Ford, Honda fight for No.2 spot in U.S. hybrid sales
As reported earlier this morning, Ford’s U.S. hybrid sales were up 73 percent during the first nine months of 2009, as compared to the same period last year. Through September, Ford said it sold 26,016 hybrid vehicles with the new Ford Fusion Hybrid leading the pack.

Report: Honda, Toyota make $3,100 on every hybrid they sell
According to a report by Japan’s Nikkei newspaper, Toyota and Honda are making an estimated profit of about ¥300,000 ($3,100 USD) on every hybrid they sell. That is pretty close to what they make on small gasoline vehicles as well.
