What if Ken Block were to take is new H.F.H.V Ford Fiesta rally race car to the streets of LA? Well, that’s exactly what he did recently to test out the new SYNC system on his race prepped Fiesta.

Block’s Ford Fiesta RS WRC HFHV, which stands for Hybrid Function Hoon Vehicle, had its normal 1.6L four-banger replaced with a Pipo Moteurs-built, 2.0L four-banger.

It’s definitely difficult as an everyday drive – but nothing is difficult for the Block.

Ken Block has become well know all over  YouTube for his Gymkhana videos that usually feature a ton of production work, a 600-hp hatchback and a huge budget.

He recorded the whole thing with a GoPro helmet HD cam.

We know it was only back in September that Ken Block brought us Gymkhana Three. But we’ve been eagerly waiting on the release of the next Gymkhana… until now.

That’s right ladies and gentlemen, it is August 16 and Mr. Block has finally released Gymkhana FOUR – a new 9-minute ‘Hollywood Megamercial’ featuring the new Ford Fiesta RS WRC HFHV.

Gymkhana FOUR was Ben Conrad (Zombieland and 30 Seconds or Less) and his team at Logan. The video also features Featuring robotic sharks, deranged zombies, and a hilarious cameo by the Epic Meal Time guys.

Ken Block has been a very busy man and still is as he is currently on tour, showing off his Gymkhana skills around the world. Just recently however, Block released his first teaser for his fourth installment to his ever so famous Gymkhana stunt video collection.

As we’ve provided coverage earlier, Ken Block will be getting a new rally Fiesta, dubbed the Hybrid Function Hoon Machine, that will have an all-new hybrid function and will be the starring car for his fourth video.

Not too long ago, we informed you of Ken Block’s latest Gymkhana tour, where he shows off his driving skills by thrashing a WRC-spec Ford Fiesta around a several stage rally crossed at his Gymkhana events around the world. At the Los Angeles, California show of the Gymkhana World Tour, Ken Block unveiled his latest weapon to tackle the rally courses.

As expected, it is a current WRC-Spec Ford Fiesta, but it features a new hybrid function that works in conjunction with the engine. Called the Ford Fiesta RS WRC HFHV, which stands for Hybrid Function Hoon Vehicle, Ken Block’s latest car had its normal 1.6L four-banger replaced with a Pipo Moteurs-built, 2.0L four-banger that’s based on the old motor.

The AWD system in the Fiesta was designed and built by Sadev and features a 6-Speed sequential manual with three adjustable and mechanical differentials.

“The H.F.H.V. is the best of all worlds for me,” said Ken Block himself. “The current WRC Fiesta is the greatest handling car I have driven, but it lacks the sheer grunt that the 2.0L engine in the WRC Focus created. The H.F.H.V. brings those two things together, and the result is a manic beast that is just too much fun to drive.”

Ford is looking to gain the attention of the younger market, dubbed the “Millennial Enthusiasts” with its new Ford Octane Academy.

The Academy opens up the opportunity for extreme sports enthusiast to compete in an online contest divided into four camps. Contestants enter via video submission proving they have the skills to keep up with the Academy’s pros for a weekend. Another way to help you win? Submit something showing “just you being yourself”, as per Ford. The four day competition will be filmed and has the potential to turn into a show, in reality TV fashion.

“Today’s Millennial generation is extremely influential so our job is finding new and inventive ways of communicating and connecting with them, which includes building our presence in the multibillion-dollar world of extreme sports,” said Jim Farley, Ford group vice president, Global Marketing, Sales and Service. “With an all-star lineup of drivers and vehicles, Ford is bringing fans directly into the excitement of action sports in a way only Ford can with the first-ever dedicated consumer experience for this energetic and expressive audience.”

Four camps will have one winner each that will receive the prize of a custom car produced by a team of noteworthy drivers. Ford’s Octane’s academy features Ken Block and Vaughn Gittin, Jr. among other pros.

November kicks off the first camp, which gives fans the chance to experience driving courses and events that the racers created, and even to drive the racer’s cars. The July 28 X Games 17 will mark the launch of the event. Entrees are being accepted at the Ford Octane Academy web site.

As announced last week, Ken Block and Ford have teamed up to launch a Gymkhana World Tour, which will feature stops in Austria, Australia and the United States.

“Designed to bring the Gymkhana experience to a live audience, each GWT stop will be unique not only in its location but in the content and layout of the Gymkhana course,” Ford said in a statement. “Out of each stop on the tour, Monster World Rally Team will create mini Gymkhana videos which will showcase the event.”

Block will take his Ford Fiesta on tour, which will coincide with key competition dates for Block in the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) and at X Games 17.

“I’m really excited about my Gymkhana World Tour this summer. I’m delighted that Ford is continuing to support my love of Gymkhana in the way that they are,” said Block. “It’s something that I really enjoy doing and the fans love it as well, so to have Ford on board as I go to do this sort of thing is amazing.”

The Gymkhana World Tour will stop in Vienna, Austria on July 10 followed by a stop in the United States on July 23 at the Dodger Stadium in an elevated area overlooking down town Los Angeles. The final stop in Australia will be held the week prior to the Rally Australia at Calder Park in Melbourne on September 2-3.

