Seeing even one supercar start up its engine in front of you gives you goosebumps – but how about seeing 22 supercars start-up? That’s what we have here courtesy of a YouTube video by hannes911.

Among the supercars you’ll see in the video include the Lamborghini Gallardo, Lamborghini Murcielago, Ferrari 458 Italia, Ford GT, Pagani Zonda, Koenigsegg Agera R and many more. Personally, I think the Pagani sounds the best.

Pagani Zonda F Roadster

Here is a true story about miracles happening on Earth. A 28-year old German man driving a 2007 Pagani Zonda Roadster F crashed while traveling a reported 198.8 mph on Italy’s A10 Autostrada. According to authorities, the man was racing an unidentified Mercedes-Benz before losing control and hitting a guardrail. Both the driver and his 21-year old passenger managed to crawl out from the crash unhurt.

Police said that they immediately revoked the driver’s license. Apparently, this wasn’t the first time the man was involved in trouble with the Italian police. He was fined a huge amount in April 2010 for illegally racing a Lamborghini Gallardo near the same highway.

Let’s hope he’s learned his lesson this time around.

Pagani Huayra leaked image

Pagani is continuing with the teasing of its next model, which will be know as the Huayra. Along with the fourth teaser released today, a picture of the Huayra (also known as the C9) has been leaked on the Internet.

Pagani C9 Interior Teaser

Following the first teaser, which really didn’t show us much, Pagani today released a second teaser for the C9, the supercar that will replace the Zonda. The second teaser gives us a closer look to the interior of the C9.

It was reported earlier that the C9 may carry the Huayra nameplate when it launches later this year.

Ok, so I lied when I said the Ferrari 458 Italia was the benchmark for precision performance and handling. The 458 is still epically untouchable…but is a bit rather pedestrian when pinned against the Pagani Zonda. Yes, one is a supercar while the other is a hypercar and so it can get iffy when comparing the two back to back, but what Pagani pulls off with the Zonda is something that Ferrari or Lamborghini could never do. Pagani combined the most advanced engineering with record-breaking performance, in a package that will inspire prepubescent children by taunting them in picture frames on their walls, and one that’s relatively easy to drive when compared to the competition. But as time carries on, the Zonda will soon be left in the pages of history when they first were established, which is why Pagani is already in the works for a replacement. And just to tell you how excited I am, from writing this post alone I reassure myself that erectile dysfunction is far from being a health issue for me.

But as excited as I am about the forthcoming Zonda replacement, the only details pretty much happen to be rumors at the moment—sorry to let you down. However, I can tell you what the Zonda replacement will potentially be named.

Named after the word for wind in the ancient South American language of Quechua, the Zonda replacement will be named the ‘Huayra’ (Don’t ask me exactly how to pronounce that because I’m struggling myself), according to current rumors. It was revealed through Al Volante, an automobile publication in Italy after Pagani put in a request to trademark the name in the EU.

Now, you might be thinking, well, where the hell did they come up with that? Just to fuel some thought, founder Horacio Pagani is originally from Argentina and Pagani has a tradition—albeit a short one—of naming their cars after famous winds.

Other than that, the Zonda replacement remains a complete mystery. There is a YouTube teaser spot suggesting that a shot of espresso is more important, but you do catch a glimpse of the design a la key-ring model. While I may not have to worry about erectile dysfunction from writing this, the suspense is going to keep me up for more than four hours…I might have to call my doctor!!

Pagani Zonda RAK

While Pagani continues to work on the successor of the Zonda (known as the C9), the automaker keeps revealing one-off versions of the supercar before it bids it farewell.

The new Pagani Zonda RAK features a two-tone black and yellow exterior paint job, dark alloys, a custom interior with sport bucket seats and carries a price tag that is estimated to be around the 1.5 million euro mark.

Power for the Pagani Zonda RAK comes from a 7.3L V12 AMG engine from the Cinque. Output comes in at 710-hp allowing for a top speed of 217 mph.

Recent one-off Zondas include the Zonda 750 and the Zonda HH.

Pagani Zonda

It goes without saying that Americans have been pretty deprived of supercars since most of them never really comply with the Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Transportation regulations. Pagani is out to change all that with the successor to the Zonda, which it says will be homologated for the United States, a market that has been closed to the company since the Zonda never complied with EPA and DOT standards.

Internally known as the C9, the replacement to the Zonda will feature a radical change in its engine, transmission and manufacturing setup.

