Tuner Wimmer has introduced a new tuning program for the new Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M. The package adds a new aerodynamic body kit and a power upgrades.

With the help of a new performance kit, power for the Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M has been increased by 38-hp for a total of 548-hp. That allows for a 0-62 mph time of just 3.84 seconds with a top speed of 202 mph.

The upgrades also include a new KW HLS system (Hydraulic Lift System). With a push of a button, the Wimmer Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M can be adjusted by up to 45 mm on the front axle.

Wimmer presents its Program for making modern Ferrari F430 Scuderia appearance unique. The individualized sports car from Italy unites sport characteristics and dynamics, thus one more time expressing the basic principle of all Wimmer products: safety is guaranteed!

Wimmer Ferrari Scuderia Performance Kit is topical at the Essen Motor Show. For Ferrari F430 Wimmer RS has developed a Power Packet that can be heared and felt. The kit includes new Wimmer engine control software and sport valve exhaust system. With the use of remote control a driver can choose between nearly serial sport sound and racing sound. In addition the handbuilt high grade steel exhaust system that optimizes dynamic pressure contains two welded high grade steel exhaust manifolds as well as two sport catalytic converters and an exhaust valves control unit. Upon the whole the new performance kit provides for the sensible increase of 38 hp in engine power what corresponds to the speed increase of about 11km/h, with maximum speed reaching 321 km/h. For acceleration up to 100 km/h F430 Scuderia needs now just 3.84 seconds. 200 kph speed is reached within 11.03 seconds and 300 kph – within 34.9 seconds.

Now the program includes also new KW HLS system (Hydraulic Lift System): when you push the button, the vehicle equipped with KW HLS is adjusted by up to 45 mm on the front axle. Thus the obstacles that cannot be overcome with low ground clearance, can be driven over without any problems. The hydraulic unit is mounted on the coilovers between spring cups and springs. The advantage of the hydraulic system consists in the fact that no compression (movement) of moving-out cylinder unit (thus no undesired additional elastic deflection) occurs while driving.

19″ BBS FI alloy rims (7.6 kg each front axle rim and 8.8 kg each rear axle rim) on? more time emphasize its sport characteristics. High class super light BBS alloy rims in black are comleted by 8.75×19 with 225/35 R 19 tyres on the front axle and 11.25×19 with 305/30 R19 tyres on the rear axle. High speed tyres are presented by the technology partner Dunlop.

One of the most outstanding attractions at the Goodwood Festival of Speed is the Sunday Times Supercar Runs. Ferrari announced today that its Scuderia Spider 16M completed the 1.16 mile hillclimb in an incredible time of 59 seconds.

Ferrari has released a video of the Scuderia Spider 16M doing its lap at Goodwood 2009 along with videos of the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano with the HGTE package and the Ferrari California.

FERRARI SCUDERIA SPIDER 16M COMPLETES THE SUPERCAR RUN IN UNDER 1 MINUTE AT THE GOODWOOD FESTIVAL OF SPEED

Ferrari showcased three of its latest supercars in the Sunday Times Supercar Runs at the Goodwood Festival of Speed: the innovative Ferrari California, the remarkable 599 GTB Fiorano with HGTE package, and the limited edition Scuderia Spider 16M. To the appreciation of packed crowds which lined the hillclimb under gorgeous blue skies throughout the weekend, Ferrari fans were thrilled by the distinctive growl and bark of the V8 and V12 engines that make the Prancing Horse cars such a fan’s favourite at this event.

In a remarkable demonstration of driving finesse and incredible agility, the Scuderia Spider 16M completed the 1.16 mile hillclimb in an incredible time of 59 seconds – and a video of this astonishing drive is available for download. It makes compelling viewing.

Also available for download are similar videos of the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano with HGTE package and the Ferrari California, with an additional “over-the-shoulder” shot of the California which demonstrates the latest addition to the Ferrari range is every inch a true thoroughbred Ferrari. Ferrari wrapped up 2008 with the world debut of its Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M, a vehicle that requires no performance upgrades unless you’re Novitec Rosso. The tuner is now offering a limited edition of just 499 performance upgrades for the Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M.

It’s RACE Bi-Compressor engine upgrade offers 696-hp with a maximum torque of 503 lb-ft. That allows the open-top Scuderia Spider 16 M to go from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 205 mph.

Performance and handling are enhanced with a push of a button with the hydraulic lift system raising the front by 40 millimeters. The front axle goes back to a normal position at a second push of the button or automatically once the car reaches a speed of 49 mph.

Along with other visual upgrades Novitec Rosso is offering three-piece 20-inch wheels.

