Brabus, the German tuner popular for its work on Mercedes-Benz models, has tuned the CL 600 to squeeze out more horsepower and add some sleek styling mods, resulting in the Brabus 800 Coupe.

The Mercedes-Benz CL 600 comes stock with a V12 that puts out 510-hp and 612 lb-ft, yet power mods are still where this tuner leaves its lasting impression. Brabus took the motor’s displacement to 6.3-liters, up from 5.5- liters, with a larger cylinder bore and forged pistons. Also, the tuner swapped out Benz’s turbo for its own, and replaced the standard crankshaft with one that has a longer stroke. The result? An awesome 788-hp and 1,047 lb-ft of torque (electronically limited to 811 lb-ft).

The five-speed automatic 800 Coupe gets all the way up to 217-mph before the governer kicks in, and the car goes 0-62 mph in only 3.9 seconds.

Mods for the exterior include 21-inch wheels, a module that can lower the car down by 25mm, and gets stopping power provided by the tuner’s own high performance break system.

The interior is a high contrast mix of black Alcantara and white leather with diamond stitching, and has carbon fiber accents throughout the car, aluminum pedals, and a sport steering wheel.

As time goes on, the automobile industry has been proving that green motoring need not be boring. And to add to the case, Mercedes-Benz tuner Brabus has just unveiled a new EV based on the E-Class. Unfortunately however, Brabus made clear that their EV is just a prototype and isn’t for sale. Either way, let’s see what they’re on about.

Brabus took the Mercedes-Benz W221 E220 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY and added a hybrids system in conjunction with Protean Electric, an English electric motor manufacturer.

Featuring two individual wheel hub motors in the rear axle, the motors can provide the Brabus E220 CDI a combined extra of 67-hp while in Eco mode and an extra 107-hp when in Sport mode. Altogether with the 2.2L common-rail turbodiesel, the Brabus E220 can achieve a grand total of 215-hp and – get this – an Earth-shattering 1,180 lb-ft of torque. Up, you read that right. This comes thanks to the upgrade kit that Brabus treats the diesel with, which they call the BRABUS ECO PowerXtra D3 (V) Performance kit. Lastly, 60 mph comes up 7.4 seconds versus the normal E220’s 8.4

The Brabus E220 CDI is also capable of driving on an entirely electric mode thanks to an 18.6 kWh lithium battery. In electric mode, the Brabus E220 CDI can go up to 75 miles on one charge in Eco mode and 50 miles on Sport.

Check out the full details after the jump.

———

Press Release:

World Debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show IAA

BRABUS Technology Project HYBRID Based on the Mercedes-Benz E 220 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY

BRABUS (Brabus-Allee, D-46240 Bottrop, phone + 49 / (0) 2041 / 777-0, fax + 49 / (0) 2041 / 777 111, Internet www.brabus.com) combines the best of two worlds, an efficient direct-injection diesel with BRABUS ECO tuning and two electric wheel hub motors, in a world debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show IAA. The project vehicle HYBRID was developed by the BRABUS ZERO EMISSION business division, which works on alternative drive technologies, in cooperation with the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety. This car is an innovative hybrid version of the Mercedes E 220 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY known for its outstanding fuel economy ex-factory. The project vehicle has been developed to small-series-production maturity.

The BRABUS development engineers have adapted two supplemental wheel hub motors from English manufacturer Protean ELECTRIC to the rear axle of the E-Class sedan.

These alternative drives, which in Eco mode each produce 50 kW of continuous power and 80 kW in Sport mode, are designed to fit in the BRABUS Monoblock Q 19-inch wheels.

With a combined peak power output of 160 kW and a total peak torque of 1,600 Nm (1,180 lb-ft) the two electric motors supplement the existing 2.2-liter common-rail turbodiesel engine, which was equipped with a BRABUS ECO PowerXtra D3 (V) performance kit. This tuning kit consists of an auxiliary control unit that features engine mapping developed on state-of-the-art engine test benches for optimizing fuel economy and CO2 emissions.

The objective of this measure was less the power increase by 30 hp (29 bhp / 22 kW) to 200 hp (197 bhp / 147 kW) produced by the plug-and-play module. Much more important is the increase in peak torque from standard 400 to 450 Nm (295 to 332 lb-ft). It gives the vehicle even more pulling power, regardless of whether the vehicle is in hybrid or conventional operating mode, and results in better fuel economy and reduced CO2 emissions.

The two wheel hub motors turn the four-door car into the even more fuel efficient and ecofriendly BRABUS HYBRID. The various operating modes can be preselected from the cockpit.

