The Mercedes S-Class has just received a new tuner kit by Carlsson. Known as the Carlsson CS60, the model gets some nice exterior, interior and a big performance boost.

Exterior modifications are definitely subtle, yet flattering. There is a new front bumper, side skirts that have been aerodynamically crafted, a trunk-mounted spoiler, and an edited rear apron.

Suspension gets a 33mm drop and sits on high-performance Dunlop tires, which cover a set of 20-inch alloy wheels.

Mercedes S-Class’ 5.5-liter V12 receives an updated ECU for it’s twin turbo power. A stainless steel sport exhaust and high-flow air filter have also been added. Carlsson’s Mercedes ends up with 591-hp at 755 lb-ft of torque (which has been electronically limited). It’s no surprise that the 0-62mph time clocks in at just 4.3 seconds, and hits a top speed of 199mph.

That torque to horsepower ratio is an eyebrow raiser, especially for a car like this. I do and do not want to take this down a quarter mile run.

The next major auto show will take place in Geneva later this March. For the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, tuner Carlsson will unveil its first own-developed supercar known as the Carlsson C25 Super-GT.

Besides the extra souped up looks based on the SL AMG, the Carlsson C25 is powered by 6 liter V12 Bi-Turbo engine making 753-hp with a maximum torque of 974 lb-ft. That allows the Carlsson C25 Super-GT to go from 0-62 mph in blistering fast 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 218 mph.

To assure exclusivity of the vehicle, Carlsson will only offer one C25 Super-GT per country. Carlsson did not say how many units it will be producing. The car can be services at any Mercedes-Benz dealers since it is based on the latest Mercedes-Benz technology.

Carlsson who are approved as an automobile manufacturer by the Federal German Motor Transport Authority, for the first time presents an own developed automobile at this year’s Geneva Motor Show ““ the Carlsson C25. The concept of this Super-GT is based on the vision of combining maximum driving performance with an entirely new design and high exclusiveness. The result is a breathtaking and beautiful sports coupé with 753 hp in a limited edition of only 25 cars world-wide. Thereby, each automobile will be as individual as its future owner. “We exclusively make the cars to order and the delivery quantity for 2010 is already sold out”, says CEO, Dipl. Ing. (FH) Markus Schuster.

With 753 hp and 1150 Newton metres in 3.7 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h

The performance data of the six litre V12 Bi-Turbo is impressive. The high-performance aggregate with a motor management optimisation patented by Carlsson renders 753 hp (554 kW) and allows fast acceleration as well as smooth travels at lower speeds. Also responsible for the perfect performance evolvement is the elaborately developed stainless steel exhaust system with ends in four edgy pipes at the back. The power catapults the C25 with a torque of 1320 Newton metres at 3750 r.p.m. which is electronically limited to 1,150 Newton metres from 0 to 100 km/h in only 3.7 seconds and achieves a maximum speed of 352 km/h.

Perfect combination between top performance and maximum driveability

When developing the Carlsson C25, the engineers from Gut Wiesenhof have achieved creating a Super-GT for smooth everyday use despite its very high performance. “There are more than enough super sports car in this world which can only be safely driven on a race track”, says Markus Schuster. “Therefore, we deliberately wanted to develop a car which is highly exclusive on the one hand and can be used for the daily journey to office on the other hand. Therefore, a Super-GT which can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in only 3.7 seconds and still offers a very pleasant driving comfort. All security-relevant regulations such as pedestrian protection, crash behaviour, ESP, ABS, Airbag systems are identical to large series editions with most modern standards.”

This is also achieved by the intelligent lowering system C-Tronic® SUSPENSION® which automatically recognises the road characteristics and driving manners and constantly adjusts the suspension setting accordingly. This does not only result in a pleasant journey on long routes, but also guarantees that the nodding and rolling motions of the C25 are reduced to a minimum while driving fast curves. Therefore, the car reaches the perfect road holding characteristics in every situation and renders the feeling of absolute controllability.

Different than other automobiles from small series, the Carlsson C25 has not been solely made for its use at the racetrack. Nevertheless, the C25 achieves top results in acceleration and handling. Compared to the racing machines with MOT approval, the Carlsson C25 offers its driver smooth journeys on Alpine passes and also on city roads or not perfectly even surfaces.

Maximum exclusiveness is ensured by only one automobile per country

In addition to the extensive refinement, the Carlsson C25 offers the advantage that every Mercedes-Benz dealer can maintain the car. As the automobile is based on the latest Mercedes-Benz technology, it is not necessary to drive to a garage, which is specialised in the Carlsson C25. This gives the Carlsson C25 additional suitability for everyday use. Moreover, Carlsson will only deliver one automobile per country and therefore ensures absolute exclusiveness for its customers.

