The VW Touareg is a great SUV for young urban professionals or newlyweds looking to start a family; for some, though, it lacks the style and speed a car should have. For individuals in the second category, JE Design has put together a performance package for the German high-rider. A new ECU gives the TDI engine 404 horsepower and 686 lb-ft, up from 335 and 590 respectively.

The Touareg also takes on a touch of style in JE Design”s reenvisioning: a widebody kit gives the car a more aggressive stance, which is helped by a suspension lowering kit. New rims are also added, which at 22 inches are a definite increase on the stock, and also adds a dual exhaust to emphasize the increased sportiness of the car.

The entire package will sell for $19,340, or 15,210 Euros.

The new Touareg grew four centimetres in length in comparison to its predecessor. But only JE DESIGN enhances the width of this large VW as well. The new JE DESIGN Widebody-Kit in combination with the aluminium wheels and lower suspension setting bestows the SUV from Wolfsburg with significantly higher road dominance and an increased overtake prestige. The increased performance honours the wide construction”s promise in an impressive manner.

The JE DESIGN Widebody-Kit provides a completely new style for the Touareg, with a new sports radiator grill, front spoiler, front and back wheel arch kit, rear apron insert, roof spoiler and rear hatch blend for 4998 Euro including VAT (non-committal price recommendation). All of the components are fitted precisely, manufactured from Polyurethane (PU) and will be delivered already primed. The new additional headlights also provide the large Volkswagen with an even more unique front view.

Not only the components” perfect alignment, but also the ability to combine the components with all models of this series speaks for the engineering of the customizer from Leingarten, Germany. The widebody kit is developed to accommodate the Touareg standard version, but is also precisely fitted to accommodate designer packages “žChrome & Style” as well as “žTerrain-Style”. The pivot-trailer hitch can also be used as well as the different Volkswagen-muffler tips ““ regardless whether round or trapezium shaped ““ the JE DESIGN Widebody-Kit is designed to support it.

Alternatively, the JE DESIGN offers dual exhaust pipes for 595 Euro, which channels the exhaust fumes left and right through round bevelled stainless steel pipes in a diameter of 90 millimetres.

However, JE DESIGN is not limited to the visual transformation of the Touareg. Thanks to optimised engine management, the performance of the 4.2-liter TDI-engine has increased to 410 hp (302 kW) vs. the previous 340 hp (250 kW) and the maximum torque takes a leap from 800 to 930 Newton metres. Therefore the acceleration of this more than two ton vehicle from 0-100 kph only takes 5.4 instead of 5.8 seconds and the top speed now no longer ends at 242 but at 269 kph instead. The price of 2999 Euro already includes a one year warranty for the engine, the turbo charger, the transmission and the power train and can be extended to two years for an additional 199 Euro.

To ensure the newfound power is utilised to its full capacity on the road, the pneumatic electronic suspension lowering module will bring the vehicles 35 millimetres lower to the ground for a price of 1428 Euro.

As a result, the new aluminium wheels appear especially impressive. JE DESIGN equips the Wolfsburg-vehicle with the SUV-Select design, 10×12 inch aluminium wheels, back and front. For a total of 409 Euro the 30 millimetre wheel spacers on the front axel and 40 millimetres wheel spacers on the back axle additionally ensure that the wheel housing is optimally completed. For individual coordination, the wheels are available in four different finishes: shadow silver with a polished front surface, matte black with a matte silver front surface, graphite shiny silver with polished rim and matte graphite silver with polished rim. However, custom painted wheels are also available without problem so that each Touareg can become a customized vehicle. JE DESIGN offers the complete wheel package for 5190 Euro; single wheels are available for 690 Euro each.

The complete JE DESIGN upgrade, including assembly, paint and TÃV- registration is available for 19,750 Euro.

Of course, JE DESIGN will provide the respective TÃV-assessments for each component, so the specified assessments can be added to the vehicle registration without problem. Additionally, despite the performance increase, the Touareg is still in compliance with emission regulations and therefore eliminates problems during the emission control inspection.

Audi Q7 S-Line by JE Design

German SUVs have been growing in popularity among every type of car consumer, from stay at home moms to young urban professionals. The Audi Q7, a prime example of just such an SUV, therefore has a consumer base wide enough to draw the interest of any design firm willing to try their hand at developing a package. JE Design has done so, bolstering both the image and the intensity of the car with a body and performance kit.

A front spoiler, rear spoiler, and flared wheel arches help accentuate the Q7″s already substantial presence, while rear bumper extensions and new tailpipes add some style to observers standing behind the modified vehicle. In addition, headlight masks and new 22-inch wheels give the car a distinctly non-stock look and feel: in fact, with the wheels JE also adds a “steering angle limiter” to dissociate the wheels and the chassis. All this, along with lowering the car, make JE”s Q7 a force to behold on the road, in traffic, or stopped on a road or driveway.

On the road, though, is where JE”s Q7 draws the most attention; the performance upgrades guarantee the attention of all passerby- or, to be more specific, the attention of those you pass by. Upgrade to the 3.0 L TDI engine”s ECU allow for the extraction of just over 50 additional horsepower and 37 more lb-ft of torque, giving the massive automobile a 0-60 mph time of 8.4 seconds and a top speed of 136 mph, both up on the stock Q7 model. JE Design”s efforts on the Q7 have paid off, and consumers of all types- from soccer moms to young attorneys, actuaries, or accountants- should give this package at least a once-over.