During all-electric operation the car is powered by an 18.6-kWh lithium-ion battery pack housed in a custom-made well in the underbody. It gives the BRABUS HYBRID in all-electric Eco mode a maximum operating range of 120 kilometers (75 miles) without any CO2 emissions. Even in Sport mode the car has an all-electric range of 80 kilometers (50 miles), which easily meets the requirements of the majority of motorists who on average drive less than 60 kilometers (37 miles) a day.

During all-electric operation the batteries are charged by energy recuperation. While coasting or braking the system reaches a maximum recuperation power of 140 kW. For charging at home with ecofriendly eco electricity the use of the car charger from German energy provider RWE is recommended. It can recharge the battery pack with a current of 380 volts and a charging capacity of 50 kW in 30 minutes. On the road the batteries can be recharged with the on-board charger on any standard 220 V AC outlet or on a 380 V three-phase power supply.

In hybrid mode, the 200 hp (197 bhp) / 147 kW of the diesel engine and the maximum 160 kW of the electric drive in Sport mode work together in highly efficient fashion. Acceleration time for 0 – 100 km/h (62 mph) improves from standard 8.7 to 7.4 seconds.

Despite of the added weight of 255 kilograms (562 lbs.) compared to a stock E 220 CDI, the BRABUS HYBRID also shines in the area of pulling power thanks to its supplemental electric drive: the intermediate sprint from 60 to 120 km/h (37 to 74 mph) now only takes 5.6 seconds.

At the same time the combination with the electric motors eases the load on the combustion engine, significantly reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions further. Naturally drivers have the option to operate solely in diesel mode. In this case the batteries can also be recharged by the wheel hub motors which also function as alternators.

The work of the BRABUS development team was not limited to the integration of the two electric motors for all-electric or hybrid operation alone.

The higher vehicle weight and the altered weight distribution resulting from the installation of the wheel hub motors and the batteries in the rear necessitated the development of a new suspension. A height-adjustable comfortable sports suspension with variable damper rates was developed in cooperation with technology partner BILSTEIN.

The tires are supplied by technology partners Continental, Pirelli and YOKOHAMA. They are mounted front and back in size 245/35 ZR 19 on BRABUS Monoblock Q alloy wheels with five double spokes.

The brakes are a BRABUS custom development as well. Special brake discs gripped by two calipers per wheel are attached to the rear of the wheel hub motors on the rear axle. All standard driver assist systems such as ABS and Brake Assist are retained.

The BRABUS front fascia, manufactured like all body components in OEM quality from high-grade Pur-R-Rim plastics, is designed to replace the production bumper in its entirety. Its sophisticated shape reduces lift on the front axle and also lends the sedan an even more striking nose. An innovative lighting concept with economical LED daytime running lights furthermore optimizes active safety.

BRABUS front aluminum sport fenders emphasize the sporty appearance of the concept car. BRABUS side skirts give the sedan a longer, sleeker appearance. Integrated LED entrance lights ensure safe entering and exiting of the vehicle in the dark. A blue-backlit BRABUS logo is integrated into each sill and activated together with the entrance lights.

BRABUS aluminum pedals and footrest add sporty highlights to the interior. A newly developed instrument cluster provides information about the state of charge of the battery pack. A control panel in the cockpit gives drivers the option to select all-electric mode, hybrid operation or diesel engine only.

A special edition Smart Fortwo Cabrio has been crafted by Brabus in conjunction with street fashion brand WeSC to be released at next week’s 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show.

Smart is using the special edition to target younger buyers. Selecting WeSC is part of that motive, as the company was formed by skateboarders and snowboarders that wanted to incorporate their culture into apparel and footwear. The brand, who’s initials stand for We Are the Superlative Conspiracy, was formed back in 1999.

Brabus selected a palette that the WeSC team chose from, resulting in a gold paint scheme in both high gloss and matte finishes, quilted leather seats, and black wheels.

German tuning firm Brabus, famous for their decked-out lineup of Mercedes-Benzes, has just teased a new car to the public, just short of its Frankfurt Motor Show debut in September.

From just the visible details alone, it appears to be a C-Class. Maybe it could be a wicked version of the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe Black Series? Who knows. Either way, we’ll definitely find out come the Frankfurt Motor Show next month.