Carlsson creates a perfect symbiosis of design and function

The C25 emphasises this exquisite status with its self-reliant and unique design. The elongated vehicle front with the tapered lobe between the powerful shoulders craves ahead and the generously dimensioned air inlets in the typical Carlsson trapezoid form supply the engine with the necessary ventilation. The ultra-light and forged wheels 1/10 UL in the dimensions 9,5×20 and 12×20 inches have been especially designed for the C25 and are equipped with high performance tyres measuring 265/30 at the front and 325/25 at the rear live axle.

One wheel just weighs 11.2 kilograms and therefore is 40 percent lighter than custom light alloy wheels. Ventilation ducts in front and behind the wheel houses provide the Carlsson brake system with 405 millimetres large slotted race brake discs at the front and 380 millimetre race brake discs at the rear axle with cool air. With this, Carlsson achieves the perfect symbiosis between design and function. The elongated flat rear screen and the restrained tearing edge on the boot lit as well as the generously dimensioned double diffuser render the required downthrust and therefore the C25 does not need any extensible spoilers. In order to emphasise the uniqueness of the C25, Carlsson has also developed a new rear- and front lights design.

Carlsson interior optimised for the driver

The newly designed interior resembles the exterior as far as shape, colour and functionality are concerned. The characteristic trapezoid elements at the front and back are also found on the steering wheel. On the seats and the centre console the edged shape is used as well. The instruments clearly turn towards the driver, indicate the performance capability of the C25 and increase the ergonomics.
The generous use of real carbon, tanned buffalo leather and ultra-suede in special colours provides an evenly exclusive and user-friendly ambience. For driveability reasons, Carlsson deliberately refrains from race seats, race straps, rollover devices and extreme lowering.

With the C25, Carlsson confirms its reputation as being one of the most exclusive automobile manufacturers in the world. High technical competence, many years experience in automobile construction, an advanced sense for design and elegance and German art of engineering make the Carlsson C25 unique all over the world.

It seems like Carlsson’s main goal in life is to specialize every single Mercedes-Benz model ever made. The Merzig-based tuner has announced a new RS-design kit for the S-Class sedan in carbon fiber and polyurethane. Carlsson’s main goal? To give the Mercedes-Benz S-Class an even “more sportive and unforgettable appearance.” Think of it as the RS package that is offered with the Chevrolet Camaro.

The RS-design kit gives the S-Class a new front apron, front lip spoiler, grille inserts, new side skirts with stainless steel grille inserts, a new rear-spoiler and a four-pipe end muffler that produces a racing sound.

The kit for the S-Class is topped off with 21-inch light alloy wheels. The kit is available for the whole S-Class Series.

Carlsson RS-Design Kit for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class:

Carlsson, known for its Mercedes-Benz modifications, is now offering a tuning package for the new Smart ForTwo which will be made available in the U.S. through GGI European tuning. Carlsson offers minor performance modifications (no horsepower increases) and a styling package that gives the Smart ForTwo some sleek styling.

Carlsson starts with new sport springs that lower the Smart ForTwo by 25mm providing a wider track result for crisper steering response, reduced roll and enhanced cornering ability. Carlsson is also offering a stainless-steel rear silencer with four polished pipes for the 84-hp turbocharged version and as an end-pipe only system for the 61-hp and 71-hp versions.

Appearance wise Carlsson added a new polyurethane front spoiler, electro-polished stainless-steel grille insert, fog-lights with chrome surroundings and a polyurethane diffuser at the rear. Inside, it gets a set of aluminum pedals and a handbrake grip. The Carlsson Smart ForTwo rides on 1/11 Evo BE wheels that are available in 16 or 17-inches.

Carlsson Smart ForTwo:

Carlsson, a well-known Mercedes-Benz tuner, has released its latest creation based on the CL65 AMG. The new Carlsson Aigner CK65 RS “Eau Rouge” Dark Edition made its official debut at the Zurich Auto Show today and will go into production with only 10 units planned.

The Carlsson Aigner CK65 RS features a new body kit in a two-tone color combination including Obsidian Black Metallic and Himalaya gray. Carlsson also added bi-xenon headlights, a radiator grille, and 21-inch light alloy wheels. The interior has also been upgraded and features a leather/alcantara trim, aluminum pedals and illuminated door sills.

Carlsson is offering two versions including a V12 Bi-Turbo with 705-hp and a second with 756-hp and a maximum torque of 848 lb-ft. Performance is enhanced with a sport exhaust system and Carlsson’s C-Tronic Suspension which lowers the CK65 RS by 30mm.

