Hamann has created an exciting performance and visual upgrade for the new Abarth 500 and the Abarth 500 esseesse, offering a power increase of up to 271-hp and 280 lb-ft of torque – a significant upgrade from the models standard output of 133-hp and 158-hp respectively.

The lowest level of upgrade for the Abarth 500s offered by Hamann produces a total of 160-hp and 210 lb-ft.

Output upgrades come courtesy of ECU management, a turbocharger, upgraded air filter and exhaust system. Stopping power comes from four-piston calipers that can be seen through the 18-inch matte black wheels. Hamann is also offering a set of aerodynamic upgrades and has lowered ride height by 30mm on the front and 35mm on the back.

From the friendly bubble car to the wild beast: the HAMANN performance kits for the Fiat 500 Abarth and Abarth esseesse

At first glance, the Fiat 500 does not really seem to fit into the HAMANN-Motorsport programme. But the company based in Laupheim is not only one of the most renowned refiners for BMW-models and exclusive luxury cars, but also popular cars – and without any question the retro scooter surely belongs into that category. Since the model has been introduced in 2007, HAMANN has offered dynamic modification kits for the Cinquecento which meet large approval with the fans.

Now the next strike of genius follows: HAMANN provides the Fiat 500 with more power. The Abarth version is the centre of attention – Fiat´s sports model. Yet, the factory-made 135 hp sound rather modest. But HAMANN now changes that with five performance enhancements. Already the smallest upgrade “HS I” boots the little scooter up to 160 hp by applying some well-directed changes in the engine electronics. The torque rises from 206 to strong 285 Nm. But this is not yet the end for the 1.4 litre petrol car. The next upgrade “HS II” pushes the Abarth to 180 hp and 295 Nm torque. Software setting, modified exhaust turbo charger, optimised air filter case with sports air filter as well as a two-pipe end muffler – they all make this impressive result possible. But the HAMANN technicians even go one step further with the performance kit “HS III” which renders 210 hp and 310 Nm. This can be attributed to a turbo charger with smaller geometry, a new fuel supply and an optimised engine electronic.

The vehicle transforms from the friendly bubble car in the back mirror into the wild beast with the help of the two race-qualified modification kits which contain an entire engine modification. For the power setting “HS RACE” for example, HAMANN uses forged pistons, enhanced connection rods, a modified turbo charger with charge air cooler, a race clutch with weight-optimised one-mass flywheel and a new control electronic – altogether this renders 240 hp and a torque of 330 Nm. For optimum deceleration, there are sport brakes with a four-piston calliper and 264 mm or 305 mm large brake discs. The Abarth turns into a real missile with the modification kit “HS CINQUECENTO 575″. Compared to the “HS RACE”, it also contains a re-engineered cylinder head with adjusted camshaft, two charge air coolers as well as a self-locking differential. This leads to an impressive power of 275 hp while the torque is catapulted to 380 Nm.

Furthermore, HAMANN-Motorsport offers an alteration for the manual transmission. By applying a long fifth gear, the engine rev is decreased by 500 r.p.m. which allows a higher end speed. Moreover, customers can order a self-locking differential which allows a locking capacity of up to 50 percent and therefore significantly increases the traction. Both components and the power settings can be also combined with the Fiat 500 Abarth performance kit “esseesse” by the manufacturer.

HAMANN presents the remarkable broad built LARGO as a perfect match for the sporty power makeover. New aerodynamics components made of light composite materials are produced for the modified design language of the trendy Italian. Perfectly processed extensions seamlessly fit into the design and render a masculine appearance. The re-engineered front skirt with integrated LED daytime running lights is the striking eye-catcher. Special wing extensions are fitted at the front and the back. These make the car body wider by impressive 30 millimetres at the front axle and 35 millimetres at the rear axle. The perfectly designed side skirts act as a visual connection between the two. And also the new rear has much to offer: sports exhaust systems with two- or four end pipes and a Ferrari-like diffuser impressively enhance the back section. All HAMANN components do not only convince with their look, but also with their aerodynamics. They enable an optimised airflow over the vehicle silhouette and render additional downthrust.

Different HAMANN sports suspensions ensure a better handling and so does the newly developed design wheel LARGO FORGED ANODIZED which perfectly matches the new, sporty look. The black matt anodised, one-part rim is offered in the size 8.0 x 18 (front axle) and 9.0 x 18 (rear axle). HAMANN recommends tyres in the dimension 215/35 R18 or 225/35 R18. A favourable alternative is the cast rim HM EVO. The hallmark of the modern style shown in this 18-inch rim is the glossy black varnish with the diamond-polished rim star and the classy well. Five elongated and vaulted triple spokes confirm the visual and technical finesse. The rim is offered in the size 7.5 x 18. HAMANN recommends tyres in the dimension 215/35 R18 at the front- and 225/35 R18 at the rear axle. But it is not only the dynamic design of the rims that convinces its drivers, it is also the low weight that reduces the unsprung masses of the car.