Press Release:

The BRABUS Sport Program for the new Mercedes SLK

A sporty designer suit, custom-tailored wheels with diameters of up to 20 inches complete with corresponding suspension options, performance tuning for all engines and exclusive interior design: BRABUS (Brabus-Allee, D-46240 Bottrop, phone + 49 / (0) 2041 / 777-0, fax + 49 / (0) 2041 / 777 111, Internet www.brabus.com) now offers an extensive customization program for the new Mercedes SLK.

Sporty-elegant BRABUS aerodynamic-enhancement components give the roadster an even more thrilling appearance. The two BRABUS front spoiler lips that attach on the left and right side of the production apron and the striking bezels for the daytime running lights lend the SLK a more striking nose. But that’s not all: the spoilers also reduce lift on the front axle which particularly benefits directional stability at high speeds.

The BRABUS side sill attachments emphasize the sporty lateral lines of the car and seem to make the rear fenders wider visually. The rear of the car receives some added sporty character with the BRABUS diffuser and the BRABUS rear spoiler on the trunk lid. The diffuser is integrated with utmost precision into the production bumper and features a centrally mounted rear reflector. These aerodynamic-enhancement components also serve more than just a visual function; they reduce lift in the rear as well.

A major contribution to the sporty appearance of the new SLK from Bottrop likewise comes from the BRABUS Monoblock wheels, which are available in various one-piece or multi-piece designs with diameters ranging from 17 to 20 inches.

The attached photos show the roadster equipped with BRABUS Monoblock F wheels painted the new exclusive ‘Liquid Titanium’ color. They are mounted in size 8.5Jx20 in front and in size 9.5Jx20 on the rear axle. BRABUS recommends high-performance tires from Continental, Pirelli or YOKOHAMA in sizes 235/30 ZR 20 on the front axle and 275/25 ZR 20 in back.

BRABUS sport springs were custom-developed to match the conversion to these king-sized tires. They are calibrated to work with the production shocks, and lower the ride height of the two-seater by some 30 millimeters (1.2 inches). BRABUS also offers various versions of its high-performance brake systems for the new SLK.

These measures furthermore make the new SLK perfectly suited for some extra power. In a first step BRABUS offers efficient and reasonably priced BRABUS ECO PowerXtra CGI tuning for the four-cylinder direct-injection engines. The processor-controlled BRABUS ECO PowerXtra CGI auxiliary control modules are custom-tailored to each respective engine variant and can be installed by any authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer in less than an hour thanks to their ‘plug and play’ design. All performance kits are backed by the one-of-a-kind BRABUS Tuning Warranty® of three years, up to 100,000 kilometers / 62,000 miles (updated November 2006). BRABUS recommends Aral high-performance lubricants.

To retain the engine’s longevity and fatigue strength these kits are designed to only activate the performance-enhancing mapping when all parameters such as engine temperature etc. are in the green. This effectively prevents the performance increase from negatively affecting the service life of the engine.

After the installation of the BRABUS ECO PowerXtra B20 CGI performance kit the four-cylinder direct-injection engine of the SLK 200 BlueEFFICIENCY produces an extra 26 hp (25 bhp) / 19 kW of power and an additional 30 Nm (22 lb-ft) of peak torque.

The new SLK 250 BlueEFFICIENCY can be upgraded at BRABUS in two stages. The BRABUS ECO PowerXtra B25 CGI module bumps power output of the four-cylinder direct-injection engine from standard 204 hp (201 bhp) / 150 kW to 230 hp (226 bhp) / 169 kW at just 5,500 rpm.

Another ten additional horsepower can be realized with the supplementary installation of a larger intercooler and an electronically controlled BRABUS sport wastegate valve that are part of the BRABUS ECO PowerXtra B25S CGI performance kit. 240 hp (236 bhp) / 176 kW of power and 370 Nm (273 lb-ft) of torque in overboost mode accelerate the two-seater in 6.2 seconds from rest to 100 km/h on the way to a top speed of 248 km/h (154 mph).

On the road all CGI engines performance-tuned by BRABUS deliver not just excellent driving performance but also optimized pulling power from low engine speeds and favorable fuel economy. Just as important for the BRABUS engine specialists were exemplary low emissions: like the corresponding non-tuned engines all engines with BRABUS ECO PowerXtra CGI performance kit meet strict EURO V emission limits.

The installation of the BRABUS stainless-steel sport exhaust system is advantageous not only for tuned engines. Its four tailpipes featuring the typical BRABUS design not only give the roadster an even more exclusive appearance but also produce an even sportier exhaust note for all engine variants.

