Bugatti’s work with the Veyron has been slowly coming to an end, leaving off with only rumors as to what the outstanding supercar brand could be coming up with next. But to make things far more interesting, Bugatti released some news stating that they just ordered two more years worth of Dual Clutch Transmissions, the same one specially made for the epic Veyron supercar.

Made and supplied by Ricardo, which is based in Leamington, UK, the news regarding the order of the seven-speed unit could mean that Bugatti is gearing up to release some new cars.

“Ricardo is really pleased to see a further extension of the partnership with Bugatti on the dual clutch transmission of the Veyron, a supercar that represents the ultimate in high quality automotive design, engineering and manufacture,” said Ricardo’s director of high performance transmission products, Mark Barge. “We look forward to two further very successful years in the story of this truly great automobile with its advanced Ricardo transmission.”

Details were sparse as to Bugatti’s reasoning for the order, though they were not specifically described. Considering the bits of rumors and trends floating around, the most likely reason could be that Bugatti is making a final version of the Veyron, which will ultimately signify the end of the car’s production completely

But at the same time, it’s not unruly to think that Bugatti is also finalizing a production version of their Veyron four-door, the Galibier.

Either way, we’re eager to learn what Bugatti’s going to come up with next.

The special edition Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport comes with a two-tone exterior with a yellow body and carbon fiber trimming. There are also black wheels with silver accents making us believe Bumblebee just received a big power and class upgrade.

On the inside, the color scheme is carried over with yellow leather and black trim.

Power comes from a W16 engine making 1,001-hp with a maximum torque of 921 lb-ft. Mated to a 7-gear DSG gearbox, 0 to 62 mph comes in 2.7 seconds with a top speed of 253 mph.

There will be only one model produced with prices starting at $2.03.

Hyderabad is pretty affluent city in India with a population of almost 7 million people. The nominal GDP of Hyderabad metro was estimated at $15 billion (USD) in 2010, so it’s pretty obvious the people that live in Hyderabad are pretty well off.

A motorcycle driver recently spotted a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport at Shamshabad International Airport in Hyderabad making an attempt to go over speed bumps. The driver obviously succeeded but it’s pretty painful to watch nonetheless.

“It is Bugatti’s intention to honour the very important Middle East market with this threefold variety and to provide its highly exclusive clientele in the Middle East an insight into how creativity and inspiration can be successfully driven to individualised luxury,” Bugatti said in a statement.

The first of the three special-edition Grand Sport models is a  horizontal color split with a bright yellow body and a underside in visible black carbon, including black-tinted wheels. The car features Bugatti founder Ettore Bugatti’s favorite color. The inside is finished in yellow-colored leather with black stitching and black carbon on the center console. Prices for this model start at 1.58 million euros ($2.15 million USD).

The second model is also a two-tone horizontal color split consisting of visible blue carbon, framed in polished, anodised aluminium. The wheels come in an aluminium polished and Diamond Cut two-tone finish. This Veyron Grand Sport also gets mirror-shine aluminum finish grills and air intakes. The inside features a nice tangerine leather and dark blue Indigo leather or exposed blue carbon fiber door panels, dashboard, steering wheel and console. Prices start at 1.74 million euros ($2.36 million USD).

Last but not least, the third Grand Sport model comes in a new green carbon fiber tone with polished aluminum. The rims, exterior mirrors and even the EB-logo at the rear are finished in polished aluminium. On the inside, this version features green and silver finishes. Prices also start at 1.74 million euros ($2.36 million USD).

Bugatti plans on making a total of 150 units of the Veyron Grand Sport. So far, only 45 have been sold.

Before Bugatti gets all upset, our headline is just a joke – the brand has no plans to build a competitor to the Aston Martin Cygnet for two reasons – first, it would be a horrible thing to do and second… well, Bugatti just doesn’t compete with Aston Martin.

Either way, someone, somewhere in this world is creative enough to turn there Honda Civic hatchback into something that looks like a mix between the Bugatti Veyron and the Galibier.

Automotive magazine Motor Trend’s latest video featuring an 11 sport car drag race was quite an enthusiast crowd pleaser. Magazine Road&Track is now looking to create the same viewing pleasure with three cars that cost a whole lot more than all the 11 car’s in Motor Trend’s video together.

The company took the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, the Nissan GT-R and the Porsche 911 Turbo S and pinned them up against each other.

Famed R & B singer and entertainer is reported to be an inconsiderate parker.

