during consistently hard driving. Deeper sills help manage under body airflow and at the rear a new apron with integrated diffuser completes the underbody aerodynamics. Airflow behind the vehicle is managed by a low drag roof spoiler. All exterior styling components are manufactured from polyurethane to ensure long term durability and to provide a smooth, high quality appearance.

For cars fitted with air suspension, Aerokit 1 also includes a unique TECHART suspension control module that lowers the vehicle, reducing roll and further improving aerodynamics. When the vehicle is stationary, the control system lowers the vehicle a little more to improve access and to further improve the low, aerodynamic look.

Aerokit 1 also adds headlight and rearlight surround trims, 21″ alloy wheels fitted with Michelin Diamaris 4X4 XL 295/35 R21 tyres, twin double oval exhaust pipes, a three-spoke TECHART sports steering wheel with the correct Porsche airbag, and interior trim upgrades that include light-weight aluminium pedals and footrest and leather edged luxury logo floormats. Further options include 22″ body colour wheels with 295/30 R22 Continental tyres, an Aero or Turbo-look bonnet, plus a vast range of interior options from individual trim components to sumptuous full leather interiors created at TECHART’s world-class coachworks in Stuttgart.

To complement the body and interior upgrades, owners can specify TECHART’s TA 055/D1 power kit, which boosts the power of the Cayenne’s 3.0 litre diesel engine from 176 kW (240 bhp) to 213 kW (290 bhp) and takes torque from 550 Nm to 630 Nm at 2,200 rpm. More than 500 Nm is available from around 1,100rpm to beyond 4,000rpm, providing tremendous flexibility and refinement. CO2 emissions are unchanged at 244 g/km and fuel consumption on the combined cycle is an excellent 30.4 mpg.

Tech9′s Phil Hindley says that the Powerkit makes the Cayenne Diesel effortlessly quick. “The 0-60 time drops from 8.3 seconds to 7.7 seconds, an impressive improvement, but the real benefit is that the huge torque and very flat delivery provides impressive acceleration from any speed. It feels more like a big V8 than a highly efficient diesel V6.”

Owners who have chosen the Powerkit can enhance engine bay aesthetics by specifying the TECHART engine styling pack, which includes a carbon fibre engine cover with red embellishments and a metalised TECHART logo.

Tech9 can supply a new TECHART Diesel Cayenne with Aerokit 1 (including the exterior and interior upgrades) from £53,000 or from £55,500 with Aerokit 1 and Powerkit TA 055/D1. Existing vehicles can be fitted with Aerokit 1 from £15,000 and with Powerkit TA 055/D1 from £2,500. Both packs are available individually.

TECHART supplies powertrain, styling, interior and chassis enhancements for the full range of current and recent Porsches. The company was formed in 1987 to create vehicles that blend advanced technology with artistic excellence (hence TECHART) and is registered as an independent manufacturer. TECHART recently repeated its 2008 victory at the Tuner Grand Prix at Hockenheim, winning three classes in the June 2009 event, claiming overall victory and confirming the firm as the world’s leading developer of ultra-high performance tuned Porsches.

Tech9 Motorsport has an outstanding track record in Porsche racing, winning the British GT Championship in 2003, 2004 and 2005 and the FIA GT3 Championship in 2006. The firm’s technical expertise led to their appointment as exclusive UK agent for renowned German Porsche upgrade specialist TECHART, making a superb range of stylish body conversions, luxury interiors and high-performance mechanical conversions available to UK buyers.

Our favorite automotive artist, Jon Sibal, has come up with a rendering of a tuning package for the 2010 Porsche Panamera inspired by TechArt, a German tuning firm that focuses on Porsche vehicles.

The front bumper of this Panamera is inspired by the TechArt GT Street R line for the Porsche 911 turbo while the side skirts are Sibal’s own design. Sibal also added chrome trims to the headlight surrounds with blacked out window trims and carbon fiber mirror housings.

Sibal says he contacted TechArt who loved his work and said it was very similar to what they had come up with in house.
