Saab announced that it will show a limited edition of the 9-5 at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show next month. The Saab 9-5 Griffin Edition offers a more sportier and aggressive look with a variety of premium standard equipment. Of course all that premium standard equipment will come at a higher-cost to you with prices starting at $42,775 for the 9-5 Sedan and $44,045 for the 9-5 SportCombi.

So what are you paying extra for? The exterior of the Saab 9-5 Griffin features a new matte-chrome front grille, xenon headlamps, a rear-spoiler on the trunk lid and matte-chrome roof spoiler and roof rails on the 9-5 Griffin SportCombi models. You also get a set of 5-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels plus Griffin badges on the front fenders to let people know your 9-5 is better than theirs. The Saab 9-5 Griffin will be available with six metallic colors including Jet Black, Snow Silver, Nocturne Blue, Pepper Green, plus the new Carbon Grey and Glass Grey.

Inside the 9-5 Griffin you are welcomed by a high-gloss interior trim, floor mats with grey piping, accent color stitching on the steering wheel, shift lever and handbrake as well as on the leather sport seats. Additional standard equipment includes a rear parking assist system, heated outside mirrors that are power-adjustable, foldable and feature auto-dimming.
