Ferrari’s new Tailor Made Program is offering a special version of the 599 GTB called the 60F1 to give it a proper send off with 60 years of Formula 1 winnings.

Three different versions of the 599 GTB will be offered, all of which will include a satin-finish aluminum fuel filler cap, Scuderia Ferrari shield on the front wheel arches, and diamond-finish 20-inch alloy wheels. They are all also based on the HGTE package, which comes with a thicker rear stabilizer bar, stiffer springs, sticker tires, and a lowered body.

Inside, the special editions come with Sabelt seats for Europe and Recaro seats for the U.S. versions, covered in superfabric and Alcantara, and feature blue and red colored four-point safety harnesses.

All three models come from different inspiration, one being Frolian Gonzalez’s 1951 first Ferrari victory in the 375 F1 at the British Grand Prix, and the 60th F1 victory by Fernando Alonso in the same location this summer.

Ferrari used the same shade of dark red for the new 375 as was on the supercar Gonzalez drove back in 1951, while the Scuderia matches that of Alonso’s winner, with Formula 1 white accents. Another version, the Italia 2, shares colors with Alonso’s car, but drops most of the white accents.

While the Ferrari 599 is arguably a thing of beauty right out of the factory, some still prefer to customize their vehicles, no matter how special the model may already be. Tuning house Anderson Germany has just released its take on the 599, with a fairly well executed package.

The exterior has been given a coat of black paint with red piping that runs up the center of the supercar. A set of 21-inch black wheels with red accents match the body paint, with red calipers. An aero kit crafted from carbon fiber has been fitted to the outside, as well.

Ferrari isn’t exactly shy when it comes to performance, but Anderson Germany still kicked up the V12’s output to 674-hp with an ECU upgrade and a new sports exhaust system. The 599’s 0-62mph time has been cut down to just over 3 seconds.

Inside, the black and red theme is continued, but not overdone, and features quilted red leather surrounded by black leather with contrast red stitching. Carbon fiber replaces the standard door handles and sill, center console, and gearshift.

Perhaps the interior could be toned down to match the subtlety of the exterior, but on the whole this is a respectable package from Anderson.

As the replacement for Ferrari’s 599 approaches, rumors are flying around the internet about what the final variant may be to follow up the vast number of them that have been made so far.

The outstanding speculation is that Ferrari will be making a 599 Fernando Alonso edition, in honor of the Formula One driver. It is said to be faster and lighter than any of the others, with production limited to 40 units, and scheduled for January release.

All the rumors may be the result of this video, which shows Alonso driving an F10 Tribute Edition. If this is more than just speculation, the model’s premier would be expected at the Finali Mondiali coming up this weekend, so we won’t be in suspense for too long.

Novitech Rosso is a German Ferrari tuner that has selected a unique model for its latest project – modified Ferrari 599 GTB. Only 80 units of what is known as the Ferrari 599 SA Aperta will be made, each getting power and visual upgrades.

Power mods include a new twin-supercharger for the 6.0-liter V12, which puts the SA Aperta’s horsepower at 876-hp, and gives it 636 lb-ft of torque, up 215-hp from the original. The 0-62mph time comes in at an impressive 3.1 seconds, and the car hits 124mph in 9.1 seconds, with a top speed of 211mph.

New wheels have been added to the 599 SA with a set of 10Jx21 inch forged rims, and a set of PZero Pirellie’s wrap the wheels. A 90mm black-coated tailpipe has been added along with a new stainless-steel exhaust, as well. The car also gets a 25mm drop all the way around.

I wish these were available in our press fleet.

Just the other day we learned more details on the new Ferrari Enzo, courtesy of Ferrari CEO Amedeo Felisa. In an interview with CARandDRIVER, Felisa also confirmed more details on the replacement for the Ferrari 599 GT Fiorano.

Scheduled to arrive in 2012, the replacement for the Ferrari 599 GTB will keep its front-engine layout and will be constructed from aluminum alloys. When asked if the next 599 GTB will have 700-hp to match the new Lamborghini Aventador, Felisa said: “We are selling cars, not horsepower. We’ll have more than 700 horsepower… but it’s not because of the Aventador.”