As an alternative to the broad-build programme LARGO, the tuning specialist also offers the “sportivo-line” for the Fiat 500. Front skirt, side wings and rear skirt emphasise the trendy look of the retro scooter and so does the design wheel HM sportive I. The black matt varnished, one-part rim has a diamond-polished outer edge and is offered in 7.0 x 17. Here, HAMANN recommends tyres in the dimension 195/40 ZR17 or 215/35 ZR 17.

An aluminium pedal set including foot rest and a floor mat set with embroidered HAMANN logo accentuate the dynamic interior focus. The Fiat 500 Abarth programme is stylishly perfected with a flag decoration.

As mentioned before, tuners will have a strong presence at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. German tuner Hamann will come to the show with its new Tycoon EVO M, which is based on the 555-hp BMW X6 M.

Besides the noticeable visual upgrades, this modified X6 M gets an ECU upgrade, stainless steel high performance exhaust system with metal catalyzers and other enhancements. That allows for a total output of 670-hp and 575 lb-ft of torque. 0-62 mph comes in just 4.2 seconds (standard X6 M does it in 4.5 seconds) with a top speed increase to 186 mph.

The masculine show-piece on the HAMANN exhibition stand with 200 square metres is the world premiere of the 670 hp/493kW strong and 300 km/h fast TYCOON EVO M based on the BMW X6 M.

The TYCOON EVO M – powerful appearance with striking design

Already the shape of the TYCOON EVO M with its impressive broad built gives a good hint of what is to be discovered. Mainly responsible for that are the front and the rear wing extensions made of light composite materials. These let the body expand by impressive 60 millimetres. Additionally, the HAMANN designers enhanced the sides with the newly designed side skirts. The distinctive hallmark of the front is the apron with the four striking LED daytime running lights. But the body set does not only emphasise the appearance, enlarged air inlets in the front and the carbon bonnet allow an optimised air ventilation of the engine compartment. At the X6 M rear, HAMANN also replaces the original skirt with an own development. This makes room for the earthy sounding sports exhaust system with the centrally positioned double end pipes. The rear view of the TYCOON EVO M is perfected with beautifully designed rear- and roof spoilers. All of those components produce a low-swirling airflow over the vehicle silhouette and render additional downthrust.

Rich performance enhancement thanks to optimised exhaust gas flow

In addition to the spectacular shape of the TYCOON EVO M the HAMANN engine department added a powerful performance enhancement for the serial engine. The most significant component for the performance enhancement and responsible for the dynamic and earthy sound of the TYCOON EVO M is the stainless steel high performance exhaust system with metal catalysers. A newly programmed map for the serial motronic completes the upgrade and suspending the speed limit of 250 km/h allows unrestrained driving pleasures.

As a result of the modifications, the X6 M now offers 670 hp / 493 kW at 6,000 r.p.m. and 780 Nm torque at 1,500 – 5,650 r.p.m. This is a surplus of 115 hp and 100 Nm compared to the serial version. Therefore, the all-wheel accelerated from 0 to 100 in only 4,2 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 300 km/h.

Varying rim designs and sizes

Specially adjusted to the increased requirements of the TYCOON EVO M, the refining specialist presents varying wheel designs and sizes. A highlight concerning styling and technology is the rim model UNIQUE FORGED ANODIZED produced in most modern forged technology. The dynamic shape of the delicate, anodised cross spokes does not only lead to a dynamic and striking look, but also results in an even weight distribution and therefore guarantees higher bearing loads. HAMANN offers the 23-inch wheel in the dimensions 11.0 x 23 at the front- and 12.0 x 23 at the rear axle, combined with wheels measuring 315/25 R 23.
The light alloy wheels are especially emphasised with the HAMANN lowering kit. Progressively coiled springs at the front axle and a modification kit for the rear axle thereby lower the centre of gravity of the Sports Utility Vehicle by approx. 40 millimetres.

Most noble interior applications underline the motor sports atmosphere

In addition to the existing factory-provided interior, HAMANN offers accessories made of black-anodised aluminium in combination with carbon applications. Pedals and foot rest render motor sports air and perfectly match the 12-part HAMANN decoration set made of carbon fibre. An three-spoke sports steering wheel additionally render the TYCOON EVO M a dynamic overall appearance. It’s not as if the Ferrari California isn’t already one of the sexiest and most powerful cars on the road; however, Hamann felt it could do a little more with some modifications.