Another focus of the BRABUS refinement of the new Mercedes SLK is the interior. BRABUS offers an extensive program for the roadster: it includes attractive accessories such as high-gloss polished stainless-steel scuff plates with BRABUS logo and sporty elements such as aluminum foot pedals and shifter.

Requests for even more individuality can be fulfilled by the BRABUS upholstery shop in the form of exclusive interiors crafted from especially soft and breathable BRABUS Mastik leather and Alcantara.

Brabus recently unveiled its version of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Convertible known as the E V12 Cabriolet – which is now the fastest four-seater convertible out. Inside, out, and under, the E-Class has received admirable attention from Brabus.

How fast does the world’s fastest cabriolet go? Fast enough to get you 0-62 in 3.7 seconds. Brabus modified the biturbo V12 with upgraded exhaust manifolds, turbo size, and water-to-air intercoolers. Displacement has been bored out 6.3-liters. The engine delivers 800-hp at 1,047 lb-ft of torque, and can take the car all the way up to 231-mph.

All that power is housed by a custom ram-air hood crafted of carbon-fiber, as is the rest of body kit. Air outlets get rid of hot air more efficiently, and the front apron keeps the front end down to the pavement, and houses a distinctive set of LEDs. The car was widened overall and gets 10-inch wide wheels wrapped in 295/30 ZR 19 tires to match.

Click here for more news on the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

Ten suspension options are available thanks to the specially made suspension. The height on the E-Class can also be adjusted within a 35 millimeter range.

The inside of the Mercedes is covered in red and black leather. New parts include a steering wheel, redesigned dash, and center console.

Custom orders can be picked up starting at $681,200.

Press Release:

BRABUS “iBusiness 2.0″ with the new Apple iPad 2

BRABUS “iBusiness 2.0:” Under this motto BRABUS is the first company worldwide to develop a multimedia system based on the new Apple iPad 2. The tablet computer, integrated into the rear compartment of the Mercedes S-Class, controls on-board entertainment and the high-speed Internet connection: The BRABUS engineers have also developed an application that integrates the iPad2 into the on-board electronics system and enables the iPad2 to control all functions of the S-Class COMAND system from the rear seats. Thanks to the integrated cameras of the new iPad generation the “iBusiness 2.0″ system is supremely suited for video conferencing. As a BRABUS 800 “iBusiness 2.0″ model the high-tech luxury sedan is also the fastest office on wheels. The BRABUS 800 twelve-cylinder twin-turbo engine produces 800 hp (788 bhp) / 588 kW and a peak torque of 1,420 Nm (1,047 lb-ft). It catapults the four-seater to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 350 km/h (219 mph).

The BRABUS “iBusiness 2.0″ multimedia system perfectly integrates a choice of one or two iPad 2 tablets into the rear compartment. A custom-tailored version of the refined BRABUS table was developed for this purpose, which fits perfectly against the backrest of the front seat thanks to a custom-developed console. The electrically deployed and infinitely adjustable tabletop is covered with the same supple leather as the entire interior, and is bordered by an elegant high-gloss aluminum frame. The table features custom-tailored recesses for holding the iPad and the corresponding Bluetooth keyboard either vertically or horizontally.

The iPad2 not only controls the entire BRABUS multimedia system from the rear or the passenger seat. Due to its much higher computing power and up to nine times faster graphics compared to its predecessor it offers even more possibilities than the first “iBusiness” generation.

Via a WiFi network the iPad 2 is connected to a Mini Mac, which a serves as the central computer. The ultra-small yet powerful computer is safely housed in the S-Class trunk under the rear shelf in an electrically deployed drawer whose design mirrors the design of the computer itself.

The BRABUS electronics specialists also integrate the new tablet computer into the on-board electronics system. In this way the COMAND system and all its functions such as radio, navigation and telephone can be controlled from the rear seats.

When the iPad 2 is not in use or when the “iBusiness” is parked, it can be stored securely and hidden from sight in custom-tailored compartments in the BRABUS center console. An integrated docking station recharges its batteries.

A special BRABUS App for iPad, iPad 2 and iPhone is also part of the state-of-the-art communication concept of the luxury sedan.

A 15.2-inch TFT display with 16:9 aspect ratio serves as an auxiliary monitor for the new Apple tablet PC. The electrically deployed screen is stylishly integrated into the headliner covered with the finest Alcantara and contrasted with leather. The standard screens in the back of the front seats can be used for watching TV via DVBT or for other program sources.

High-speed USB ports integrated into the rear compartment allow connecting various peripherals to the Mac such as a digital camera. The “iBusiness 2.0″ is connected to the Internet via UMTS and HDSPA.