Wide-bodied Audi with powerful performance: JE DESIGN upgrades the Audi Q7 S-Line

With its wide-body construction and increase in performance of more than 20 per cent, JE DESIGN transforms the Q7 into an SUV with enormous road presence and increased overtaking power. The 22-inch-wheels and the double exhausts emphasise this impression even more.

To start with the 3.0-litre standard diesel version produces 233 hp (171 kW). By optimising the engine control unit, JE DESIGN raises this figure to 285 hp (210 kW). As a result the maximum torque from the compression-ignition engine increases from 500 to 550 Newton metres and the top speed from 210 to 219 kph. The 2.3-tonne vehicle reaches the 100-kph mark in a mere 8.4 seconds instead of the 9.1 seconds needed by the standard version.

The new software for the engine control unit is provided by JE DESIGN for only 1499 Euro including VAT. This even includes a one-year warranty on the motor, turbo-charger, gearbox and drivetrain and which, for only 199 Euro, can be extended for a further year, as long as the vehicle is not more than two years old and has driven fewer than 100,000 kilometres. In their own workshop in Leingarten, Germany, the optimising process takes only three to four hours. Alternatively JE DESIGN can have the engine control unit picked up by courier and deliver it again the next day.

The vehicle’s assertive road presence is achieved by the wide body design. Using it, JE DESIGN makes the Ingolstadt vehicle take on an enormous width and gives the SUV an aggressive presence. The transformation covers the front spoiler corners which JE DESIGN offers for the Q7 S-Line in pairs, with and without the wide body kit (690 Euro), the twelve-part flared wheel arch kit including the door trim (2699 Euro), and the rear bumper extension with lozenge-shaped double exhaust outlets on both sides (1798 Euro). The forbidding look facing forward is achieved by the headlight covers (99 Euro). At the rear the spoiler tail unit, which in addition covers the C-pillars (1099 Euro), ensures the required down-force and puts the finishing touch to the uncompromising exterior.

The entire JE DESIGN Wide Body kit is not reserved only for the S-Line models. The engineers at JE DESIGN have developed the wide construction so that it fits on all Q7 models regardless of year of manufacture and the Facelift Model (apart from the W12 TDI).

The electronic lowering (1428 Euro) on the one hand improves the JE DESIGN Q7′s sporty appearance and at the same time heightens the SUV’s passion for bends. At 35 millimetres nearer to ground level, the powerful vehicle definitely provides a livelier ride round bends and obstacles.

Inside the extended wheel arches, the SUV-Select 10×22-inch light alloy wheels in particular attract the eye. The graphite-silver rims with the polished edge strip and Ultra-High Performance 295/30-size tyres are available from JE DESIGN for 5190 Euro. The wheel spacers move the wheels at the front 60 millimetres, and on the rear axle 80 millimetres outwards so that they fit flush with the wider body (409 Euro). The steering angle limiter ensures the wheels cannot touch the chassis (49 Euro).

With the Q7 Wide Body kit, JE DESIGN turns the Audi Q7 S-Line into an SUV with overpowering domination on the road. The combination of 22-inch wheels, the lowering and the increase in performance demonstrates the high standards set by the customizer from Leingarten. As is to be expected, JE DESIGN supplies all components with the appropriate TÃV Certificate to ensure registration in the vehicle’s documents without further ado.

JE Design Volkswagen Golf GTI-R

The Volkswagen Golf has always been one of the automotive world”s most customized cars; everyone from amateurs working out of their garages to design teams have taken their crack at making the vehicle a car to race. Indeed, VW itself sported up the Golf by releasing the Golf R at the Frankfurt Auto show, and now JE Design has taken the GTI and created a similar model for buyers now.

Called the GTI-R, it produces 267-hp from the 2.0 L turbocharged engine- the same as V-dubs Golf R. And while the corporate attempt takes 6.9 seconds from 0-60, JE”s GTI-R does it in 6.4 seconds. The 160 mph top speed of JE”s creation also slightly trumps the original.

The car will cast a striking image as well: with side skirts and a central spoiler, as well as 19″ black alloy wheels, the car will not soon be forgotten. The sound, coming from a customized muffler, should impress as well. All in all, JE Design has created a strong offering from what it was given in the GTI; the question remains, however, whether buyers will prefer it to Volkswagen Golf-R, which comes to American shores in 2011.

JE Design has jumped on the bandwagon of offering Scirocco modifications and is offering a new tuning program that gives the Scirocco a new look, more power, and better handling.

The JE Design body kit, which sells for €919, adds a new front spoiler with a center spoiler with carbon-fiber look, new side skirts with air inlets, and a new rear spoiler that matches the other components also available in carbon-look. If you want to take it a step further, you can cash out an additional €1,549 for crash-tested gullwing doors and €899 for a new stainless steel muffler that comes with 2 oval pipes positioned at the center of the Scirocco’s rear. You can also opt for the 70 mm pipe diameter that increases horsepower by 11. €2,810 will get you 19-inch JE Design shadow silver wheels.

Power upgrades for the 2.0 TFSI Scirocco will costs you €1,249 and will give the hatchback a total of 244-hp – allowing it to go from 0 to 62 mph in 6.6 seconds. Performance can be further enhanced for €219 that will lower the Scirocco by 30mm.