The designers added some visual upgrades including a carbon fiber hood, a new front spoiler, new side skirts, a back spoiler, a three-part rear diffuser and 21-inch HAMANN aluminum wheels. Hamann is also offering numerous interior modifications to have your California fit your taste.

The HAMANN interpretation of the Ferrari California with its exclusive and extensive refining programme does not only make the hearts of real Ferrari fans beat faster.

Most of all, the car body kit proves that HAMANN does not only focus on changing the visual appearance. Apart from design elements such as a bonnet made of carbon fibre, specific modifications at the front, sides and back boost the aerodynamics. Thereby, the front spoiler reduces the lifting forces of the California which significantly improves the handling and agility. Moreover, the unobtrusive side skirt set calms the airflow between both axles. And moreover, a back spoiler increases the contact pressure. Here, the HAMANN engineers agreed on a small wing profile which considerably enhances the car body design. This combination will advance the performance of the serial 4.3 litre V8 engine with 460 hp by up 20 percent.

Another technical highlight in the offered tuning programme is the multi-part HAMANN aluminium wheel called EDITION RACE. The black varnished rim star and the titanium bolting of the high-gloss polished rim flange emphasise the racing character. As the wheel is produced in forged technology, it is extremely light. This reduces the unsprung masses which noticeably improves both the acceleration and the braking response. The recommended wheel-tyre combination measures

9.0Jx21 inches with 245/30ZR21 tyres for the front and 12.5Jx21 rims with wheels measuring 345/25ZR21 are fitted at the back. The wheel-tyre combination is perfectly enhanced by the suspension which is used in order to lower the sports car.

Hamann has just released a modification program for the new 2009 BMW 7-Series, giving it a more aggressive look with more power. 

Visual enhancements include a new front skirt, rear spoiler, roof spoiler, new Hamann side skirts and four round stainless steel end pipes. Of course no visual upgrade is complete without a new set of wheels. Hamann has added their aluminum Design HM EVO 22-inch wheels, which are available in a glossy black paint.

As for performance enhancements, Hamann offers an upgrade for the 730d which increases output by 45-hp. Hamann also lowered the height on the 730d and the 740i by 40 millimeters.

The HAMANN refining programme for the new BMW 7-series

Individualisation on the highest level – this is the motto under which HAMANN presents its refining programme for the new BMW 7-series of the model range F01 and F02. Already since 1986, the Laupheim-based company develops and produces products for the individualisation of BMW automobiles. Thereby, the HAMANN technicians profit from hundreds of successful motor sports participations. The competence which was gained there is the basis for the development of new HAMANN products and renders the highest level for product quality and processing. The result: stainless steel exhaust systems with a sporty and earthy sound, aerodynamics components reducing the lifting forces and striking light alloy rims from 19 to 22 inches. Interiors perfectly fitted with leather and combined with floor-mats in matching colours as well as non-slip aluminium pedals extend the accessory range.

Already when establishing the design, HAMANN perfectly adjusts the individual components of the aerodynamic pack. The result is an exciting styling with an optimised air flow across the car silhouette. LED daytime running lights which are integrated in the new front skirt, render a sporty-dynamic look and increase the passive safety. Simultaneously, in combination with the roof spoiler and the rear spoiler, the lifting forces are reduced and give the upper class limousine a new, attractive overall appearance. The visual connection between the front and rear part are the HAMANN side skirts which are available for the model series F01. The optionally available rear shield insert for the side skirt of the model 730d and 740i allows fitting the four-pipe sport end muffler. A performance enhancement for the Diesel engine with variable turbine geometrics is already under construction. By this first tuning stage the serial measure of the 730d (180 kW / 245 hp) increases by approximately 33 kW/45 hp.

A technical highlight of the offered tuning programme is the one-piece HAMANN-aluminium wheel called DESIGN HM EVO 22 inches. A hallmark of the modern styling is the glossy black paint with the diamond-grinded rim star and the discreet deep rim well. Five elongated and over-vaulted triple spokes document visual and technical finesse. Struts inside the spokes render additional stability. Modern production processes and the use of special aluminium alloys guarantee highest bearing loads at a low weight. Here, HAMANN recommends the dimensions 9.0Jx22 inches with 265/30ZR22 tyres at the front axle and 10.5Jx22 inches with 295/25ZR22 tyres at the rear axle.

The four progressively coiled chassis springs which lower the centre of gravity with the models 730d, 740i by 40 millimetres at the front- and rear axles, render a dynamic appearance. For the models 750i and 750Li, there is a lowering kit consisting of two chassis springs and an evening kit.