The music comes from a 64GB Apple iPod touch that can store more than 14,000 songs. Digital television signals can be received via DVBT.

The sound is reproduced either by the sound system of the S-Class or by Sennheiser Noise Gard headphones, which filter out any unwanted ambient noise for unparalleled listening pleasure in the rear compartment.

Power-operated curtains provide privacy for the rear passengers and together with an innovative color-changing interior lighting system create a serene atmosphere.

The BRABUS all-leather interior creates an exclusive ambiance. It is crafted with utmost precision in the company upholstery shop. The two-tone combination is made from high-quality BRABUS leather, which is not only very soft and breathable but also extremely durable. Two individual power seats in the rear provide maximum seating comfort.

An unusual augmentation to the exclusive appointments is the BRABUS Yachting wood-trim package. It lends the interior of the luxury sedan a maritime feel that is reminiscent of classic Italian sport boats. All wood trim elements of the S-Class are painstakingly created by hand from hundreds of individual pieces and have the look and feel of a miniature ship veneer. The wood inlays have a high-gloss finish and meet the latest automotive quality and safety guidelines.

Scuff plates with illuminated BRABUS logo, an ergonomically shaped sport steering wheel and anodized aluminum pedals add further individual highlights.

The BRABUS “iBusiness 2.0″ multimedia system with Apple iPad 2 can be installed in any current S-Class model from the S 350 to the S 65. The twelve-cylinder models S 600 and S 65 can be upgraded by the BRABUS 800 V12 Biturbo engine and thus become BRABUS 800 “iBusiness 2.0″ models, the world’s fastest office on wheels.

The BRABUS high-capacity engine, lubricated exclusively with fully-synthetic Aral motor oil, produces 800 hp (788 bhp) / 588 kW at 5,500 rpm and an even more impressive peak torque of 1,420 Nm, available from a low 2,100 rpm. In the car peak torque is limited electronically to 1,100 Nm (847 lb-ft).

These extraordinary performance figures make the BRABUS 800 “iBusiness 2.0″ unique in the discipline of driving performance as well. Acceleration times from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) of 3.9 seconds and of just 10.3 seconds to 200 km/h (124 mph) are as unmatched in this vehicle category as is the electronically limited top speed of 350 km/h (219 mph).

On the outside the “iBusiness 2.0″ wears a sporty yet elegant BRABUS designer suit, which was developed in the wind tunnel. The extreme driving performance is kept safely in check at all times with special solutions for tires, brakes and suspension. These solutions include BRABUS Monoblock alloy wheels with diameters ranging from 19 to 21 inches.

Press Release:

BRABUS 700 Biturbo Based on the Mercedes SLS AMG
700 hp / 514 kW, 850 Nm and 340 km/h Top Speed

BRABUS 700 Biturbo: Powered by the new BRABUS twin-turbo engine with 700 hp (690 bhp) / 514 kW and a peak torque of 850 Nm (626 lb-ft) and clad in the thrilling WIDESTAR wide-body version the Mercedes SLS AMG from BRABUS ascends to a new level in the league of super sports cars. The gullwing, further refined by an exclusive interior, reaches a top speed of 340 km/h (213 mph) and celebrates its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show 2011.

A high-tech turbocharger system for the high-tech engine of the SLS: The BRABUS engine engineers have designed a state-of-the-art twin turbo system for the fast-revving eight-cylinder four-valve engine of the SLS.

The high-performance exhaust manifolds are optimized for exhaust-gas flow and were custom-developed for this sports car. They drive the two turbochargers. The chargers themselves are another BRABUS custom development. For faster response and better efficiency both chargers feature an air diverter valve.

V-engines are normally fitted with two right-turning chargers, which entails drawbacks for the response characteristics. To eliminate these drawbacks the BRABUS engineers have developed the B63 bi-turbo system with a left-turning charger for the left side of the engine. That allows the turbine and its inlet to be designed for perfect gas flow and gas dynamics. The result is an outstanding engine with an exemplary power curve.

The BRABUS engine conversion also includes a generously dimensioned intercooling system with two water-to-air heat exchangers. The dual-flow intake manifold gets its combustion air through a package-optimized air filter housing and high-performance air filters.

The company engine shop also modifies the inner workings of the engine that like all BRABUS engines is lubricated exclusively with fully-synthetic ARAL high-performance motor oil. Specially manufactured BRABUS forged pistons reduce the compression ratio to 9.0:1.

