John Hennessey’s much-anticipated Venom GT was scheduled to make its debut at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show but we guess they realized it would be overlooked by the million of Geneva debuts. The model will now make its world-debut on March 30th (hopefully it’ll be at the 2010 New York Auto Show) and we’re eagerly anticipating its first public appearance.

The new Hennessey Venom GT is built on a stretched Exige platform, which is nearly two feet longer in length and nearly a foot in width. Power for the Venom GT comes from an upgraded LS9 from the Corvette ZR1 making 750-hp. If that’s not enough for you, Hennessey is also offering a twin-turbocharged LS9 producing 1,000-hp and 1,000 lb-ft of torque in street spec and 1,200-hp in full-race spec. Power is sent to the rear-wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission.

Weighing in at just 2,395 lbs, the 1,000-hp model goes from 0 to 60 mph in 2.2 seconds with a top speed of 262 mph.

If you’re not excited for March 30th by now, then we don’t know what’s going to get you pumped.

Prices for the Venom GT are expected to start at $600,000 for the base model. The 1,200-hp model will run you $725,000.

The folks at Hennessey Performance have gotten their hands on the new Lincoln MKS EcoBoost and strapped on a couple of modifications to the 355-hp 3.5L V6 twin-turbocharged EcoBoost unit. Their upgrades resulted in a horsepower increase to 435-hp with a maximum torque of 405 lb-ft. That allows the Hennessey MaxBoost 435 (that’s what they call it) to go from 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds and to run the 1/4 mile in 13 seconds at 106 mph.

Hennessey Performance Engineering has announced that it is working on developing power upgrades for the new 2010 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor pickup with the 5.4L being the main focus. The tuner says that high-performance engine upgrades will increase output anywhere from between 450-hp to 1,000-hp.

In the mean time, Hennessey has its VelociRaptor 500 available for order. Upgrades include a new Supercharger System for the 5.4L V8 along with custom fuel rails, upgraded fuel-injectors, stainless steel headers, a stainless steel exhaust system and engine management software calibration. All the modifications help the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor return 501-hp with a maximum torque of 520 lb-ft. That allows for a 0-60 mph run in 5.6 seconds with and a quarter mile run in 14.1 seconds at 97 mph.

Hennessey is also working on upgrades for the Raptor with the 6.2L Coyote engine.

Yes, we are in love.

In May 2009, Hennessey Performance unveiled its performance package for the Cadillac CTS-V sedan.
Press Release:

HENNESSEY TUNER SCHOOL TRANSFORMS HYUNDAI GENESIS COUPE INTO 500-HORSEPOWER BEAST FOR SEMA

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., 10/29/2009 - Demonstrating the wide range of aftermarket potential for the Genesis Coupe, Hyundai Motor America has partnered with Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE) and the Tuner School to develop a powerful entry for this year’s Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show. The matte black, carbon fiber-wrapped Hennessey Genesis Carbon Coupe is designed with a high-end European look and performance capabilities to match. The vehicle will be in Hyundai’s display at the Las Vegas Convention Center Nov. 3–6, 2009 (booth # 24387).

Founded by HPE president John Hennessey, Tuner School is a 14-week program dedicated to teaching its students the secrets to success in the high-performance automotive aftermarket. It was established as a way to offer its students a one-of-a-kind opportunity to hone their craft, learn from professionals in the field, and springboard their career in the aftermarket industry.

“The Genesis Coupe architecture is the ideal platform for tuners looking to make everyday modifications to their vehicles and our students at the Tuner School took full advantage,” said Hennessey. “The visually stunning complete carbon fiber matte black wrap and high-end performance benchmarks create a monster SEMA car.”

HPE and the Tuner School will blow away the SEMA crowd with its Genesis Coupe achieving 500 horsepower at 6,000 rpm, 465 lb-ft of torque, an estimated 0-60 time of 3.9 seconds and a quarter mile time of 12.5 seconds. These aggressive performance capabilities were accomplished through a variety of engine modifications. The Genesis Carbon Coupe features a Hennessey Custom Single Turbo System, Precision 66 mm ball bearing turbocharger, Tial blow-off valve and 44 mm wastegate, a HKS boost controller and upgraded injectors and fuel pump, among other additions.

