We told you earlier this month that the C7 Corvette won’t arrive until 2013 as a 2014 model year. Well, according to AutoWeek it could be longer than that. Sources have confirmed that since GM is in a financial crisis, plans for the next-generation Corvette are on an indefinite hold with no official or set schedule.

Not only is the new C7 Corvette a couple years out, plans to refresh or upgrade the current C6 ‘Vette is unlikely to happen anytime soon.

AutoWeek says another version of the story goes that the current Corvette was planned to be upgraded in 2012 as a 2013 model. At that time, the car would be eight years old and if the C7 is continued to be delayed like it is, it’ll be at least 12 years until the C7 arrives.

Other than that – Tom Wallace, Corvette’s vehicle-line executive told AutoWeek: “Whether [you are talking about] the C6 or C7, I’m not going to comment on future product [specifics], including engines or any of that. We’re still working on future Corvettes, but the scope of change is not yet decided. There are changes, some neat stuff, coming for 2010 that I can’t talk about yet.”

Earlier this month we found out that the mystery Autobot we’ve been seeing in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen spy shots is the Chevrolet Corvette Centennial Design Concept due out later this year.

A new Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen video has popped showing the Autobots filming in Long Beach, California. The video gives us a first look at the Corvette Centennial Design Concept in action along with Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Ironhide, Chevrolet Beat and Trax.

So we’ve been seeing spy shots of a mystery car GM concept on the set of Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen. Many have said that it is indeed a Corvette-looking concept. Well our friends at Jalopnik and their “well-placed sources” say that this is indeed an upcoming GM concept called the Corvette Centennial Design Concept.

We expect the concept to make its official debut at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show prior to the release of the Transformers sequel.

No word on whether it will play a Decepticon or a Autobot – but we’re guessing Autobot since GM may not want to show the concept in an ‘evil-light.’

As you know, we here at eGMCarTech can’t get enough of those cars turning into robot aliens. Seen here is what is rumored to be a Chevrolet Corvette concept spotted on the set of Transformers: Rise of the Fallen (yes the name changed).

Is it really Corvette concept? We’re not sure, but if you look closely at the styling its very much reminiscent of a Chevrolet Corvette.

Also seen in the pictures is the Chevrolet Beat and Traxx concepts alongside Optimus.
