Ford adds shift at plants to meet demand for F-150 and Escape
FoMoCo has just announced that it is adding a third shift to its Dearborn Truck Plant and Kansas City Assembly Plant’s sport utility line to meet strong demand for Ford F-150 and Escape vehicles. The move will add full-time employment for 2,800 employees who have been working on a two-weeks-on and one-week-off rotating basis.

Chris Lentz has realized his childhood dream of owning a jet-powered pickup. Lentz purchased a turbojet engine from a pilot he met from New York who imported and sold them in the United States. The folks at PickupTrucks.com are reporting that Ford has major changes coming up for the Ford F-150 powertrain lineup in 2010. Currently, the Ford F-150 offers an entry-level 4.6L V8 or a range-topping 5.4L V8.