The Ferrari 599 GTO is powered by a 6.0L V12 engine making 661-hp with a maximum torque of 457 lb-ft, which gives it the ability to go form 0 to 62 mph in 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 208 mph.

We can only imagine what the replacement will be like.

With cameras and witness phone calls, police caught many drivers in a group of 13 that were driving sports cars at speeds estimated to be over 120mph, however, are unable to go forward with more charges.

Police have the cars on film near the George Massey Tunnel, but there is nothing there to get the drivers on speeding charges. Norm Gaumont, RCMP traffic services; Supt. says “We already checked the cameras… nothing dangerous happened in the tunnel.”

The drivers are being charged with driving without due consideration for others. They are also facing multiple fines, including $196 ticket, $300 in penalty points premium, and towing and storage costs of approximately $350.

Consisting of 12 men and one woman, the group of drivers were all under 21, and many still had a novice license. Only one of the 13 actually owned the vehicle they were driving. All of the vehicles are impounded for seven days. The vehicles include three Lamborghinis, three Nissans, a Ferrari, an Audi, and Aston Martin, and two Mercedes.

The drivers with novice licences are having them reviewed for possible further penalty, however Gaumont says “We don’t have police officers who observed the offence, and we don’t have lasers and radars that have the speeds. We have to really depend on third-party individuals who had called in.”

Gaumont still believes that Surry has sufficient street racing deterrents, despite the incident.

The 13 vehicles seized:

The Ferrari 599 has been around with us since 2007 and word has been floating around that Ferrari has been hard at work with a successor. Now, a new spy video has just popped up showing a 599-bodied test mule, which could only mean that the 599 successor is well under way.

The 599-replacement is supposedly dubbed the F152 and is estimated to debut as early as next year’s Geneva Motor Show in March.

Ferrari has its work cut out for the next two years as it plans to replace two of its five core models – the Ferrari 430 Spider and the 599 GTB Fiorano.

According to a report by Automotive News, the replacement for the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano will be totally redesigned. Internally known as the F152, the new car will remain a two-seater coupe with rear-wheel-drive and a direct-injected V12 longitudinal engine mounted in the front.

Ferrari plans on showing the model in March at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, with sales to begin in Europe by summer U.S. shipments by end of 2012.

Other than that, we know that the Ferrari 599 GTO Roadster is pinned for a Pebble Beach debut later this month and that Ferrari is also working on its first hybrid supercar for sometime in 2013-2014.

A new picture of what seems to be a new Ferrari 599 GTO is floating around. However, word is that the particular 599 in the picture isn’t a normal 599.

Ferrari is destined to show the world that it will be producing the world’s first hybrid supercar. Ever since the Geneva Motor Show of 2010, the Maranello firm has been talking about making one, setting goals like the model must achieve 240g/km by 2018.

This picture specifically takes place in Germany and the car in the picture is a test mule for the underpinnings of the next generation all-new 599 replacement due in 2013. And what says that this 599 in the picture is a hybrid are the identification plates. Ferrari prototypes wear only Italian “Prova” plates. But in place of those plates are ditched in favor of German plates with the S meaning it was registered in Stuttgart, which is not only home to the Mercedes-Benz behemoth, but Bosch electronics as well. Not to mention, word has it that Bosch is supposedly in the works with Ferrari in terms of engineering and software.

A closer look of the 599 test mule revealed that the underpinnings were vastly similar to Ferrari’s front-engine V8-powered California but with major differences with parts such as the exhaust. It was rearranged in a way that suggested the exhaust was rerouted to make room for the new hybrid powertrain and its gynormous battery.

The hybrid system is supposed to have two electric motors, a low capacity one sitting at the front to drive the accessory devices and a rear-mounted one that’s pegged at offering 100hp and 110 lb-ft of torque.

Despite a said increase of about 100kg at the unveiling of the 599 Hybrid Concept at last year’s Geneva Motor Show, Ferrari says that performance has been improved for a 0-100mph time of 10.4 seconds, 0.6 seconds higher than previous. And lastly, because a hybrid powertrain changes everything from the structure of the car to its entire design, a new traction control system is being developed for the hybrid.

Three thieves from Poland stole a significant spread of vehicles about a month ago. Among the goods: a Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, a BMW 7-Series, and special edition Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Sang Bleu.