How can you make a Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M, built in a limited edition of just 499 vehicles, even more exciting and more exclusive? Easy, just take it to NOVITEC ROSSO, the world’s leading refiner of the sports cars from Maranello.

There the open-top lightweight model is fitted with the NOVITEC ROSSO RACE Bi-Compressor engine with 696 hp / 512 kW. It propels the Ferrari to a new top speed of more than 330 km/h. Numerous uncompromising sporty options such as 20-inch wheels, sport springs, a lift system for the front axle and exterior and interior accessories round out the product lineup.

NOVITEC ROSSO compressor technology has been the proven recipe for added driving fun for many years. For the eight-cylinder four-valve engine of the Scuderia Spider 16M NOVITEC ROSSO has now developed a custom version of its RACE Bi-Compressor engine.

The 4.3-liter V8 is supercharged by two cogged-belt-driven high-performance compressors with a maximum boost pressure of 0.48 bar. Each cylinder bank is fitted with a generously dimensioned water-to-air intercooler.

A specially manufactured heat-insulated intake manifold with larger cross-sections provides the engine with pre-compressed air. High-performance air filters and larger injectors round out the engine conversion on the intake side.

For a perfect symbiosis of maximum power yield, exemplary running smoothness and durability beyond reproach, the NOVITEC ROSSO engine specialists precision-match the new components with a newly programmed electronic engine management system.

Just as important are the larger cooling circuits for water and oil as well as dedicated cooling circuits for both compressors and the intercoolers.

The extensive NOVITEC ROSSO RACE Bi-Compressor conversion, available for 47,000 Euros for this and all other F430 Spider models, offers unique performance. With a power output of 696 hp / 512 kW at 8,400 rpm the NOVITEC ROSSO conversion surpasses the production engine by 186 hp / 136.9 kW. Peak torque grows from standard 470 Nm to 682 Nm at 6,300 rpm. Driving performance improves just as impressively: The tuned Scuderia Spider 16M sprints from rest to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds, and reaches 200 km/h after just 9.7 seconds. The 300-km/h barrier is shattered after just 23.8 seconds. Top speed for the open-top mid-engine sports car increases from 315 to more than 330 km/h.

For further optimized handling of the lightweight sports car NOVITEC ROSSO offers an update from the standard 19-inch tires to three-piece 20-inch wheels. The NOVITEC ROSSO NF3 double-spoke wheels in size 8.5Jx20 in front and in size 12Jx20 in back widen the track and thus allow even higher cornering speeds. The custom-tailored high-performance tires in size 235/30 ZR 20 in front and in size 325/25 ZR 20 on the rear axle are provided by technology partner PIRELLI.

NOVITEC ROSSO sport springs lower the center of gravity and further improve agile handling. For added daily utility of the Scuderia Spider 16M NOVITEC ROSSO offers a hydraulic lift system for the front axle. At the push of a button the front is raised by 40 millimeters and makes navigating obstacles such as curbs, speed bumps and garage entries easier. The front axle reverts to normal position at a second push of the button or automatically once the car reaches a speed of 80 km/h.

To give the Spider exterior an even more striking appearance NOVITEC ROSSO offers blacks taillights, side markers and reflectors.

The lightweight-construction interior can be refined with exclusive NOVITEC ROSSO options as well. The ergonomically shaped leather/carbon-fiber NOVITEC ROSSO sport steering wheel features a flattened lower rim for easier entering and exiting. The NOVITEC ROSSO carbon-fiber shift paddles are longer than their production counterparts and make manual gearshifts of the F1-SuperFast2 transmission even easier.

After all the rumors and photo renderings, Ferrari today unveiled the special series Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M at the World Finals in Mugello, celebrating its 16th F1 Constructor’s title. Only 499 examples of the Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M will be made so we expect it to be very expensive and very sold out in a couple of days.

Power comes from a 4.3L V8 engine making 510-hp with a maximum torque of 347 lb-ft. Weighing in at just 1,340 kg (2948 lbs) and a power to weight ratio of 2.6 kg (5.7 lbs) per horsepower, the Scuderia Spider 16M goes from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 196 mph. In fact, Ferrari says that the Scuderia Spider 16M is the fastest open-top road car to go around its Fiorano circuit. Fuel-economy is estimated at 15 mpg with CO2 emission levels of 360 g/km.

The new Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M will sport a special plaque on its rear grille commemorating Ferrari’s 16th Constructor’s World title. The interior will also carry a “limited series” plaque denoting which of the 499 units you own. Other features include a roll-bar with a carbon-fiber shell and a new generation audio system that can be combined with the removable 16GB Ferrari iPod Touch that can be docked in front of the dashboard.
