Head of Audi Group Design Wolfgang Egger is now taking over the Audi Brand Design operations as well. Accompanying the announcement is a head shot that doubles as a teaser photo that uses a fuzzy image of what could possibly be next for the Audi TT as a backdrop.

What little we can decipher shows similar front end lines to the current model, with an updated front bumper fascia and headlamps. While this is one of many possibilities, its timely appearance says otherwise.

Stefan Sielaff currently holds the position Egger is taking over, and will be the new Head of Volkswagen Design Center in Potsdamn and the brand’s Head of Interior Design. In addition to all of Audi design, Egger will also head all of Lamborghini design. Sielaff played a large role in Audi’s current designs including the Audi A6 and A8, and is responsible for the addition of LED lights, along with the creation of the Audi e-tron Spyder and the A2 e-tron.

Egger’s resume includes Head of Alfa Romeo Centro Stile, Head of Lancia Centro Stile, and lead design on the first Audi e-tron concept and Audi Quattro concept, among others. He will be being in the new position as of February 1, 2012.

Expect to see a new TT concept for 2012, with production anticipated for 2014.

Jaguar is in the holiday spirit and has released a teaser shot of its upcoming Jaguar XF Sportbrake on Twitter.

So does this Jaguar XF Sportbrake photo tell us anything? Not really. All we really see is Santa loading up the Jaguar XF station wagon with gifts offering a quick glimpse of the inside of the car.

The Jaguar XF Sportbrake is due to hit European roads early next year. No plans have been announced for the stateside.

Hyundai has just dropped teaser of the new 2012 Azera sedan, which will make its world debut at the 2011 LA Auto Show later this week.

The Cadillac ATS will go on sale late 2012 and will go into production next summer at GM’s Lansing Grand River plant, the same plant that builds the Cadillac CTS sedan, coupe and wagon.

We’re not really sure about what will power the new Cadillac ATS but rumors suggest an all-new 2.0 liter Ecotec turbo engine making between 270-hp and 280-hp will be a part of the lineup. The ATS-V is speculated to be powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 making around 380-hp.

Sales of the Cadillac ATS will start next year. It will go into production next summer at GM’s Lansing Grand River plant, the same plant that builds the Cadillac CTS sedan, coupe and wagon.

$350 million dollars and 400 new jobs later, Mercedes-Benz will have its BMW X6 competitor out on the roads as soon as it enters production in 2015. A poster has been hung at the company’s Tuscaloosa, Alabama plant teasing the new model and someone on Twitter managed to capture an image and Tweet for the rest of us to see.

Known as the Mercedes-Benz MLC, one of 10 new vehicles from the brand to debut over the next 4 years, the model will be based on the M-Class crossover.

Of course there is a market for the MLC. BMW sold a total of 46,404 units of the X6 in 2010 and really has no competitor out there besides the Infiniti FX.

A new Italian automaker by the name of Vygor is preparing to unveil a new sports car. The Tuscany based sports cars maker today released a teaser of their upcoming model with a very animated press release.

“Vygor was born in Tuscany, a land rich in works of art and emotions,” the company said in a statement.”
Vygor is the emotion to see a unique work of art challenging the road with proud eyes, the body sinuous like a feline and the elegance of a dream; an emotional car, like a windblow in the skin, like a thrill of sudden pleasure which takes your breath away…and unleashes emotions…”

The statement continues – “the emotion to hear the thunder of the engine which is pure adrenalin, aggressive and biting as you have always dreamt but also mild as silk… the emotion of touching a panther… the emotion of taming the power…”

We’re not sure what the sports will be powered by – a naturally aspirated V8, a turbo V6 or an electric sports car.

All we know is there is a new Italian sports car maker by the name of Vygor and this is the teaser for their new model.

The One Concept is another of the new automakers with big supercar promises, this one in particular being one of the premiere all-electric supercars, and the most powerful.

An impressive four-digit horsepower figure of 1088hp at 2802 lb-ft is generated by four electric motors combined. Rimac is also promising a 0-62mph time of 2.8 seconds, with a top speed of 190mph, electronically-limited.

Rimac’s One Concept is also being given an estimated range of 373 miles.

What do we have here? You’re looking at the first teaser (and probably the last) of the new 2012 Toyota Avensis sedan prior to its debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show on Sept. 13. From the looks of it, the Avensis is receiving a nice makeover – a makeover that’s long due since 2008.

“The changes to the British-built Avensis include revised exterior styling, incorporating a frontal treatment that follows Toyota’s new design language,” Toyota said in a statement. “The quality look and feel of the interior have been improved and strategic changes have been made to the powertrains and driving dynamics. Together, these changes represent the largest mid-life investment Toyota has made for any model.”

The new Toyota Avensis will be joined by the Prius Plug-in Hybrid and the seven-seat Prius+ along with the 2012 Toyota Hilux and Toyota Yaris.

Earlier this month, Subaru kept us excited by teasing one of its 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show debuts – a new crossover based on the XV Concept that the brand unveiled at the 2011 Shanghai Motor Show.

The company has just released another teaser of the XV, giving us a close look at what the rear-end of the crossover will look like when it hits dealers.

“The Subaru XV was developed under the concept of ‘Urban Adventure’ as a new type of crossover vehicle featuring a sporty and casual design,” Subaru said in a statement. “The XV projects the unique value Subaru aims to bring to the C-segment crossover market. Toyota has just confirmed that it will unveil the 2012 Toyota Camry on August 23, 2011.

“This first-of-its-kind reveal for Toyota will include a presentation by Bob Carter, Toyota Division group vice president and general manger, live from Hollywood, and a visit to the Camry plant in Georgetown, Ky. to view the first vehicle coming off the assembly line,” Toyota said in a statement.”In addition, a special NASCAR-related announcement will be made as part of the program.”

I’m not really going to get into the whole talk about the 5 Infiniti JX teasers we’ve previously seen but the brand today dropped the sixth teaser, which gives us a closer look at the grille and the curvaceousness of the hood area.

There is just one more teaser shot to go before we see the Infiniti JX Concept on Aug. 18 at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in Monterey, California.

The production Infiniti JX will debut at the 2011 LA Auto Show in Nov. and will go on sale shortly after.

Toyota today released teaser number 2 of the 2012 Camry, which we’ll see later this year. Teaser no. 2 gives us a little glimpse of the rear-end of the new Camry, specifically the tail lamp.

So far we like what we see, however, we feel overall Toyota will totally have to knock the next Camry out of the park as competition from the Hyundai Sonata.

Subaru has released a teaser of a new model that it will show at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. Known as the Subaru XV, the model is a new crossover based on the XV Concept the brand unveiled at the 2011 Shanghai Motor Show earlier this year.

“The SUBARU XV defines a new generation of Subaru crossover vehicles,” Subaru said in a statement. “It is the production version of the design concept “SUBARU XV CONCEPT” displayed last April at Shanghai motor show. The concept was favourably received globally thanks to its distinctive and trendy design which blend a crossover-like commanding silhouette and an urban friendly image into one harmonious and elegant package.”

The 5-passenger Subaru XV Concept is powered by a 2.0L 4-cylinder Horizontally-Opposed DOHC engine mated to a Lineartronic CVT transmission. Technical details of the production Subaru XV will be announced in Frankfurt. Stay tuned.