Unlike most superstars who enjoy a supercar collection, Brown didn’t opt for the ideal situation to store and maintain his personal fleet. His neighbors aren’t giving him a free pass for fame on his disregard for parking rules, either.

Brown resides in a building in West Hollywood, California that provides off street parking via a private garage. It is reported that his cars are being parked in reserved handicapped spaces there.

A lawyer has been retained by the singer to handle the matter. In his defense the lawyer comments that when Brown originally purchased the condo that there was an agreement for additional parking spots. The landlord is getting the blame for not advising that they are the handicapped spots that he was provided. The matter will be escalated to court.

When people have money but just don’t quite have enough, especially to dolly up for the $1 million-plus price tag of the legendary Bugatti Veyron, yet relentlessly want the car, sometimes individuals would do the unthinkable in order to get what they want. And that’s exactly what 25-year old Mike Duff from Florida did.

But instead of selling his left leg and kidney for e Bugatti Veyron, Mr. Duff took a normal and complete 2002 Mercury Cougar and more or less made a “Cougatti Veyron.”

Using fiberglass, composite material and a tubular steel frame, the body of the faux supercar was professionally painted and fitted to the Cougar. And Duff didn’t stop there. In order to avoid having an interior that’s exactly the same as the normal, cheap insides of the Cougar, Duff festooned everything in genuine high-quality leather.

Duff said the car took him about nine months from start to finish. With the end results, Duff is selling his “Cougatti” for around $89,000, which is a fraction of the price of the original Veyron.

Unfortunately however, despite the custom body work that actually doesn’t look quite terrible, the lethargic 2.5L V6 good for 170-hp in the Cougar still sits under the front hood driving the front wheels.

We reported this past weekend that American supercar maker Shelby Supercars will reveal the name of its upcoming model in the coming weeks. Well, it just happened to be the ‘coming days.’ The Washington based supercar maker announced today that the next SSC Ultimate Aero II will carry the name “TUATARA (pronounced twu‐tar‐ah).”

“The design specifications for the Next Generation SSC were so extreme; we knew early on that a proper name would be a key piece of the puzzle for this project,” says Jerod Shelby, Founder, Lead Designer and CEO of SSC.

The name of the SSC Tuatara was apparently inspired by a modern day New Zealand reptile that is a direct descendent of dinosaurs.

“While the Tuatara is a very unique creature, there was a particular property of this reptile that immediately married it with SSC,” SSC said in a statement. “The Tuatara possesses the fastest evolving DNA in the world, and amongst the world’s greatest supercar manufacturers, so does SSC.”

So far we know that the SSC Tuatara will be powered by a 6.8L V8 engine making 1,350-hp, which will allow it to go from 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds with a top speed of 275 mph. That will make it the fastest car in the world after the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport.

Well, The company is now unveiling another special-edition Veyron in a partnership with Konigliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin, a renowned produced with an ability in creating pieces of automotive art.

Bugatti fans will have to find something new to daydream about Three-hundred units of the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 model were produced, and just recently, the last one available was ordered. Scheduled for delivery next fall, the vehicle is headed for Europe.

In 1998 the Volkswagen Group bought the Bugatti name’s rights. One year later a concept car was debuted at the Tokyo motor show, which was the concept that would eventually become the Veyron.

Making this car unique amongst all others, the Bugatti Veyron is the premiere production car to feature a full carbon-fiber monoque. The special support system houses an 8.0-liter W16 motor that puts out the four digit horsepower figure of 1,001-hp and 922 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a seven-speed twin-clutch transmission, and all that power will get you from 0-62mph in just 2.5 seconds.

Those with a serious need for speed had an option to upgrade to the Super Sport, which puts out 1,200-hp and 1,106 lb-ft of torque.

All 300 units sold for at least $1,700,500 in the U.S.

The Grand Sport, the world’s fastest convertible, to continue Bugatti tradition Molsheim, 24 June 2011 – The final Bugatti Veyron has now been ordered by a European customer, marking an end to the triumphant reign of the supercar with an exclusive production run of 300 models and its even faster cousin the Super Sport. The coupé versions of the Veyron are worthy successors to the heritage of classic Bugattis, now collector’s items of unparalleled status and optimum appreciation, which today are amongst the most valuable cars in existence.