The newly programmed engine management system with special mapping for ignition and injection orchestrates the perfect interaction of the BRABUS high-performance components. The system also features an integrated electronic boost pressure control. The result is an engine that delivers its extreme power smoothly while meeting the strict emission limits set by EURO V standards.

The exhaust side of the V8-engine is upgraded with free-flow high-performance catalysts and the BRABUS high-performance exhaust system that features four slanted tailpipes with diameters of 84 millimeters (3.2 in.). The BRABUS exhaust is made from ultra-light titanium and weighs 12 kilograms (26 lbs.) less than the production exhaust. A pneumatic flap system, controlled from the cockpit, adds a “coming home” sound setting that is quieter than the production exhaust. The alternatively selectable sport setting gives the 6.3-liter eight-cylinder engine an even throatier note than the stock exhaust.

Powered by this engine the BRABUS 700 Biturbo is among the most powerful super sports cars in the world. As the name indicates, the engine produces a rated power output of 700 hp (690 bhp) / 514 kW at 6,600 rpm. The peak torque of 850 Nm (626 lb-ft) is already available at a low 4,300 rpm.

In combination with the SPEEDSHIFT DCT seven-speed sport transmission the resulting performance is breathtaking: The two-seater car sprints from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.7 seconds and reaches 200 km/h (124 mph) in 10.2 seconds. Top speed is 340 km/h (213 mph).

To give the SLS also a sportier appearance the BRABUS WIDESTAR wide-body version was developed in the wind tunnel. Like in Formula 1 racing all aerodynamic-enhancement components are manufactured from lightweight yet high-strength carbon-fiber compounds. The body components can be painted in body or contrasting color or finished with a clear coat for a purebred racing look.

The BRABUS WIDESTAR flares on the rear axle add 20 millimeters (0.8 in.) to the width of the gullwing. They also facilitate the installation of ultra-light forged wheels, which widen the track and thus further improve driving dynamics. To put even more emphasis on the wedge shape of the coupe the BRABUS Monoblock F “PLATINUM EDITION” wheels are mounted in a staggered combination of size 9.5Jx20 wheels in front and size 11Jx21 on the rear axle. Despite the fact that the wheels are larger than their production counterparts they weigh up to 12 percent less. The wheels are either ceramics-polished or come with a brushed-design surface. They can also be painted any desired color. The high-performance tires in sizes 275/30 ZR 20 and 295/25 ZR 21 are supplied by BRABUS technology partners Pirelli and YOKOHAMA.

At the high speeds attained by the BRABUS 700 Biturbo aerodynamic stability is absolutely essential. The BRABUS front spoiler reduces lift on the front axle at high speed. Combined with the two BRABUS covers for the upper air inlets in the apron it lends the SLS an even more striking face.

For optimal aerodynamic balance BRABUS upgrades the rear with a spoiler lip on the trunk lid and a diffuser. Additionally the rear apron is fitted with side air outlets.

The sides of the gullwing are upgraded by the BRABUS gills for the front fenders. At night their integrated, blue-illuminated BRABUS lettering, activated by the keyless fob or by pulling on a door handle, stands out immediately.

Sporty yet elegant side skirts create a perfect aerodynamic transition between front and rear fenders. The cladding features integrated entrance lights for safe entering and exiting of the vehicle in the dark.

The BRABUS suspension was developed in cooperation with technology partner BILSTEIN. It offers advantages both visual and driving dynamics benefits. Those include a ride-height lowering by up to 30 millimeters (1.2 in.). The integrated ‘Ride Control’ function offers the driver a choice between more comfortable or sportier damper settings compared to the production car, all at the push of a button in the cockpit.

BRABUS sport stabilizers on front and rear axle affect even more agile turn-in ability and further reduced body roll.

The BRABUS Ride Control smooth-ride suspension is also available with the optional BRABUS Front Lift system. BRABUS Front Lift can raise the front axle by 50 mm (2.0 in.) and increases the approach angle.

Custom-tailored interiors have been a special BRABUS domain for more than three decades. The company upholstery shop crafts individual, masterful exclusive interiors in any desired leather or Alcantara color for the SLS as well.

These interiors are complemented by an ergonomically shaped sport steering wheel, a speedometer with 400-km/h (250-mph) dial and matte or shiny carbon-fiber elements in any desired color. Matte anodized aluminum pedals and foot rest add further distinctly sporty highlights.

Earlier this year, German tuner Brabus unveiled its modification package for the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. Making its debut at the 2010 Essen Motor Show is yet another Brabus modified Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG known as the Brabus Widestar Wide Version.

