“Nismo adds even more excitement and innovation to Nissan products. We now plan to inject that style and excitement into other models in the Nissan range,” says Shoichi Miyatani, President of Nismo.

Nismo already offers performance packages for the Nissan GT-R and a complete Nismo variant of the 370Z. The tuning department now aims to become more synonymous with performance and sports variants of mainstream Nissan models.

The new Nissan Juke Nismo Concept shown yesterday provides a hint of what the future might bring.

“The time is now right to let ordinary drivers experience what our racing drivers enjoy every time they head out onto the track. We aim to bring Nismo’s passion and focus on driving excitement to mainstream models, and the Juke Nismo Concept shows what we can do,” said Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn.

As a part of the expansion Nismo will open its global headquarters in Tsurumi, Yokohama in 2013.

The car was designed conjunctively by Nissan’s Nismo racing division and JR Motorsports Team to compete in the Blancpain Endurance series. The idea of the car is to resemble the original GT-R while being a purpose built racer. So essentially, it is a touring racecar.

The Nismo GT-R GT-3 participated in the qualification for the Blancpain this past weekend and had successfully ran 98 laps around the 4.41 km Magny-Cours closed road circuit in France for three hours and 440kms. The final position for the Nismo was eighth overall and sixth in class.

Today we bring you more pictures of the Nissan 370Z NISMO S-Tune Package adding to the already leaked collection we saw earlier.

The S-Tune Package is made by Nissan’s in-house tuning department for the new 2009 Fairlady Z (that’s what the Nissan 370Z goes by in Japan). The kit includes a new aerodynamic body kit consisting of a new front lip spoiler, new nose piece, side skirts, a rear spoiler, rear fenders and Nissan NISMO floor mats. Performance wise Nissan added a NISMO S-Tune suspension kit, a NISMO stainless exhaust system, S-Tube break pads and 19-inch Nismo LMZ5 wheels.

We’ve seen a leaked image of the 2009 Nissan 370Z with a NISMO S-Tune Package and you’ve probably seen a leaked JDM brochure on fan forums. Now, the folks at GTRBlog are breaking it down for us with some new information and some new images.

The 2009 Nissan 370Z will be available with two S-Tune Package straight from the dealerships. The first will be a simple Nissan S-Tune Aero Package that offers some aerodynamic upgrades. The package comes with an extension nose piece, new front lip spoilers, side skirts, a large rear spoiler, rear fender protectors and Nismo floor mats.

The Nissan S-Tune Performance Package will be the second package and will include a new Nismo stainless exhaust system, a Nismo S-Tune suspension, Nismo S-Tune brake pads, Nismo floor mats and 19-inch Nismo LMZ5 wheels.

Pricing will be confirmed at a later date.

With the Nissan GT-R Spec-V delayed by a couple of months, GT-R enthusiasts will have to ‘settle’ for the new NISMO Club Sport Package – the first official tuning package from Nissan itself. Details are still a little sketchy but we tried to do the best we could when translating the Japanese press release.

From what we understand the Chassis Package, which costs ¥2,205,000 ($20,258 USD), consists of a Bilstein Damp Tronic dampers giving the GT-R an adjustable suspension with 3-mode changes. The Carbon Bucket Seat Package costs ¥1,890,000 ($17,365 USD) and gives you two NISMO Recaro bucket seats – each can be purchased individually. Last but not least, is the Titanium Exhaust System Package which also costs ¥1,890,000 ($17,365 USD) and gives the GT-R a NISMO branded titanium rear diffuser which is built to the Spec-V standards.

The NISMO Club Sport Package for the Nissan GT-R has 3 year/60,000 km warranty. The package as a hold will set you back ¥5,460,000 ($50,242 USD).