“To work with a leading tuner such as John Hennessey and his Tuner School is a testament to the potential of our rear-wheel-drive Genesis Coupe,” said Michael Deitz, manager, Product Planning, Hyundai Motor America. “With its 500 horsepower and 0-60 time of 3.9 seconds we expect this vehicle to be one of the stars of SEMA.”

On the outside, SEMA Show attendees will find Savini lightweight wheels with chrome lips and silver centers, Eibach springs and Brembo lightweight rotors.

HENNESSEY TUNER SCHOOL

Tuner School’s unique curriculum immerses its students in a combination of classroom education and hands-on experience, all while surrounded by the day-to-day operations of HPE’s 30,000+ square-foot facility. Spanning a range of horsepower-induced topics, including engine building, forced induction and dyno testing, Tuner School covers all aspects of building and modifying some of the fastest cars in the world. With dozens of high-horsepower vehicles coming and going, students are placed in a rare position to experience every nuance of working within a high-performance automotive business.
John Hennessey’s much-anticipated Venom GT is finally (we say finally because we’ve been hearing about the car since Dec. 2007) going to make its world-debut at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show.

Now if you think that the Venom GT bares a striking resemblance to the Lotus Exige S, that’s because it is one. The Venom GT is built on a stretched Exige platform, which is nearly two feet longer in length and nearly a foot in width.

Power comes from an upgraded LS9 from the Corvette ZR1 making 750-hp. If that isn’t enough for you (too much power is never a bad thing), Hennessey is offering a twin-turbocharged LS9 that makes a whopping 1,000-hp and 1,000 lb-ft of torque in street trim and 1,200-hp in full race trim.

Weighing in at just 2,395 lbs, the 1,000-hp model goes from 0 to 60 mph in 2.2 seconds with a top speed of 262 mph. Power is transmitted to the rear-wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission. Stopping power comes from 15-inch carbon brakes clamped by six-piston calipers on the front and 14-inch carbon brakes clamped by four-pot calipers scrub speed in the rear.

Pricing for the Hennessey Venom GT starts at $600,000. Those wanting 1,200-hp will have to cough up $725,000 and for those in Europe looking for a right-hand model, you’ll have to pay an extra $24,500.

Press Release:

Announces Limited Edition 705 hp Z700

Nurburgring-Tested Track Upgrade for the 2010 Corvette ZR1
SEALY, TX – The world’s fastest and most powerful production Corvette, the 638 bhp ZR1 has become the pinnacle of American sports cars. For most ZR1 owners, having a car capable of Nurburgring times of 7:26 is more than enough to satisfy performance to satisfy their need for speed. However, for the select few who subscribe to the mantra of “Too much horsepower is never enough” Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE) has something special in store for them in 2010. HPE is happy to introduce the company’s 705 bhp Z700 upgrade package for the 2010 ZR1.

Porsche 911 owners wanting the ubber Porsche can order the GT3 RS. Dodge Viper enthusiasts wanting the ultimate road race Viper have the ACR. Now ZR1 owners can opt for the Hennessey Z700 upgrade for their Corvettes.

Hennessey’s Z700 performance package starts by upgrading the engine supercharger, exhaust and air induction systems and is dyno tuned to 705 bhp. But this is just the beginning. Additional upgrades include lightweight carbon fiber wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires, which reduce rotating weight by nearly 60 lbs. Hennessey’s Z-Aero TM carbon fiber front splitter, canards and rear spoiler also add over 300 lbs of down force helping to put the added power to the road and track. Rounding out the Z700 upgrade package is a revised interior with lightweight carbon fiber seats, Alcantara steering wheel and shift knob.