The cars where stolen from Oberrieden, Switzerland. The goal was to get the cars back to Poland, by way of Germany.

German autobahns offered no cover for the thieves, and police had no trouble picking up two of the three. Unfortunately, the driver of the Veyron managed to scrape the car along a guard rail before he was caught. As for the third driver, he managed to get away by abandoning the Ferrari 599 in Furth, Germany, at a train station. He still has not been caught.

Aside from the obvious charges, the two men that were caught are facing a hefty tax bill. Any smugglers transporting stolen goods through Germany are hit with a 10% tariff and 19% import tax, as a result of their European Union membership.

The taxes tally up to around $522,000, considering the cost of the stolen exotics.

The Ferrari 599 has been around with us for about five and a half years so naturally, you’d expect them to give the 599 a new refresh and maybe a new model, rendering the previous versions completely obsolete. Yea – uhm, no.

Because the Ferrari FF a la their braking breaking new “shooting brake” model has been so successful, an all-new car will most likely replace the 599, says Ferrari. It will be derived from the FF but with more substantial performance.

The new car will feature the same V12 as the outgoing 599 GTO. Yup, that means all 6.3L of natural aspiration goodness that doesn’t stop till you pound 8500 rpm, albeit with more power. Thanks to the help of a new direct injection fuel system, the new V12 should be more powerful and relatively far more frugal than the normal port injected version.

Click here for more news on the Ferrari 599.

Now for some interesting boring stuff. Of course in usual fashion, the new car also sheds some weight thanks to an all-aluminum frame mixed with about 20 different alloys to ensure the highest quality of weight, energy absorption, stiffness, panel finish, and joint strength – give me a second to crack my hands and recooperate my brain.

The new replacement will also be more refined and comfortable due to a multi-link rear axle with a seven-speed dual-clutch cogswapper mounted to it as well as a new rear e-diff. Indeed.

Don’t forget their Manettino position – and no that’s not an estranged sex position. That’s the red knob on the steering wheel that changes the suspension damping, gear shifts, throttle response, exhaust valving, and traction and control systems.

Ferrari says that the new model won’t be out until 2012 and the new model won’t be released with AWD.

There is no debate that Ferrari owners buy the company’s supercars only for their exclusivity and performance. I highly doubt that they care about how the brand is cutting CO2 emissions, but if they do, they’ll be pleased to know that Ferrari is making the most significant progress of Europe’s high-end supercar makers in reducing its lineup’s CO2.

Ferrari recorded an average of 326 g/km last year, down 46 g/km, according to figures from JATO Dynamics. JATO releases an yearly report into the European industry’s progress towards a 130 g/km fleet average.

JATO said that Ferrari’s cut is equal to 12 percent, which is about half the total reduction that mass automakers are expected to make by 2015.

How did Ferrari’s rivals match up? Aston Martin managed a reduction of 0.6 percent, Lamborghini came in with a 1.5 percent reduction and Bentley dropped 1.9 percent.

The improved power coming from the 6.3 V12 in the new 2012 Ferrari FF means that the Italian supercar maker’s next-generation front-engined GT supercar will be even more powerful.

Upgrading the 6.3L V12, which is already good for 651-hp in the new Ferrari FF, the replacement for the 599 due next year is likely to push more than 700-hp – and that should be more than appropriate for Ferrari’s range-topping front-engined GT car. The replacement for the Ferrari 599 will also receive a bunch of weight-saving technology with extensive use of carbon fiber.

What it won’t get is the Ferrari FF’s 4RM four-wheel-drive system. Ferrari says that there is definitely potential to use the RM four-wheel-drive system elsewhere in its lineup but its high-end GT cars will have to remain rear-wheel-drive.

Something more powerful than the Ferrari 599 GTO? We’re looking forward to it.

Refresher: Power for the Ferrari 599 GTO comes from a 6.0L V12 engine making 661-hp with a maximum torque of 457 lb-ft. Mated to a F1 6-speed gearbox, the Ferrari 599 GTO goes from 0-62 mph in 3.5 seconds with a top speed of more than 208 mph. Ferrari says that the 599 GTO set a record lap at Fiorano in 1 minute and 24 seconds.
