Upgrades to the turbochargers, exhaust manifold, catalytic converters, air filters, and ECU combine to make the 150hp gain, along with an additional 96 lb-ft of torque. This puts the total power output at 700 horsepower and 649 lb-ft of torque, giving the Panamera a 0-62 mph time of just 3.5 seconds, a .2 second shave off the stock version, with a top speed of 211mph.

Edo also dropped the body by 30mm all around, and sticking it to the pavement is a set of 22-inch carbon-fiber finish wheels, wrapped in a wider set of rubber.

In Sept. 2011, the new 360-hp Infiniti M Hybrid set the Guinness World Record for the world’s fastest hybrid by running the standing quarter mile in 13.9031 seconds. Infiniti is now banking on that move with a new commercial released yesterday called ‘The Duel.’

The commercial shows the Infiniti M35h Hybrid going head-to-head with the 2012 Porsche Panamera S Hybrid.

“‘The Duel’ is an exciting way to remind everyone that the Infiniti M Hybrid is the world’s fastest accelerating full-hybrid with 360 horsepower and 32 miles per gallon,” said Infiniti Americas Vice President Ben Poore. “At Infiniti, we believe that luxury should always thrill and inspire.”

Refresher: The Infiniti M35 Hybrid will be powered by a single electric-motor/twin-clutch arrangement, mated to a naturally aspirated 3.5L V6. Together the system makes 360-hp. The first-clutch is installed between the V6 engine and the electric motor, which Infiniti says allows for a more responsive drive. Infiniti said that the M35 Hybrid, which will carry a lithium-ion battery pack, has the ability to run solely on electric-power under certain driving conditions. 0 to 62 mph comes in 5.5 seconds with an EPA-rated fuel-economy of 27/32 mpg (city/highway).

Refresher: Power for the 2012 Porsche Panamera GTS comes from a modified 4.8 liter naturally aspirated V8 engine making 430-hp at 6,700 rpm with a maximum torque of 384 lb-ft. The engine is mated to the 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) transmission in the Sport Chrono package, which comes standard. That allows 0 to 60 mph to come in just 4.3 seconds with a top speed of 178 mph.

To provide driver’s with a sportier experience, Porsche started with the 4S and dropped the body 10mm, tightened the damping system, and tuned the chassis with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), and air suspension. The two systems connect the body and chassis, and regulate height, leveling, and spring rate. Stability is also further enhanced with wheel spacers that widen the rear axle track.

The appearance of the Panamera GTS was only slightly altered, but features black highlights and subtle distinguishing characteristics around the body. Sitting on the inside, the Panamera welcomes you with adaptive sports seats, a limited GTS leather interior, Alcantara surfaces, and a SportDesign steering wheel with shift paddles.

Porsche modified the S/4S 4.8-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine to give the GTS an additional 30-hp, putting the power output to 430-hp at 6,700 rpm. Torque has been increased from 360 lb-ft to 384 lb-ft, as well. The motor is coupled with a 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) transmission in the Sport Chrono package, which comes standard. This transmission is designed to transfer power seamlessly to the all-wheel drive system. These systems combine to move the GTS from 0-60mph in just 4.3 seconds, with speeds topping out at 178 mph.

A set of 255/40 tires up front and 285/40 in the rear stick the Panamera GTS to the pavement. Stopping power is provided by the bigger-diameter Panamera Turbo system, with Porsche Ceramic Composite Breaks (PCCB) still an option.

This is awesome blend of function and form, and was topped off in the Panamera GTS with the raw power of its naturally aspirated motor.

SpeedART gave the Panamera 3.0-liter V6 diesel software upgrades and a SpeedART exhaust. The result is 50 additional horsepower, putting power at 300 horses to the rear wheels, and has torque kicked up from 406 lb-ft to 479 lb-ft.

SpeedART’s Panamera also gets 22-inch alloys cushioned by a pair of 256/ZR22 tires in front, and in the rear a pair of 305/XR22’s. An upgraded break system has been added, as well.

As the focus of the tuner, the new aerodynamic kit features a unique rear diffuser, and a bigger rear wing. The whole package adds 60mm on both ends of the car. A new set of wheels have been added in Forged Gunmetal, sized at 9.5×22, with 265/30ZR22 tires in the front. The rear gets 305/25ZR22 tires to wrap the 11.0×22 inch wheels. Inside, leather and Alcantara options are available, along with a set of aluminum pedals and piano lacquer for the trim.