Hamann has released a new tuning program for the Bentley Continental GT and Continental GT Speed giving the two luxury models a sporty accessorized body design. Hamann calls this version of the Bentley Continentals the “Imperator.”

The German tuned added larger air intakes with integrated daytime running lamps, a front bumper, front and rear wings, new side skirts, a new rear spoiler along with an integrated diffuser in the rear skirt for additional down-force.

Hamann is also offering its light alloy 22-inch Anniversary Race Andoized wheels. New chassis spring lower the height of the Continental GT by 30 millimetres at the front and 20 at the rear axle.

Optimised aerodynamics in perfect quality

Sportive elegance is the hallmark of the HAMANN-IMPERATOR design: In order to meet the high expectations in its appearance and aerodynamics, the HAMANN -designers completely reconstructed the front of the four-seater. Larger air inlets in connection with perfectly integrated daytime running lights give the Bentley an even more dynamic face. Additionally, the newly designed front optimises the air flow and therefore reduces the lifting forces at the front axle. Impressive extensions at the front and rear wings broaden the IMPERATOR by 70 millimetres and are contribute significantly to the powerful overall impression of the HAMANN modification. The HAMANN side skirts were modelled in such a way that they calm the air flow at the sides and make the noble sports car look even lower and more elongated. In order to reduce the lifting forces at the rear axle, the HAMANN technicians fitted an elegant spoiler on the original boot lid of the Bentley and combined it with a diffuser rear skirt for additional downthrust.

Impressive in terms of dimension and design – the new light alloy wheel ANNIVERSARY RACE ´´ANODIZED´´
Matching the striking appearance of the IMPERATOR, HAMANN uses new rims of the type ANNIVERSARY RACE ´´ANODIZED´´ in the dimension 22 inches. The exceptionally light, multi-part forged wheel has a high-gloss polished rim flange and a black anodized rim star. The recommended wheel/tyre combination for the front is 10.5Jx22 inches with tyres measuring 265/35 R 22. At the rear, 11.0Jx22 inch rims are used with tyres measuring 305/30 R 22.

HAMANN even offers a 21-inch alternative. Under the designation DESIGN EDITION RACE ANODIZED the refiner offers an ultra-light forged wheel which unites sportiness and elegance in its design. The black rim star and the titanium bolts emphasise the dynamics of the wheel while the high-gloss polished rim flange confirms the noble look. HAMANN offers the 21-inch wheel with tyres sized 295/30 R 21.

The new aluminium wheels are especially put in the limelight with the special chassis springs which lower the centre of gravity of the Continental GT by 30 millimetres at the front and 20 at the rear axle. At the same time, the handling of the sports car is significantly enhanced.

Perfected technology for superior performance enhancement

With a powerful performance enhancement, HAMANN offers the core part of the refining programme. The upgrade includes a sports end muffler with oval stainless steel end pipes and a new engine management. The result for the Continental GT Speed engine is an extra output of approx. 40hp /29kW and a torque increase by 90 Newton metres. The aggregate of the Continental GT even improves by 70hp/52kW and advances its torque by an additional 90 Nm. In addition, the maximum speed for both engines rises by approx 5km/h compared to their serial counterparts.

Noble or sportive – HAMANN offers the suitable interior

An interior highlight is the ergonomically newly designed 3-spoke sport steering wheel. Due to its new shape it lies much better in the hand and still offers all functions of the serial steering wheel. In the HAMANN upholstery, the wheel is covered with most precious leather and enhanced with applications made of carbon fibre – this perfectly goes with the multi-part interior set made of same material. No matter if you are looking for black piano finish, leather or ultra-suede – we have everything that makes your heart beat faster. We don’t even want to count how many vehicles HAMANN has modified but today it has released the details and images on its latest creation – the BMW X6 Tycoon. HAMANN has added a very aggressive body kit to the X6 consisting of a new front and back wing extension, new side skirts, a new front apron, a three-part diffuser to the original rear-apron, a roof spoiler and 23-inch Design Edition Race Anodized wheels.

As far as the latest project by HAMANN-Motorsport is concerned, the name says it all: the Laupheim-based refiner called its latest creation for BMW X6 TYCOON. This description has its roots in Japanese culture and is originally a synonym for an extraordinary shape – a comparison which can also be transferred to the X6-makeover.

