For the 2012 model year, the Maxima sedan gets an upgraded exterior with a new grille, new rear combination lights, new 18-inch and 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels. Two new exterior colors are also offered including Java Metallic and Dark Slate.

Inside, the 2012 Nissan Maxima gets a new meter cluster illumination color (white instead of orange), dark piano-hairline trim, new Atlantic Cherry wood tone trim, a new metallic-finish trim and a new Cafe Latter interior color. Nissan also added a new audio segment display and new audio/HVAC knob design.

The 2012 Nissan Maxima continues to be offered in two models – Maxima 3.5 S and Maxima 3.5 SV, each powered by a 290-horsepower 3.5 liter V6 engine and Xtronic CVT transmission. There are no price increases despite a number of upgrades for the new model year.

2011 Nissan Maxima

Nissan has announced pricing on the 2011 Maxima, which is on sale now at dealerships in the United States nationwide.

“Revisions for 2011 include new rolled edge tailpipe finisher; new smoked headlights (Sport models); new dark chrome grille (Sport models) and unique shiny gray interior stitching (Sport models). Also offered are two new exterior colors, Metallic Slate and Brilliant Silver,” Nissan said in a statement.

The 2011 Maxima is available in two trim levels including the Maxima 3.5 S and Maxima 3.5 SV. Both are powered by a 3.5L DOHC 24-valve VQ-series V6 engine making 290-hp and are mated to the company’s Xtronic CVT transmission.

Nissan today announced pricing details for the 2010 Maxima sedan, which is on sale now at Nissan dealers nationwide. Prices start at $30,460 for the Maxima 3.5 S and $33,180 for the Maxima 3.5 SV. Both models are equipped with a standard 290-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 and Xtronic CVT with available paddle shifters.

What’s new for 2010? Nissan says that the 2010 model year includes “new wheel finishes, standard Bluetooth on all models and new or revised option packages – with features such as a new 7-inch color monitor and a 2GB Music Server.”

The 2010 Maxima’s Nissan Hard Drive Navigation System has been upgraded and now includes DVD playback capability, streaming audio via Bluetooth technology, XM NavTraffic Real-Time Traffic Information and XM NavWeather. XM Satellite Radio is now standard on Maxima 3.5 SV.

2010 Nissan Maxima:

Nissan confirmed back in June 2008 that it will be bringing a clean-diesel version of the Nissan Maxima to the U.S. by 2010. The move would have marked the first clean-diesel for the U.S. from Nissan. However, plans are now expected to change and the Japanese automaker will be joining several other automakers that are putting the brakes on their diesel launch strategies.

A spokesman told AutoObserver that there is “no official word yet” regarding the diesel engine for the 2010 Maxima. 

“We’re reviewing our mid-term product plans right now [some to be delayed, some potentially canceled], but nothing in concrete as yet,” the spokesman said.

The 2010 Nissan Maxima was confirmed to get a 3.0L V6 turbodiesel produced by its partner Renault.

The 2009 Nissan Maxima was just launched in June with pricing coming in at $29,290 and $31,990 for the 3.5 S and 3.5 SV respectively. Well, Nissan has just announced that due to the increase raw material cost, pricing on the 2009 Maxima is going up by $870.

The 2009 Maxima 3.5 S will now go for $30,160 while the 2009 Maxima 3.5 SV will go for $32,860. Buyers of the 3.5 SV can opt for the Sport Package which features a sports-tuned suspension, 19-inch alloy wheels, premium leather seats, paddle shifters and more. The Premium Package, available on both models, features a dual panel moonroof, 7-inch color monitor with RearView Monitor, Eucalyptus wood-tone trim and more.

Both models are powered by a 3.5L V6 that produces 290-hp mated to an Xtronic CVTO transmission. Fuel-economy comes in at 19/26 mpg (city/highway).
