Refresher: The 2013 BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe will be available in the United States in three models including the 640i Gran Coupe, which will be available early summer 2012. The 650i Gran Coupe and the 650i Gran Coupe xDrive will join the range later in the summer. The BMW 640i Gran Coupe will be powered by a 3.0 liter 6-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engine making 315-hp at 5,800 to 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 330 lb-ft between 1,300 and 4,500 rpm. That allows 0 to 62 mph to come in just 5.4 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph. The 650i Gran Coupe models will be powered by a 4.4 liter twin-turbo V8 making  445-hp between 5,500 and 6,000 rpm with a maximum torque of 480 lb-ft between 2,000 and 4,500 rpm. 0 to 62 mph comes in 4.6 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph.

Refresher: Power for the 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster comes from the 6.3L V8 front-mid engine making 563-hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transaxle transmission and a sports suspension with aluminum double wishbones. The Adaptive AMG Sport Suspension with electronically controlled damping is available as an option and allows the damping characteristics to be modified at the touch of a button. Using the AMG DRIVE UNIT, the driver is allowed to pick from three different suspension modes including Comfort, Sport and Sport Plus. The fabric soft-top of the 2012 SLS AMG Roadster opens and closes in just 11 seconds and can be operated on the move at speeds of up to 31 mph.

Earlier this year, Tesla Motors released a photo of its first prototype for the Model S electric sedan, known as the Model S Alpha. A Tesla employee also confirmed that a second prototype was also in the works known as the Model S Beta. While we still haven’t seen the Model S Beta, Tesla has released some new images of the Model S Alpha.

Standard transmission choice include a 5-speed manual while an optional 6-speed automatic is available. Moving up, buyers can pick a 2.0 TDI Clean Diesel 4-cylinder unit making 140-hp and 236 lb-ft of torque. Mated to a 6-speed DSG transmission, the 2012 Passat TDI gets 43 mpg on the highway and a range of approximately 800 miles. The range-topping 2012 Volkswagen Passat is powered by a 3.6L VR6 units producing 280-hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. Mated to a 6-speed DSG, the 2012 Passat VR6 will get 28 mpg on the highway. Prices will start around $20,000.

Just last month, Opel unveiled the Corsa OPC Nurburgring Edition, known as the hottest hatch to ever come from the GM-owned German brand. McLaren MP4-12C GT3

About a month ago, the McLaren MP4-12C GT3 successfully completed its debut tests at the e MIRA proving ground facility and Silverstone Circuit in England. Today, McLaren Automotive and McLaren Racing released a bunch of new videos and images of the model.

McLaren Automotive, McLaren Racing, McLaren Electronic Systems and McLaren Applied Technologies have joined forces with CRS Racing in development and support of new MP4-12C GT3.

McLaren GT said that it plans to offer MP4-12C GT3 owners access to advanced McLaren Simulator programs from 2012. A total of 20 MP4-12C GT3 race cars homologated for GT3 racing in 2012. The model will make a special appearance at the 2011 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The Mercedes-Benz Concept A-Class made its world debut today at the 2011 Shanghai Motor Show and the Stuttgart automaker has released a bunch of new images of the hatchback concept giving us a closer look at the future BMW 1-Series, Audi A3 rival.