The TYCOON – an auto-body pack which sets benchmarks

Already the design department at HAMANN-Motorsport ensures that the TYCOON meets the expectations in his name. They designed and developed an impressive broad makeover for this BMW crossover model and ensured that all accessories reflect and perfect the shape of the car. The masculine appearance of the TYCOON is mainly emphasised by its new front wings and back wing extensions made of light composite material. They broaden the body by striking 60 millimetres. The perfectly designed side skirts render the optical connection while the front apron is an outstanding eye-catcher with its large air inlets and the LED daytime running lights under the serial headlights. At the rear section of the X6, the HAMANN-engineers added a three-part diffuser to the original apron. The back appearance of the TYCOON is enhanced by a rear- and roof spoiler. It goes without saying that all used HAMANN-components do not only convince with their design but also with their aerodynamics. The Diesel series also profits from extra power. After the serial motronic is re-programmed, the xDrive30d has 265 PS / 195 kW and transfers a maximum torque of 600 Nm to the crankshaft. The engine variation xDrive35d also turns into a racy sprinter: HAMANN is able to tease 320 PS / 235 KW and a sensational torque of 660 Nm at 2000 rpm out of the Diesel car. Engine performance kits for the xDrive50i are already in the final stages of the development process. Moreover, sport mufflers by HAMANN-Motorsport can be adjusted to any performance kit. The product range includes a two-pipe and also four-pipe exhaust system which render a sonorous and earthy sound.

The inner values of HAMANN – noble accessories for the TYCOON interior

In addition to the present, serial inner design, HAMANN offers accessories made of high-quality aluminium. Following the launch of its 21-inch EDITION RACE wheels for the Maserati GranTurismo, HAMANN is also offering wheels for the new 2009 BMW 7-Series.

HAMANN hasn’t gotten around to offering any aerodynamic or performance packages for the new 7-Series but we expect HAMANN engineers to offer a more powerful version of the 730d diesel.

The 2009 BMW 7-Series will make its stateside debut at the 2008 LA Auto Show later this week and will go on sale in spring 2009. Two variants will be offered at launch including the 360-hp 750i and the 400-hp 750Li. Pricing will be announced closer to launch.

HAMANN EDITION RACE Wheels for the 2009 BMW 7-Series:

HAMANN hasn’t gotten around to offering us a Maserati GranTurismo with more power but it is offering its 21-inch EDITION RACE wheels for the sexiest car in Maserati’s collection. The set includes FA 9.0Jx21 with 245/30ZR21 tires and RA 12.5Jx21 with 345/45ZR21 tires.

You can throw the look-changing set of wheels on your 405-hp 4.5L V8 GranTursimo or your 440-hp 4.7L V8 GranTurismo S.

HAMANN 21-inch EDITION RACE Wheels for Maserati GranTurismo:

Following the new HAMANN Volcano, the German tuner has also dropped the details on the new HAMANN BMW X6. Along with some significant performance enhancement for the entry-level X6 models, HAMANN has added a new body kit that consists of a new front skirt with integrated LED daytime running headlights, a three-part rear casing and a new roof spoiler. Customers can also opt for a small or large and more prominent rear spoiler and a new bonnet made of ultra-light carbon.

With a new HAMANN performance exhaust manifold power for the X6 xDrive35i has been increased to 360-hp with a maximum torque of 398 lb-ft. Top speed has been increased to 170 mph. HAMANN also gave the diesel xDrive30d some extra power bringing output to 265-hp with a peak torque of 487 lb-ft.

The HAMANN BMW X6 rides on 23-inch DESIGN EDITION RACE wheels that go for 9,385 euros.

The HAMANN BMW X6 programme offers a car which does not only have the characteristics of an SUV, but also of a sports coupé. As a certified specialist for sport accessories, HAMANN-Motorsport is especially focusing on the driving dynamics segment of this Crossover model. For this reason, the technicians are refining the aerodynamics, motor and running gear. The modifications turn the BMW X6 into an automobile which makes nearly every wish come true as far as performance is concerned. But the Laupheim-based refiner can do even more: an extensive interiorand rim-programme completes the X6 refinement and makes the automobile stand out against the vast number of other upper class SUVs.

Inspiring torque enhancement

The range of HAMANN performance enhancement is as manifold as the choice of BMW motors. Thus, the technology specialist equips the X6 xDrive35i with a motor performance of 360 hp / 265 kW at 5,230 rpm. At the same time, the maximum torque rises by 140 Nm to 540 Nm within the speed range from 1,300 to 5,000 rpm. Thereby, HAMANN also suspends the 250 km/h limit and allows an impressive speed of 275 km/h. The Diesel version is also provided with extra power. After re-programming the serial motronics, the xDrive30d renders 265 hp / 195 kW and draws a maximum torque of 600 Nm to the crankshaft. The motor version xDrive35d turns into an enormously powerful sprinter as well. The engineers from Laupheim were able to tease 320 hp / 235 kW and a sensational torque of 660 Nm at 2,000 rpm out of the self-igniting engine. Moreover, the sport mufflers by HAMANN-Motorsport are adjusted to the various performance kits. The product range does not only offer a double-pipe, but also a four-pipe system which renders a sonorous and earthy sound.