But the story of Bugatti’s exceptional sports car is set to continue. The Grand Sport, a supercar with the very highest technical specifications, remains available to automotive connoisseurs. In its closedtop incarnation with a transparent roof it reaches top speeds of 407 km/h; with the roof removed a maximum speed of 360 km/h makes the Grand Sport the fastest convertible in the world.

The development of the Bugatti Veyron represented one of the greatest technical challenges and engineering achievements in automotive history. Volkswagen bought the rights to the Bugatti brand in 1998, and just one year later the company presented its fourth concept vehicle, the close-to production study EB 18/4 Veyron at the Tokyo Motor Show. Barely six years down the line, on 29 April 2005, a Veyron exceeded 400 km/h for the very first time, and six months later was presented to its global audience.

The Veyron was and remains a synthesis of superlative technical achievements. It was the first production vehicle to have a full carbon-fibre monocoque, and its torsional rigidity of 60,000 Newton meters per degree remains unparalleled to this day. The 7,993 cm3 capacity sixteen-cylinder engine with its four continuously variable camshafts and four turbochargers is capable of a top speed of 407 2 Bugatti km/h, developing 1,001 PS (736 kW). The seven-gear twin-clutch gearbox governs an unbelievable 1,250
Newton meters of torque, and is one of the fastest transmissions in the world with shift times of less than 150 milliseconds. Acceleration from 0 to 100 takes place in a legendary 2.5 seconds.

The European customer who has bought the 300th Veyron has never purchased a Bugatti before. Delivery is scheduled for next autumn.

Three thieves from Poland stole a significant spread of vehicles about a month ago. Among the goods: a  Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, a BMW 7-Series, and special edition Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Sang Bleu.

The cars where stolen from Oberrieden, Switzerland. The goal was to get the cars back to Poland, by way of Germany.

German autobahns offered no cover for the thieves, and police had no trouble picking up two of the three. Unfortunately, the driver of the Veyron managed to scrape the car along a guard rail before he was caught. As for the third driver, he managed to get away by abandoning the Ferrari 599 in Furth, Germany, at a train station. He still has not been caught.

Aside from the obvious charges, the two men that were caught are facing a hefty tax bill. Any smugglers transporting stolen goods through Germany are hit with a 10% tariff and 19% import tax, as a result of their European Union membership.

The taxes tally up to around $522,000, considering the cost of the stolen exotics.

Tramar Dillard, better known as rapper Flo Rida, was arrested in Miami Beach when police spotted him driving erratically, and found him to be drunk behind the wheel of his $1.3 million Bugatti Veyron.

His Breathalyzer proved him to be roughly under about twice the legal limit, blowing a 1.8. Police say he was swerving in and out of lanes, and when he was signaled to pull over, Flo Rida continued on for another two blocks. When he finally stopped, he confessed to the police that he had been drinking and that he would not be able to properly walk a straight line.

A crowd of fans gathered where he was pulled over and wanted police to let him go, even offering him a ride home. Police arrested him and he then made bail.

Flo Rida comment on his car last December when he purchased it, saying “I’m a big Mercedes guy. I just got a new car, the Bugatti. You don’t want to use the second gear (in the city) because it’s very powerful.”

Yachts seem to be a favorite you of luxury supercar buyers and it would be a dream come true if a supercar brand built their very own yacht to go hand-in-hand with a respective model. Following that belief, designer Ben Walsh has come up with a new yacht inspired by the Bugatti Veyron Sang Bleu Grand Sport.

The Bugatti Veyron Sang Bleu Grand Sport is the very last special-edition of the Veyron to be built and by far one of the most beautiful Veyron’s we’ve seen to date.

Bugatti Veyron Super Sport

Bugatti has just released two new versions of the Veyron at the Shanghai Motor Show this week for the Asian markets.

The special edition Grand Sport version with the chop top targa roof was given a special color scheme to differentiate itself from other versions offered in wither the European or American markets. It consists of a matte white paintjob with blue carbon fiber on the lower fenders. The interior receives a similar treatment to the exterior with blue materials and white stitching where applicable.

The second is a Veyron Super Sport, also given special color schemes to equally rarify itself from the others. That receives a black lacquered carbon fiber and cream interior with a black matte exterior.

The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport is the most powerful and fastest convertible in the world today. Just the three telling figures 736 kW (1,001 PS), 1,250 Nm torque and a top speed of 407 km/h (limited) make it clear that amongst convertibles this car is truly in a league of its own. When opened to the skies, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport reaches top speeds of 360 km/h leaving other convertibles standing in its dust.