According to sources, the C9 will use a 6.0L V12 engine making around 700-hp and 730 lb-ft of torque. The engine will be most likely derived from the same motor used in the Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series.

Engineers are working to keep the weight around 2,731 lbs meaning that the C9 will end up being significantly more powerful than any of the current road-going Zondas.

Tiff Needell test drives Pagani Zonda R

Before Pagani puts the Zonda supercar to rest, Fifth Gear host Tiff Needell wanted one last crack at it. In the latest segment of Fifth Gear, Tiff gets behind the track oriented Zonda R to give it his last farewell.

The Pagani Zonda R recently beat the Ferrari 599XX’s Nurburgring lap time of 6:58.16 and managed to return 6:47.5.

Pagani Zonda 750

Pagani is scheduled to end production of the Zonda and replace it with a new supercar known as the C9. However, until that day arrives, Pagani is more than willing to build one-off versions of the Zonda for wealthy clients.

We don’t have much information on this Zonda, known as the Zonda 750, but the model receives a few special touches including a purple paint job, a customer rear window instead of a roof-mounted air intake and some special wheels.

Power will come from the 7.3L V12 Mercedes-Benz AMG sourced engine making 750-hp.

Earlier this year, Pagani built a one-off Zonda HH for David Heinemeier Hansson, a 30-year old software guru.

Pagani Zonda Tricolore

At the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, Pagani unveiled a one-off special-edition model called the Zonda Tricolore. The model was built in honor of Italy”s equivalent of Blue Angels and carries a color scheme used by aeronauts ““ including blue tinted carbon fiber and pairs of red, white and green stripes running down the hood.

Well, Pagani has now released a video of the Zonda Tricolore sharing the runway strip with a Blue Angel and it’s one hell of a video.

Pagani Zonda HH

Later this year, Pagani will deliver a one-off custom built Zonda to a very rich American. While we have no idea who this “very rich” American is, we do know that this Monterey Blue Zonda, known as the Zonda HH, is 30 percent lighter and weighs in at around 1,210 kilograms (2,670 lbs).

Power for the Pagani Zonda HH comes from the Mercedes-Benz V12 AMG making 680-hp and a maximum torque of 575 lb-ft. Power is transmitted to the wheels through a proper manual gearbox.

As you guys already know, Pagani will only be making five pieces of the Zonda Cinque for five wealthy Pagani lovers – that puts this Zonda in the very exclusive category. The first unit is now on sale and is going for a whopping € 1,600,000 ($2,043,944 USD).

Other than getting you the rights to be one of the give owners that $2 million will get you behind a 678-hp AMG V12 engine with a maximum torque of 575 lb-ft. The 0 to 62 mph run comes in 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 214 mph.

Pagani recently approved plans for a new bigger/better factory that will make room for the upcoming C9 that will be launched in 2010 replacing the current Pagani Zonda F. But before that happens, Pagani will finish working on the Zonda R, of which only ten units are planned. Pagani today dropped some more renderings of the upcoming Zonda R for our viewing pleasure.

While it may look just like the Zonda F, the Zonda R only uses 10 percent of Zonda F components. Other than that, the Zonda R was designed from scratch. The wheelbase of the Zonda R has grown by 47mm and the overall length has been increased by 50mm. The bodywork and aerodynamics have been revisited to offer maximum downforce. Power will come from 6.0L V12 engine making 750-hp with a maximum torque of 523 lb-ft.

Work on the C9 is currently underway with 500,000 miles of durability testing. The C9 will also carry an AMG engine.

The Top Gear trio seems to be traveling a lot these days. Joining Clarkson, Hammond and May while they host Top Gear live at the MPH Prestige and Performance Motor Show will be a bio-fuel Koenigsegg CCXR Edition and Pagani Zonda F Carbon.

The bio-fuel Koenigsegg CCXR Edition is powered by a 4.8L V8 engine with two superchargers producing a total of 1018-hp. That allows for a 0 to 62 mph time of 2.9 seconds with a top speed of 254 mph. The Pagani Zonda F Carbon will come to MPH with its 7.3-litre V12 engine capable of 650-hp that allows for a 0 to 62 mph time of 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 214 mph.

Both supercars together cost a total of £2.17 million. You can catch the two cars along with Top Gear on Oct.30 through Nov. 2nd at the MPH Prestige and Performance Motor Show.
