Known as the Wald International Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG Black Bison, the modifications inlde a new carbon fiber front bumper, angular air vents with LED lighting, blacked out front grille, a new rear bumper and diffuser, a roof spoiler and new rocker panels.

Wald also added a larger set of wheels and a sportier muffler with quad exhaust. The company also lowered the suspension to increase driving dynamics. Power output was left untouched.

A V63RS kit brings an awesome ratio, with the power output to 660-hp and 730 lb-ft of torque. It’s no surprise that the 0-62mph time clocks in just under the 4 second mark at 3.9 seconds, and top speeds reach 202mph. The significant power mods alone come with a price tag of $17,700.

The tuner also fitted the car with an upgraded set of breaks, lowered suspension, and a set of tires sized 265/30ZR20 up front and 305/25ZR20 in the rear, that wrap new 20-inch alloys.

Body kit options include front lip and boot lid spoilers, a rear diffuser, and custom interior options.

An aero kit has been fitted to the CLS 63 AMG with a new front spoiler and lip with black inserts on the stainless steel grille. The rear diffuser, trunk lid, and rear skirt have all also been fitted with new carbon fiber parts. The car rides on a set of 20-inch alloy wheels that compliment the exterior body kit.

Power upgrades are significant as Carlsson tuned the motor from 557-hp to 649-hp, cutting the 0-62mph time from 4.3 to 4.1 seconds. The exhaust has been upgraded to a stainless steel sport system with 4 oval ended pipes.

The CLS was also fitted with a C-Tronic Suspension, Carlsson’s patented version, and dropped 30mm in the front. An automatic device monitors the road condition and adjusts accordingly.

Inside, Carlsson used a variety of materials for its design including leather and Alcantara, root wood, and carbon fiber, along with other natural elements. All of the seats and door panels have been covered in Carlsson’s exclusive super soft leather. Carbon fiber accents the trim and velour floor mats have been added.

Carlsson also has a variety of additional options to select from for further customization.

The exterior mods include a set of Brabus Monoblock F Platinum Edition wheels. A full body kit adds more visually and also widens the wheel arches. A rear wing was added with the kit, that could have been done to suit the rest of the upgrades better.

Brabus calls its latest work the Rocket 800, which features a power upgrade that gets things moving at 789-hp and 811 lb-ft of torque. A 0-62mph time comes in at 3.7 seconds, helped along by the 7-speed AMG Speedshift MCT transmission. Top speeds, which can be reached in 23.9 seconds, hit 186mph.

Time for some speculation. Reports suggest that Mercedes-Benz will is planning a small sedan for late 2013 with Mercedes-Benz CLS inspired design. The car will be based on the upcoming front-wheel-drive B-Class, which will debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

Internally known as the Mercedes-Benz CLC or C117, the model will also be available in AMG trim. While standard versions of the model will ride on a front-wheel-drive platform, the AMG model will get an all-wheel-drive setup.

Power for the base models will come from a turbocharged 4-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines in Europe with output ranging from 108-hp to 207-hp.

The Mercedes-Benz CLC AMG will be powered by a twin-turbo 2.0 liter unit making 296-hp. It will be mated to a dual-clutch gearbox.

Kicherer released a subtle remake of the Mercedes CLS that makes interesting use of carbon fiber. The Mercedes CLS Edition Black has very sporty appeal, but still oozes luxury, especially on the inside.

Tuned using a sports exhaust and software change, the car gets bumped up to 470-hp. A Kicherer PowerConverter was added as well to increase pedal reaction time. Hand-made wheels provide a foundation for the Mercedes. The forged 20-inch wheels get stopping power from 4 and 6 piston breaks.

Outside, there are touches of carbon fiber that can be found in some unlikely places. The rear view mirrors, parts of the grille, other pieces are now carbon fiber. Matte black and carbon fiber can be found both on the outside and the inside of the car.

Getting pulled over is never fun. And if you are one to get pulled over often, consider the car your driving. It’s no news that what you’re driving can make the coppers see you as a huge red flag that says: “HEY PICK ME!” But some of the cars that were found to be the most ticketed may come to a surprise for some, because it did for us.

Quality Planning conducted a study by collecting data from law enforcement firms around the country and ranked the cars that are pulled over the most. The study is based on the number of moving violations that a car is issued per 100,000 miles.

Some patterns found that seven of the top 10 cars were most likely driven by women. And sure, you might think that the majority of the cars are also driven by the youth. But, you’ll be surprised as once again, seven of the ten total entries were most driven by individuals with an average age of 40 or higher.

These sort of studies always end up being interesting. So without further ado, the list:

Mercedes produced one of the best looking cars ever made in history back in 2004 with the CLS and has seen a lot of success from it. Not to mention, many other manufacturers followed in the innovative Germans’ steps by producing their own “four-door” coupes with prime examples being the Volkswagen Passat CC and the Hyundai Sonata.