HPE will be throwing its hat in the Ring – literally – and plans to begin testing the Z700 at the famed Nurburgring in Germany later in 2009. The company plans to build just 24 copies of this limited edition Corvette ZR1 for the 2010 model year. Each buyer gets 1-day of performance driving instruction in his or her new Z700 at Hennessey’s own private test track, Lonestar Motorsports Park. Lonestar, which is located next to the company’s facility, is located just west of Houston, Texas and has a full ¼ mile dragstrip as well as a 1.1-mile road course, which will soon be under construction.

Hennessey has given us plenty of reasons to fall more in love with the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro. After introducing its HPE550 package that gives the 2010 Camaro an outstanding 562-hp, Hennessey engineers are working on the HPE700.

The HPE700 package throws in the LS9 Supercharged V8 that is found in the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, boosting output to 705-hp with a maximum torque of 717 lb-ft.

Today, Hennessey released pictures of HPE700 engine swamp and we have to say, it fits quite nicely. The LS9 upgrade will cost you a whopping $39,500 over the initial price-tag of your Camaro. Hennessey says that it already has 13 orders for the HPE700. It will only offer 24 packages.

Hennessey is also working on an 850-hp and a 1,000-hp twin-turbo upgrade for $54,500 and $59,500, respectively.

As if the 556-hp 6.2L V8 in the Cadillac CTS-V wasn’t powerful enough already, Hennessey has went ahead and created a more powerful version of the Caddy beast giving those looking for (if you will) a ZR1 Sedan.

First in the lineup is the V600 package, which give the CTS-V a total of 610-hp allowing for a 0 to 60 mph time of 3.7 seconds (base CTS-V goes from rest to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds) with a top speed of 195-mph. Hennessey is offering 40 more horsepower with the V650 package.

Those looking for insane power can opt for the V700 package which allows for 700-hp. 0 to 60 mph comes in 3.1 seconds.

A V800 package is also available allowing for 800-hp and a maximum torque of 780 lb-ft.

So we all know by now that the 556-hp Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is on the back burner of GM’s product plans as they look for ways to reduce manufacturing costs. But there are people out there that are still looking for more than the 426-hp offered by the Camaro SS.

Tuner Hennessey has come to the rescue. Hennessey is offering its HPE550 upgrade for the Camaro SS that allows the GM LS3 V8 to produce a whopping 562-hp with a maximum torque of 557 lb-ft. 0 to 60 mph comes in just 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 119 mph.

If you’re the do-it-yourself type, Hennessey will send you a HPE550 package for $18,950 plus shipping. If you’d rather have Hennessey work on your Camaro SS labor costs will bring the pricing up to $24,950 (of course you’d have to provide your $31,000 Camaro SS).

If 562-hp isn’t enough, Hennessey is also offering the HPE700 Camaro package which uses the LS9 Supercharged V8 that is found in the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. The engine is tuned to produce 705-hp with a maximum torque of 717 lb-ft. The LS9 upgrade will set you back $39,500.

Oh, and if that’s not enough, Hennessey is also offering 850-hp and a 1,000-hp twin-turbo upgrade for $54,500 and $59,500, respectively.

About two days ago we brought you a video of retired John Heinricy taking the 2009 Corvette ZR1 with a Hennessey ZR700 package around a track. At first we thought the former head of GM’s Performance Division was just having some fun while feeding his need for speed. Well, it seems like Heinricy and Hennessey are up to something more… much more.

Apparently Heinricy, who drove the Cadillac CTS-V around the Nurburgring in a lap time of 7:59.32, is working with Hennessey Performance to take the Corvette ZR1 back to Green Hell for another crack at a record breaking time. The production version of the Corvette ZR1 currently sites in fifth-place in the world of Nurburgring lap times with 7:26.4 under its belt.

Heinricy and Hennessey are now planning to head back to the Nurburgring with a modified Corvette ZR1 with a 705-hp ZR700 Hennessey package under the hood. The ZR700 allows the Corvette ZR1 to go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds with a top speed of 212 mph.