Shown here in red, the model gets a carbon fiber body kit consisting of a front spoiler, rear spoiler, rear diffuser, wide body paneling for the fenders and side outlets. The Brabus Widestar SLS AMG rides on Brabus Monoblock F PLATINUM EDITION 20-inch wheels at the front and 21-inch wheels at the back. Both sets are wrapped in Pirelli or Yokohama tires.

Enhancing performance is a new electronically adjustable suspension kit from Bilstein featuring Ride Control that lowers the SLS AMG by 30 mm. The tuner also added a titanium performance exhaust system, which increases output by 10-hp.

Any significant power upgrades? Not here. However Brabus has fitted the Widestar SLS AMG with a 250-mph speedometer that it says “hints at the car’s future performance with BRABUS engine tuning.”

Press Release:

Custom-Tailored Designer Suit: The BRABUS WIDESTAR Wide Version for the Mercedes SLS

Lending an exclusive automobile an even more dominant presence is the domain of BRABUS. The new BRABUS WIDESTAR wide version represents a custom-tailored designer suit for the Mercedes SLS AMG. In addition to the extravagant high-tech carbon-fiber body program for the gullwing the tuner also offers ultralight forged wheels, an electronically adjustable Ride Control smooth-ride suspension, a titanium high-performance exhaust system with electronically controlled sound management and custom BRABUS interiors.

To give the SLS an even more muscular appearance the BRABUS designers have developed custom-tailored BRABUS WIDESTAR components for the rear axle. Like all other body components they are made from extremely light yet very strong carbon fibers identical to the ones used in Formula 1 racing. The add-on parts for the rear fenders and the rear fascia create an even more spectacular look and make room for special wheels that widen the rear track by 20 millimeters for even further improved driving dynamics.

The suspension engineers developed custom-tailored versions of the ultralight BRABUS Monoblock F PLATINUM EDITION forged wheels in sizes 9.5Jx20 in front and 11Jx21 on the rear axle for the wide version of the SLS. These wheels are available with a brushed-design or ceramics-polished surface and can also be painted in any desired color. The staggered wheels with 20- and 21-inch diameters on front and rear axles further emphasize the wedge-shaped look of the sports car.

Despite the wheels’ bigger size they deliver a weight reduction of up to 12 percent compared to the SLS production wheels. The reduced unsprung weight further results in even more agile handling. BRABUS technology partners Pirelli and YOKOHAMA supply the optimal high-performance tires in sizes 275/30 ZR 20 and 295/25 ZR 21.

The wide version is rounded out by aerodynamic-enhancement components developed in the wind tunnel. All BRABUS aerodynamic-enhancement components are made from carbon fibers and are available with a matte or glossy clear-coated finish for a true racing look. Optionally these components can be painted in body or contrasting color.

To further reduce lift on front and rear axle BRABUS equips the SLS with a front spoiler for the production front fascia, a rear spoiler and a rear diffuser. Together these components create an even better aerodynamic balance. Two BRABUS covers for the upper air dams of the bumper and side air outlets for the rear fascia are further visual details of the BRABUS WIDESTAR version.

The work of the BRABUS designers also gives the sides of the gullwing more profile and further improved aerodynamic efficiency. The rocker panels were sculpted to optimize the airflow between front and rear axle and to create a perfect transition to the WIDESTAR components on the rear axle. Integrated entrance lights ensure safe entering and exiting of the vehicle in the dark.

The BRABUS air outlets for the front fenders add more of sporty touches. At night they draw attention with their integrated blue-illuminated BRABUS logos that are activated via the keyless fob or by pulling on a door handle.

The ride-height lowering by up to 30 millimeters (1.2 inches) also plays an important role in the striking appearance of the BRABUS-modified SLS. The BRABUS suspension is height-adjustable and was developed in cooperation with technology partner BILSTEIN. At the push of a button its integrated Ride Control function also offers a smoother ride than the production car. From the cockpit the driver can at any time – even while driving – switch between damper settings that offer a more comfortable or a sportier ride than the production car.
For sporty-minded SLS owners BRABUS offers stiffer sway bars for front and rear axle that reduce body roll for even more precise handling.

The BRABUS high-performance exhaust system with four slanted exhaust tips with diameters of 84 millimeters (3.3 inches) is somewhat atypical for traditional tuning. Its sound management, controlled by the driver and activated by a pneumatic flap, includes a ‘coming home’ setting that is quieter than the production exhaust. In ‘sport’ mode the 6.3-liter eight-cylinder engine produces an even more powerful exhaust note than with the production exhaust. The BRABUS exhaust system is manufactured from extremely lightweight titanium and weighs 12 kilograms (26 lbs.) or 40 percent less than the production exhaust. Another welcome by-product of this exhaust is an increase in power output by 10 hp / 7.4 kW.