Not too long ago, its was reported that the company is working on a smaller, less-expensive version of the Mercedes-Benz CLS. But just recently, some auto spies spotted a camouflaged “BLS” running about Germany’s soil.

Sources inside Mercedes said that the new “BLS” is aimed directly at the latest Audi A3 sedan and will be based on the A- and B-Class’s front-wheel drive platform. Engine wise, 1.8L gas and 2.1L diesel four-bangers from the current W204 C-Class will be offered and adapted in the new “BLS.” Also in the works are a hybrid version, a range-extending plug-in hybrid model as well as an all-electric variant. And depending on how much R&D gets completed, rumors suggest that an “F-Cell” hydrogen model could also be a possibility.

This does raise some questions though as Cadillac offers a model that has the same badge that Mercedes seeks to call this compact four-door coupe, which may cause a legal stirrup. And with this “BLS” going FWD, could this mean that Mercedes’ direct competitor BMW will have more reason to produce a FWD model to compete with the Mercedes “BLS?” Let us hope that it doesn’t.

Having an app for your new vehicle is almost becoming standard practice for the automotive industry. Mercedes-Benz is hoping on that bandwagon with a new Apple iPad app for the 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS. The app will be the first of a series of MY ’12 product apps and is available through the Apple App Store for free, Mercedes-Benz said.

“The new CLS-Class iPad App puts a spin on traditional communications by providing a media-rich, eco-friendly channel for prospects to learn more about the CLS-Class,” Mercedes said. “Although this app has been created as a tool for dealership sales associates, it can easily be obtained through the Apple App Store by consumers as well.”

2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS:

The product planners at Mercedes-Benz are up to something. According to reports coming out of the UK, the company is planning a high-performance four-door model that would fit about the Mercedes-Benz CLS and give it a rival to the Bentley Continental GT and high-performance models of the Porsche Panamera lineup.

Sources say that the model will have a more dramatic scheme than the CLS and will feature AMG engines and chassis tuning to justify a premium price tag – and by premium we mean considerably higher than the CLS.

Mercedes-Benz hopes to put the model alongside the CL coupe for markets (think Middle East) that want a high-performance, ultra-expensive four door sports car.

So why not just badge it a Maybach? Apparently there is a Maybach spin-off of the car in works.

Mercedes-Benz F800 Style Concept

Building on the success of the Mercedes-Benz CLS, the German automaker is planning a smaller version of the four-door-coupe. The new model is expected to be inspired by the new Mercedes-Benz CLS and the F800 Concept, seen at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show.

Based on Mercedes’ new front-wheel-drive MFA platform, which will also be used for the next-generation A and B-Class, the model is expected to attract younger buyers to the brand.

Fitting under the new 2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe, power for the smaller CLS will come from a choice of 1.4 and 1.8L turbocharged gasoline engines by Renault. The French automakers will also supply a 1.6L diesel, while Mercedes-Benz also plans on using its own 2.0L gasoline and 2.2L diesel in the range.

The new model is expected to arrive some time in 2014.

2012 Brabus Mercedes-Benz CLS

The new 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class is here and Brabus is ready to offer its modification kit for the new sedan. The new Brabus Mercedes-Benz CLS will make its debut at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show and will feature some exterior, interior and performance upgrades.

Brabus developed all the upgraded CLS body components in a wind tunnel and says that they are manufactured in OEM quality from flexible high-quality Pur-R-Rim.

On the outside, the Brabus Mercedes-Benz CLS gets a new front spoiler mounted to the production bumper, new air inlets with LED daytime running lights (available with either dark or chrome surrounds), Brabus sport fenders, Brabus sill skirts, a new Brabus rear apron, a Brabus rear spoiler and Brabus Monoblock wheels ranging from 17 to 20 inches. Interior upgrades include a custom-tailored cabin made from durable Brabus Mastik leather and Alcantara. Buyers can also add other upgrades including scuff plates with illuminated Brabus logo, a speedometer with a 213 mph dial, aluminum components such as pedal pads, door-lock pins and shifter,  carbon-fiber inlays for dashboard and center console. Brabus also offers wood trim in any color and grain you desire..

Performance tuning allows for an additional 31-hp on the Mercedes-Benz CLS 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY with a maximum torque of 413 lb-ft. For the CLS 350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY Brabus is offering the ECO PowerXtra D6S tuning kit. The plug-and-play auxiliary control unit can be installed by any authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer or any Brabus’ partner in less than 45 minutes.  Mated to the 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission, in ‘Eco’ mode torque is increased to 509 lb-ft. In ‘Sport’ mode, output is increased to 313-hp from 265-hp, allowing for a 0-62 mph time of 5.9 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph. Performance is enhanced through suspension upgrades that were developed in cooperation with BILSTEIN. The ride-height is lowered by 30 millimeters (1.2 in.). For those that have a 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS with a  AIRMATIC air suspension system, ride height is lowered by some 35 millimeters (1.4 in.) with the Brabus’ suspension upgrades.