Fascinating design is matched with functional aerodynamics

The exclusive HAMANN auto body programme renders an optimal airflow over the car silhouette. The body kit consists of a sportive and energetic front skirt with integrated LED daytime running lights, a three-part rear casing and an attractive roof spoiler. For additional output on the rear axle, the customer can either opt for a small restrained or large and prominent rear spoiler. According to customer specifications, the BMW specialist can also replace the serial bonnet with an ultra-light carbon version.

Rims in ultra format

Single- or multi-part, sportive and striking or elegant and noble – HAMANN offers a wide range of wheel designs in different sizes. The ultimate rim is a 23-inch version called DESIGN EDITION RACE Anodized for the X6 wheel arches. The ultra-light forged wheel combines power and elegance. The black varnished rim star and the titanium bolting both emphasise the dynamics of the wheel. The highly polished rim flange on the other hands implies a noble appearance. HAMANN offers the 23-inch wheel with tyres measuring 315/25R23 from 9,385 euros.

The new aluminium wheels with special running gear springs are perfectly put into focus. Thereby, progressively coiled springs lower the SUV´s center of gravity by maximally 40 mm at the front- and rear axle.

Perfected technology for the interior

In addition to the consisting serial interior equipment, HAMANN offers accessories made of high-quality aluminium. Pedals and foot rests render motorsports flair and perfectly match the 12-part Hamann decoration set made of carbon fibre. An instrument dial with a scaling up to 300 km/h and a three-spoke sport steering wheel render an additional energetic overall impression.

After the spy shots and the video, HAMANN has finally released the official details and images of the new HAMANN Volcano – a car based on the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. Besides a performance boost, HAMANN has added a body kit that reduces-lift and will probably turn heads everywhere you go.

Using mainly carbon fiber material, HAMANN added a new front and rear wing along with new side skirts, an integrated hood scoop and a new front and rear spoiler. HAMANN also offers a special paint job for the Volcano in either aluminum/chrome or white/matte-black. The HAMANN Volcano rides on 21-inch EDITION RACE wheels.

Power comes from the same 5.4L V8 engine but with a new modified ECU and a high-performance exhaust manifolds, output is increased to 700-hp with a maximum torque of 612 lb-ft. 0 to 60 mph comes in 3.6 seconds with a top speed of 218-mph – that’s 9 mph faster than the factory produced SLR 722.

The serial Mercedes-Benz SLR is already one of the most impressive cars on our roads – but compared to the HAMANN VOLCANO it still looks rather harmless. Once again, HAMANN-Motorsport proves its cutting edge when it comes to refining superb sports cars. From a lift-reducing body design to a powerful performance enhancement to a lavishly styled interior, HAMANN focuses on all components of this luxury car and makes the automobile dreams of its exclusive clientele come true.

The total makeover of the Laupheim-based refiner is made of extremely light full carbon and consists of front- and rear wing extensions and also new side skirt attachments and sheathings. The front view of the Volcano is optically perfected with a newly designed bonnet which enhances the overall impression by its integrated hood scoop. But also for the rear, the refining technicians implemented new ideas giving the SLR appearance its finishing touch. Under the boot lid cover, HAMANN placed a strong diffuser which improves the car´s output in combination with the large rear wing. At the front axle, a newly developed front spoiler renders the necessary contact pressure. If desired, an especially developed overall paint for the VOLCANO in either aluminium/chrome or white/matt completes the striking appearance of this bolide.

The 21-inch rims named EDITION RACE with tyres measuring 255/30ZR21 at the front and 345/25ZR21 at the back render an optimal road grip. The design of the extraordinary light forged wheel thereby combines vitality and elegance and also perfectly fills out the wheel houses.

The HAMANN makeover is not only sportive, but also has a lot to offer under the bonnet. The HAMANN motor technicians get the most out of the Mercedes Benz V8-aggregate (5.4 litres, 626 hp, 780 Nm): 700 hp / 515 kW and a maximum torque of 830 Nm at 3,300 crankshaft revolutions per minute. The therefore necessary modifications include a newly programmed control unit, especially developed high performance exhaust manifolds and an amended belt pulley combination for the serial compressors. In order to facilitate the increased motor performance, HAMANN adds a second water pump and adjusts the gearbox electronics. Invigorated in this way and with the adequate sound from the six end pipes of the sport exhaust system, the VULCANO accelerates from naught to a hundred in only 3.6 seconds. With a maximum speed of 348 km/h, the HAMANN VOLCANO is 14 km/h faster than the serial model.