A lowering module is provided by Hamman that drops the Porsche by 30mm all around. In terms of performance, Hamann also increased the output by 79-hp (total of 579-hp) and 88.5 lb-ft of torque (total of 605 lb-ft).

Porsche sources have confirmed with CAR Magazine that the company will launch a long-wheelbase Panamera early next year. The long-wheelbase Porsche Panamera will get a 150mm wheelbase extension that will free up more room for rear-seat riders.

Of course the Porsche Panamera long-wheelbase will be popular in China, where long-wheelbase versions of the BMW 7-Series and Audi A8 are very popular.

Insiders in Stuttgart say that the Porsche Panamera sedan will undergo a “comprehensive” facelift in 2013 to keep the model fresh.

Porsche’s sales and marketing head Bernhard Maier said that the company expects its new-car sales in Europe to grow significantly.

“In Europe, a 20 percent growth rate is absolutely conceivable,” Maier said.

Maier said that new products like the next-generation Porsche 911 and the Porsche Panamera S Hybrid and Panamera Diesel.

Last year, the company sold around 37,000 cars in Europe and had orders for 44,000. Globally, Porsche sold 97,000 units in 2010 and Maier said that the company is aiming to break through the 100,000 unit barrier this year. Long term, Porsche has goals to double annual sales to 200,000.

Will their every be a Porsche Panamera Convertible? Maybe – but most likely not. So what does Porsche have planned for its only four-door sedan model? Not much really.

Besides handing over the platform to its future family members Audi (for the A9) and Lamborghini (for the Estoque sedan), Porsche is likely to drop the manual transmission that is currently offered on the naturally aspirated, rear-wheel-drive V6 and V8 miles.

Many of you many think Porsche and Lamborghini as supercar competitors – well, you’d be wrong. Both brands are from different ends of the spectrum but may soon be joining forces on share platforms.

According to a new report, Porsche is providing Lamborghini with a new platform that will underpin its 4×4 SUV model and Estoque sedan models. As Porsche moves to finalize its merger with Volkswagen Group owned Lamborghini, we’ll see many collaborations such as this one here.

Insiders suggest that Italian automaker plans on using the Porsche Cayenne platform for its 4×4 SUV model and the Porsche Panamera platform for the Lamborghini Estoque sedan.

“Ferrari can’t follow into this market, because it has no links to SUVs at all,” a source said. “Lamborghini is entirely credible as an SUV maker, but it can’t do it alone. And as Porsche has shown it already knows how to do it, it makes sense to work together.”

TopCar has created a body kit specially designed for the Porche Panamera called the Stingray GTR. Only 25 will be released and each kit will be unique. The mods will be both aestheic and technical. The company is using its own manufactured parts, all made of carbon fiber and Kevlar.

Body style modifications include front and rear bumpers, bonnet, doors, and fender extenders, and side skirts. Perhaps the most outstanding feature of the TopCar kit is that the vehicle has been significantly widened. An automatic push button release has been added for opening the doors.

To match the aggressive styling of the exterior modifications, a bespoke styling is available for the interior. Also, two performance packages will be offered, including 600-hp 4.8 liter V8 that includes an upgraded intake manifold, air filter, and exhaust. If you still need more speed you can opt for the 700-hp version. Selecting any variation of the individual options will start at $63,500.

We’d like to remind you that the company had already produced aerodynamic body kit Porsche Panamera Stingray before. This body kit was made to enhance the shape of a standard car. Later, the company TOPCAR received a lot of clients’ requests who would like to have more aggressive and “charismatic” car.

Therefore, the company TOPCAR decided to create an entirely new and “all-sufficient “car based on the Porsche Panamera. This time we outstepped a simple design improvement of the factory model. Most of body elements have been re-created. It includes front and rare bumpers, bonnet, front and rare fender extenders, front and rear doors, side skirts. That’s the reason why you can’t call the Porsche Panamera Stingray GTR a classic aerodynamic body kit. It is essential to highlight that the car has become much wider. Extended wings, advanced air vents, sharp outlines of blade front bumper and bonnet, strongly-marked rear diffuser and spoiler on the boot lid, all this created absolutely new aggressive style. Rear doors and wings are visually combined. Now, to open the back door, you need to press a small button and the door opens automatically. All new bodywork components made from carbon fiber and Kevlar by company TOPCAR itself.