Prices for the Carlsson Aigner CK65 “Eau Rouge” Dark Edition with the V12 start from 319,000 euros and for the second power stage from 374,000 euros.

Carlsson, well-known tuner for Mercedes-Benz cars, has released its latest tuning package for the the 2008 Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG. Besides a pretty nice performance upgrade, Carlsson adds new wheels and couple of visual upgrades that makes this the hottest C 63 AMG around.

Improving the aerodynamics of the C 63 AMG, Carlsson added a new front spoiler, a front spoiler lip and a Carlsson rear spoiler. Carlsson also added a new grille along with 19-inch Carlsson 1/16 Ultra Light wheels.

Power wise, Carlsson increased output of the 6.3L V8 from 457-hp to 565-hp with a maximum torque of 505 lb-ft. 0 to 62 mph takes just 3.8 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 186 mph.  Carlsson has also added a sport rear muffler, a Carlsson RS coil-over kit which offers height adjustment and a limited slip differential.

Merzig, Germany ““ With the C-Class top-of-the line model C 63 AMG, Mercedes-Benz has given an impressive statement in the medium class. Where else can you get an enormous larger than 6 litre V8 engine in a relatively small car? But as the power output is comparably low, the high-tech manufacturer Carlsson activates the hidden potential. With up to 565 hp, the Carlsson CK63 leaves its competitors behind its (stainless steel) end pipes. And equipped with new wheels and even more sporty aerodynamics, the top-of-the line C-Class model refined by Carlsson also shows clear features of a top athlete.

Carlsson CK63 ““ that stands for performance and full torque. The performance kit for the motor type M156 increases the serial performance of the 6.3 litre V8 from 457 hp (336 kW) at 6,800 r.p.m up to 565 hp/415 kW. The torque significantly increases from 600 to 685 Nm and therefore the car only needs 3.8 seconds to accelerate from 0-100 km/h instead of the serial 4.5 seconds. Once more, the Carlsson engineers are able to prove their expertise gained in motor sports.

All kits include a special motor electronics adaption, a maximum speed increase up to 300 km/h (electronically limited), a sport air filter and a noble three-part Carlsson motor cover made of real carbon as well as the obligatory Carlsson nameplate in chrome. Carlsson gently limits the never-ending thrust at 300 km/h for all models with an electronic device. The Carlsson sport rear muffler from the 565 hp strong CK63 S-Kit not only renders an enormous sound but also 15 extra hp (11 kW).

Coil-over kit and limited slip differential

The perfectly set-up Carlsson RS coil-over kit which has been co-developed by Ellen Lohr offers a step-less height adjustment and renders a driving dynamics which has never been experienced before. With the individually adjustable damping characteristics, the driver can regulate the setup according to his preference. With this new technical development by Carlsson, the driver does not have to make any compromise. He can enjoy the comfort of the roadworthy suspension system or race for top speeds on a racetrack. To ensure that the extra performance which has been imbued to the C-Class by Carlsson does not go up in smoke on the asphalt, Carlsson recommends fitting its torque-sensitive multi-plate limited slip differential with mechanically variable lock-up (produced with lock-up values according to customer requirements). This increases the traction and driving stability, especially when accelerating in bends.

Powerful-dynamic Carlsson aerodynamics

The elaborate premium Carlsson aerodynamics consists of a front spoiler, the front spoiler lip RS and a Carlsson rear spoiler (with an imprinted Carlsson logo) which renders stability at higher speeds. All accessories are made of high-quality PUR or optionally real carbon. The styling kit does not only stand out for its perfect finishing, but also for its unique design. It emphasizes the Carlsson designers´ claim to always develop something a bit nobler than its competitors.

High Tech forged wheels 1/16 Ultra Light

When developing the Carlsson light alloy wheels 1/16 UL, the engineers and designers most of all focused on a perfect weight optimization. All force effects on the wheel are led into the wheel spider by the regular distribution of spokes. This avoids an over-dimensioned wall thickness and leads to a low wheel weight. The latest forging technology leads to a weight reduction of 38% compared to ordinary wheels with a similar wheel load and dimension! Thanks to the metal compression, the induced forces are forwarded in a far more homogenous way than with a cast wheel. Therefore, the unsprung masses are held as low as possible at the wheel suspensions and that leads to a noticeable driving comfort improvement by the Carlsson forged wheels compared to customary light alloy wheels. The forged Carlsson wheel 1/16 Ultra Light is available in the sizes 8,5×19″ (FA+RA) and 10×19″ (only RA) for the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG.

According to the customer requirements, Carlsson compiles various components to an individual comfort-mix, from a sport steering wheel to leather interiors or multi-media accessories.