Accompanying the sheer thrill of driving with the top down is a quite extraordinary sonorous roar that no other automobile can match. The sounds of the 16-cylinder mid-mounted engine and the unmistakably intense inhalation from the air intakes as you release the accelerator forge an inimitable acoustic experience.

And should rain clouds appear, a textile canopy that is stowed in the trunk and functions in the same way as an umbrella can be fitted before the first drops fall. This soft top for passing showers remains securely in place up to 160 km/h. The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport presented in Shanghai comes completely in black visible carbon carbon. The details in the polished and anodized aluminum set an excellent contrast as the outer surfaces of the alloy wheels and the EB logos on wheel caps, fuel filler cap and rear lid. The interior of the Super Sport is draped in two-tone “Snow Beige” and “Beluga Black”. Carbon continues as a defining theme in the inside, sheathing the doors and inset in the central console. The rest is in highly exclusive “Snow Beige” leather. The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport shown in Shanghai has already been sold to a customer in China.

The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport is the fastest car worldwide

The Super Sport is based on the classic Veyron 16.4 but with an output of 882 kW (1,200 PS) is 146 kW (200 PS) more powerful. Bugatti pilote officiel Pierre-Henri Raphanel last year set a new world speed record for production vehicles on the Volkswagen test track in Ehra Lessien, achieving 431 km/h and an entry into the Guinness Book of Records. The production version is electronically limited to 415 km/h to protect the tires.

The power development of the 7,993 cm3 capacity 16-cylinder engine is made possible by the four enlarged turbochargers and intercoolers. The chassis has also been extensively redesigned, in order to handle the car’s extreme dynamism with safety. With lateral acceleration of up to 1.4 g, the improved interaction between the tyres and the intelligent all-wheel drive system enables perfect handling. At the same time all powertrain components have also been comprehensively reinforced, to transfer the acceleration of up to 1,500 Nm safely to all four drive wheels.

Instead of the air intakes above the engine, fresh air is fed in via two NACA ducts set into the roof. The Super Sport’s front view is characterized by expanded, reshaped air intakes, with the lower one extending around the sides to the wheel arch to lend this supreme sports car an even more assured appearance. Meanwhile at the rear the Super Sport features a revised rear panel arrangement and engine cover, a new double diffuser and a centrally arranged exhaust system with two broad chrome exhaust tips. The modified rear and the redesigned roof both enhance the aerodynamics of this quintessential Bugatti.

Ferrari Enzo

A Ferrari inspired by a Bugatti? Well, if Ferrari is understood correctly, the much-anticipated successor to the Ferrari Enzo has been shaped by the Bugatti Veyron.

“The world is a very different place to how it was when the Enzo was launched,” company sources told AutoCar. “It has moved on completely. And we are Ferrari – we do not take part to make up the numbers”

Previous reports have said that the successor to the Ferrari Enzo will be powered by a twin-turbo V8 pushing over 700-hp. Power will be transferred to the ground via a seven-speed sequential gearbox, with a dual-clutch setup. Other reports have even suggested that the next Ferrari Enzo will use the gasoline/hybrid technology shown in the Ferrari 599 GTB HY-KERS concept.

The Ferrari Enzo successor is expected to show up sometime in 2012.

Bugatti Veyron Pur Sang

The literally shiny Bugatti Veyron Pur Sang will be going under the auction block at the 2011 Top Marques Monaco show this week. Of course the Top Marques Monaco will be the perfect place to auction off a Veyron, since it’s one of the only live supercar shows in the world.

But this isn’t just any Veyron – this is the Bugatti Veyron Pur Sang – and then this just isn’t any of the five Bugatti Veyron Pur Sangs roaming the planet Earth. No, this Bugatti Veyron Pur Sang is the first of the five units ever built and the bidding for it will start at a whopping £1.7 million ($2.7 million USD).

Pace Germany, a car sales company for the rich, is offering the car for that hefty price tag but hey, at least you’re getting a 1,001-hp engine, a raw carbon fiber and aluminum paint finish, four-wheel-drive, navigation system, climate control, electric windows and an automatic gearbox.

General Motors has celebrated the first delivery of the Chevrolet Volt and Nissan has celebrated the first delivery of the Nissan LEAF – so it surprises us when an elite automaker like Bugatti doesn’t celebrate the first delivery of the first Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport in the United States.

Well, we guess that’s what YouTube and smartphones are for.