The HAMANN product even beats the factory-provided performance-enhanced special series SLR 722 by impressive 11 km/h.

A skillfully refined interior is waiting for the VOLCANO-pilot and also the exterior does not rank behind. The overall makeover contains pedals and foot rests in aluminium as well as noble door sill protectors and headrests with embossed embroidered HAMANN-Logos. They can also be found on the exclusive floor mats. The overall makeover can be enhanced with a HAMANN interior set containing custom-made carbon parts for the dashboard and centre console. If desired, also the roof interior, all pillars, the cockpit including the steering wheel and the sun visors can hereby be adjusted in terms of colour. Therefore, HAMANN solely uses the high-quality material Alcantara.

We recently saw spy shits shots (yes, we make crazy typos too) of HAMANN’s latest project based on the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 – the HAMANN SLR Volcano. While we don’t have the official press release or images from HAMANN as of yet, the German tuner has released a video giving us a closer look at the SLR Volcano in every possible angle along with a short clip of it in action.

We’ll bring you more as we get it but what we know so far is that HAMANN has added a triple-pipe exhaust, a roof air scoop, rear bumper diffuser, deep-dish Hamann wheels, smoked taillamps and a large rear wing.

The Mansory Renovatio based on the Mercedes-Benz SLR was just hideous; BRABUS did a fine job with a 650-hp SLR roadster; and RENNTech gave the SLR 722 exactly what it needed – 722 horsepower. Spotted here, HAMANN is getting ready to release their SLR – the HAMANN SLR Volcano.

No official word on the specs as of yet but from the images we can see a two-tone black/white paint scheme, triple-pipe exhaust, a roof air scoop, rear bumper diffuser, deep-dish Hamann wheels, smoked taillamps and a large rear wing. You can also notice the red leather interior if you look closely.

Not sure when HAMANN plans on releasing the SLR Volcano, but it seems pretty ready to us.

HAMANN has just announced its tuning program for the new Aston Martin V8 Vantage and V8 Vantage Roadster which gives the British sports cars a little more power and body kit providing optimized aerodynamics and airflow.

HAMANN has added a new front lip spoiler and a new front skirt, new side skirts. The German tuner also added a new spoiler that reduces lift with a matching three-part rear diffuser. The body component is available in two different materials including fiber glass and matt carbon. HAMANN also added its 21-in EDITION RACE wheels available in black with titanium bolding. New chassis springs lower the centre of gravity of the V8 Vantage by 30 mm at the front axle and by 20 mm at the rear. 

Performance wise HAMANN added new sports catalysers and sport end mufflers. Along with an aggressive and mean sound the duo provides an extra 20-hp for a total of 440-hp.

No doubt – HAMANN knows how to refine luxury cars. And with the tuning programme for the V8 Vantage of the English luxury brand Aston Martin, the Laupheim-based company once again confirms its supremacy as a manufacturer of sport accessories and thrilling body design. 

Optimised aerodynamics in perfect quality
”Form follows function“ – in this spirit, HAMANN perfectly co-ordinates the individual components of the aerodynamics kit with each other. The result is an impressive styling with an optimised airflow over the car silhouette and an additional output for increased bend speed.

The bow of the Aston Martin can be optionally equipped with a spoiler lip for the original front or enhanced with an entire front skirt. Between the front and rear side, the striking HAMANN side skirt attachments render an integrated design and give the Vantage a lowered and more stretched look. In order to reduce the lifting forces at the back axle, HAMANN technicians developed a shapely spoiler which can be fitted on the rear lid and enhanced with a matching three-part rear diffuser. The latter optically extends the side skirts downwards and skilfully enhances the two end pipes of the HAMANN sport exhaust system. Basically, the customer can choose from two materials for the body components. HAMANN produces its entire aerodynamics programme in fibre glass or optionally in matt carbon.

Sportive and elegant – the new light alloy wheel EDITION RACE
One of the technical highlights in the tuning programme is the new three-part HAMANN light alloy wheel named EDITION RACE. The forged wheel combines both sportiness as well as elegance. The black varnished rim star and the titanium bolting emphasise the dynamism of the wheel, the highly-polished rim flange on the other hand renders a noble appearance. HAMANN offers the wheel/tyre combination measuring 9,0Jx21 inches with 245/30ZR21 tyres at the front and 10,5Jx21 rims with tyres measuring 295/25ZR21 at the back for 8,540 €. The new aluminium wheels are accentuated with special chassis springs which lower the centre of gravity of the V8 Vantage by 30 mm at the front axle and by 20 mm at the rear axle. At the same time, this enhances the handling of this sports car.