Ken Block has certainly gained a reputation for himself in his Gymkhana performances. While Mr. Block has exhibited his skills by partnering with Ford Motor Company, the Monster World Rally Team and recording his ability to toss a WRC-spec Ford Fiesta around a designated course on video, fans can now look forward to his latest live-audience motorsport event.

Ken Block will go on a world tour with stops in Austria, Australia, and the US to show off his driving skills. Upon each visit to the aforementioned locations, different driving courses will be constructed for each show.

Block’s Gymkhana World Tour will debut on July 10th in Vienna, Austria for two days. Those in the region who are interested can sign up with Ford of Europe and have a chance to win some grand prizes. The first being a chance to ride shotgun with Block as he drives around the road course and second is a chance to walk away with a limited-edition Monster Energy Drink Ford Fiesta. Only 30 winners will be chosen to ride with Block and 43 Fiestas will be given away.

The next stop is here in the US of A, where on July 23rd, Block will be showing off his performances at the Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, CA. Lastly, the final stop will be in Melbourne, Australia on September 2-3 where Block will appear at two Ford manufacturing plants, test drive a V8 Supercar and join up with Monster teammate Tyler Wright.

What if Ken Block was your boss? Would you have the nerve to take a shot at him? Of course, because Block would probably enjoy a little interteam rivalry.

Earlier this year, Ken Block released a video showing his WRC Monster Energy Ford Fiesta RS and his 2011 schedule of events. The video featured Dubstep, hot chicks, a WRC Fiesta and some showing-off. Following the Black recently teased Travis Pastrana during his Gymkhana Grid event for not knowing how to turn right – it was a shot at Pastrana’s NASCAR dreams.

Well, Pastrana has plotted his revenge and today he released a video his 2011 Subaru WRX ST with orange-and-black livery of Boost Mobile. Pastrana, however, forgoes hot girls and opts for more mature models.

Ken Block is well know for his hatred of tires and love for drifting. The professional rally racer with the Monster World Rally Team has become an Internet sensation with his Gymkhana drifting videos.

Well, Kenny from the Block will be turning in his drifting gloves for one day to make his Formula One debut in August when he’ll get the chance to drive Pirelli’s Toyota test car. Block will get the chance to have a one-off spin in the 700-hp 2009 Toyota F1 car, which will be used to test tires worn by Mssrs Vettel and Lewis Hamilton at the famous Monza circuit in Italy.

“I can’t wait to discover Formula One for myself,” says Block. “I need to be realistic about what I can do, but I know that it’s going to be a lot of fun and take hooning to a whole new level.”

Mark your calendars, Codemasters’ DiRT 3 is coming to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and the PC on May 24, 2011.

The game will allow players to drive a variety of Ford vehicles and compete against Ford motorsports superstars Ken Block and Tanner Foust in Rallycross, head to head races, and traditional Rally. Also, for the first time in a videogame, players can perform Gymkhana just like Ken.

DiRT 3's Gymkhana mode

We here at egmCarTech have a lot of respect for Ken Block and love his Gymkhana series. When DiRT 3 releases in 2011, the video game will feature an all-new Gymkhana game mode. The folks Codemasters Studios have released a new trailer video, captured entirely from in-game footage.

“Inspired by the 90 million plus views video series inspired by Ken Block, DiRT 3 Technical Consultant, the gymkhana mode lets you unleash your inner hoonigan as you perform stunts and jumps in purpose built arenas,” Codemasters said. “Express yourself in freestyle sessions or complete courses by performing spectacular stunts, racking up combos and chaining style points. You can also play or compete in online multiplayer and become a gymkhana stars by uploading your most spectacular runs direct to YouTube.”

Tanner Foust beats Ken Block at Gymkhana GRID Invitational

Last week, Ken Block invited some of the best drifters to take part in his very own drift challenge known as the Gymkhana GRID Invitational. The competition was a one-on-one showdown where two drivers attacked a mirrored course designed by Block.

After rounds of elimination with drivers like Vaughn Gittin Jr., Andrew Comrie-Picard, Dai Yoshihara, Stephan Verdier, Liam Doran, Bucky Lasek and other, Top Gear America’s Tanner Foust took the top spot beating Ken Block at his own game. Both drove a similar 550-hp AWD Ford Fiestas.

Ken Block's Gymkhana GRID Invitational

What’s better than watching Ken Block go sideways in Gymkhana part one, two, and three if you’re a car enthusiast? Probably nothing… until Block decides to do it live for his fans.

Known as the Gymkhana GRID Invitational, the live show will take place December 3 and 4 at the Irwindale Speedway in Irwindale, California. But it’s not going to be just Block driving. The Gymkhana Grid is a one-on-one showdown where two drivers attack a mirrored course designed by Block himself.

Competitors include Vaughn Gittin Jr., Tanner Foust, Andrew Comrie-Picard, Dai Yoshihara, Stephan Verdier, Liam Doran, Bucky Lasek and many more – except that (excuse us here we were influenced by the video) p*%$y Travis Pastrana, he’s forgotten how to turn right.