Porsche Panamera Stingray GTR is a limited range, which includes only 25 cars. Each car in the range will have its special features and be unique in one’s way.

It’s obvious that our tuning program involves both design and variety of other technical improvements. The programs to higher engine performance are available for Turbo version cars. A new sport air filter, intake manifold, motronik and valved exhaust system increases car power by 600 hp. Moreover the power might be increased by 700 hp in case sophisticated modification of the engine. It is also possible to insert sports brake system Brembo.

Earlier today, Porsche unveiled the new Porsche Panamera Diesel, which will go on sale in Europe starting August 2012. One of Porsche’s most fuel-efficient models ever, the Panamera Diesel is powered 3.0L V6 common-rail diesel engine making 250-hp between 3,800 rpm and 4,400 rpm with maximum torque of 405 lb-ft available between 1,750 rpm to 2,750 rpm. Mated to a 8-speed Tiptronic S, the Porsche Panamera Diesel goes form 0 to 62 mph in 6.8 seconds with a top speed of 150 mph.

Not bad when it comes to performance, but what about fuel-efficiecny. Porsche says that the new Panamera Diesel will achieve an estimated fuel-economy of 37.3 mpg (when converted to U.S. figures) and will offer a driving range of more than 745 miles.

The Porsche Panamera Diesel costs £62,134 ($103,445 USD). Unfortunately, the Porsche Panamera Diesel won’t be coming to the United States anytime soon.

On sale from August 2011, the Porsche Panamera range extends with the introduction of the new Panamera Diesel, further enhancing the model’s appeal to UK customers. A luxury Gran Turismo, the Panamera Diesel is capable of taking four passengers in sporting comfort from Lands End to Loch Ness without refuelling.

Coping effortlessly with short bursts of speed and cross country touring, this long distance sporting performance is delivered by the smooth-running 3.0-litre V6 engine with a rated output of 250 hp (184 kW) achieved between 3,800 rpm and 4,400 rpm. The maximum torque of 550 Nm, available all the way from 1,750 rpm to 2,750 rpm, delivers high pulling power. It is exclusively available with rear-wheel drive and uses a highly efficient eight-speed Tiptronic S as standard. The six-cylinder turbo diesel engine powers the new Gran Turismo from 0 to 62 mph in 6.8 seconds, with a top speed of 150 mph.

The Panamera Diesel offers a highly appealing driving range of more than 745 miles on one 80-litre tank, emits 172 g/km and delivers a Combined fuel economy of 43.5mpg. With the optional lower rolling resistance tyres, efficiency improves further still, to 167 g/km and 44.8mpg on a Combined cycle.

The model’s 3.0-litre V6 engine is state of the art in diesel technology: common rail direct injection through piezo valves at a pressure of 2000 bar, turbocharging employing electrically controlled variable geometry turbochargers (VGTs) and emission control achieved by controlled exhaust gas recirculation, oxidation catalyst and particle filter.

Performance, generous torque and low consumption are accompanied by smooth running, reliability and low emissions. An additional contributing factor is the auto start/stop function, which is fitted as standard. Adaptive air suspension is available as an alternative to the standard steel spring suspension, to provide an even wider range of suspension settings to extend the driving qualities further still.

Through its proportions alone, the Panamera stands out clearly in its market segment: measuring 1931mm (76.0in) in width and 1418mm (55.8in) in height, the Panamera is both wider and lower than comparable four-door models. The unmistakable, sleek GT silhouette is created by an overall length of 4970mm (195.7in) and short, sporting overhangs front and rear. This new model can be recognised by the lettering ‘diesel’ on the front doors.

Every Panamera, including the new Diesel model, has a high level of standard specification that includes leather interior, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Bi-Xenon headlights, front and rear ParkAssist, tyre pressure monitoring, automatic dimming rear view mirrors, Porsche Communication Management with touch-screen satellite navigation and audio controls, cruise control and a three year warranty.

While the Porsche Panamera S Hybrid averages a fuel-economy of 34.5 mpg combined, the hybrid sport-sedan still offers some impressive performance figures that will probably steal customers away from the ActiveHybrid 750i and the S400 Hybrid.

We think Porsche has definitely got a winner here.