Especially for the V8 Vantage, the Swabian engineers developed sport catalysers and sport end mufflers. The components made of stainless steel render an impressive sound setting and emphasise the sportive value of the HAMANN-makeover. HAMANN has had its share of BMW tuning models. Now the tuner is offering packages for another BMW family brand – the MINI. HAMANN has created a performance and aerodynamic package for the MINI Cooper S and the MINI Cooper D.

The HAMANN MINI Cooper D gets a total of 136-hp while MINI Cooper S gets 204-hp. Both produce a peak torque of 221 lb-ft. 0-60mph on the MINI Cooper S is improved by half a second while top speed has been increased to 148mph. The suspension has been lowered by 30mm but can be lowered further (up to 50mm) with four coiled springs.

HAMANN’s aerodynamics kit gets new front, rear and side skirts along with a new rear diffuser with a new sports exhaust system. HAMANN is also offering a variety of wheel designs including 18-inch wheel HM EVO.

Racy lifestyle package for the trendy buggy
HAMANN presents its tuning programme for the current MINI

Already since 1986, HAMANN-Motorsport develops and manufactures products for the individualisation of BMW automobiles. Therefore, it is only consistent that the technicians of the Laupheim-based company also focus on the “small relative” in the BMW family and develop an extensive tuning programme for the MINI. The result: a powerful performance increase, road holding aerodynamics components, striking 18-inch light alloy rims and noble interior modifications in aluminium and carbon. 

For both, the MINI COOPER S and the MINI COOPER D, HAMANN offers powerful performance increase components by re-programming the serial Motronic. According to the ignition map optimisation, the Diesel-aggregate has 136 hp / 100 kW at 4,000 r.p.m. and a maximum torque of 300 Nm at 1,750 – 2,000 r.p.m. This equals an increase of 26 hp / 20 kW. The HAMANN technicians achieved an even larger performance boost with the petrol version. Instead of 175 hp / 128 kW, the COOPER S then has sappy 204 hp/ 150 kW at 5,500 r.p.m. and a torque of 300 Nm at 1,600 – 5,000 r.p.m. Accordingly also the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h improves by half a second. The maximum speed is approx. 5 km/h faster than with a serial motor. But there is another, significantly greater performance increase for the trendy buggy. This is reserved to the COOPER S and is called SPORTKIT CS 230. And the name says it all: After tuning the car with a modified serial Motronic, a new supercharged air cooler and by using a HAMANN sport muffler, the MINI offers 230 PS / 169 kW at 6,050 r.p.m. and 330 Nm torque at 3,860 r.p.m. The top speed spurts to 238 km/h. But the enormous agile response behaviour and the improved high-revving character of the optimised engine are even more important for everyday use. 

The lifestyle design of the HAMANN aerodynamics kit also presents itself strikingly racy. The serial front skirt does not only profit from its optic enhancement, but at the same time, the lifting forces are reduced, leading to an increased stability mainly at high speeds. The entire HAMANN front skirt is an alternative. It produces output at the front axle and supplies the air cooler and the front breaks with even more fresh air. The HAMANN side sills give the MINI a more elongated and lowered look. A rear diffuser which was especially developed for COOPER S models extends the serial skirt downwards and turns the two end pipes of the HAMANN sport exhaust system skilfully into focus. 

The HAMANN rim programme takes the individual wishes of the MINI clientele into account. No matter if the customer seeks a strikingly sportive or noble and elegant version – HAMANN offers a variety of wheel designs in many sizes. One of the technical highlights is the one-piece 18-inch wheel HM EVO. The modern style is emphasised with a black-lacquered finish, a diamond grinded rim star and the discreet indent.

Five elongated and vaulted triple spokes prove optical and technical finesse. The recommended wheel-tyre combination is 7.5Jx18 inches for the front and back axle with tyres measuring 225/35ZR18. HAMANN uses high performance wheels type S1 EVO of its technology partner HANKOOK.

The chassis suspension which lowers the MINI´s centre of gravity by 30 mm also sets new highlights. HAMANN offers a height-adjustable sport coilover kit as an ideal solution for the different requirements on the racetrack and for everyday use. The set consists of four sport anti-shocks and four progressively coiled sport springs. With these, the chassis can be lowered by up to 50 mm and offers numerous possibilities for an individual adjustment.

Supplementary to the existing serial interior features, HAMANN offers high-quality aluminium accessories. Hand brake handles, sport gear shifts and pedals render a motorsports ambience and complement the lifestyle package with the HAMANN interior set made of visible carbon structures.