BRABUS offers a multitude of exclusive custom interior options for the two-seater car as well. Carbon-fiber inlays in any desired color and matte anodized aluminum pedals and foot rest add sporty highlights.

The ergonomically shaped sport steering wheel is made from a combination of leather and Alcantara and provides especially good grip for further improved road feedback. The speedometer with 400-km/h scale (250 mph) already hints at the car’s future performance with BRABUS engine tuning.

The BRABUS upholstery shop offers a sheer endless multitude of colors and designs for the masterfully crafted SLS interiors made from the finest leathers and Alcantara. These interiors can be custom-tailored to suit each SLS owner’s personal taste down to the last detail.

Even if you own the world’s fastest sedan, there is really no place where you can top out the speed on your car – however, you do get infinite bragging rights to owning one. To cater to that market, Brabus has unveiled its latest creation known as the SV12 R Biturbo 800.

The Brabus SV12 R Biturbo 800 upgrades the Mercedes-Benz S600 5.5L displacement to a 6.3L V12 unit and adds a Brabus Biturbo system with two special high-performance manifolds with integrated turbine housings and high-performance turbochargers. All that allows the sedan to make a total of 788-hp with a maximum torque of 1,047 lb-ft. That allows 0-62 mph to come in just 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 217 mph – giving the SV12 R Biturbo 800 the title of being the world’s fastest luxury sedan.

Of course if speed is not your concern and you’re more worried about luxury, the Brabus SV12 R Biturbo 800 comes with the tuner’s iBusiness setup, which includes integrated Apple components inside the vehicle.

Awesome? Of course it is.

Press Release:

BRABUS SV12 R Biturbo 800
The World’s Most Powerful and Fastest Luxury Sedan

BRABUS SV12 R Biturbo 800: 800 hp (788 bhp) / 588 kW and a peak torque of 1,420 Nm (1,047 lb-ft) transform the Mercedes S 600 in latest BRABUS specification into the world’s most powerful luxury sedan. But that’s not all: With an electronically limited top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph) the exclusive four-seater also wins the ‘Blue Ribbon’ as the world’s fastest luxury liner. BRABUS (Brabus-Allee, D-46240 Bottrop, phone + 49 / (0) 2041 / 777-0, fax + 49 / (0) 2041 / 777 111, Internet www.brabus.com) rounds out the new high-performance standard with a sporty yet elegant designer suit, custom-tailored wheels with diameters of up to 21 inches, a high-performance brake system and customer-specific interior upgrades including a state-of-the-art “iBusiness” multimedia system with Apple components.

Twelve-cylinder high-capacity engines in the S-Class look back on almost two decades of tradition at BRABUS. Powered by the SV12 R Biturbo 800 engine originally developed for the BRABUS E V12 “one of ten” the automotive luxury class now attains a new level of performance.

Displacement of the V12 engine that normally powers the latest Mercedes 600 models is increased from 5.5 to 6.3 liters (336 to 385 cu. in.) The displacement increase is the product of a special crankshaft with longer stroke, precision-balanced piston rods, larger-diameter pistons and corresponding larger cylinder bore. The inner workings of the BRABUS engine are modified further by high-performance camshafts and flow-optimized cylinder heads.

The new air intake was custom-developed to fit in the available space under the hood of the S-Class. The combustion air is routed through a special carbon-fiber system. Also newly developed was the BRABUS Biturbo system with two special high-performance manifolds with integrated turbine housings and high-performance turbochargers. The system also includes four water-to-air intercoolers. The BRABUS stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system with sport catalysts and four exhaust tips with BRABUS-characteristic design optimizes power yield and gives the engine a more dominant exhaust note.

Newly calibrated engine electronics with precision-programmed mapping for injection and ignition ensure exemplary power yield and compliance with strict EURO V emission limits. The high-tech lubricants for the entire powertrain are supplied by technology partner ARAL.

The SV12 R Biturbo 800 engine produces 800 hp (788 bhp) / 588 kW at 5,500 rpm and an even more impressive peak torque of 1,420 Nm (1,047 lb-ft), available from a low 2,100 rpm. For technical reasons peak torque is limited electronically to 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft).

Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a reinforced five-speed automatic transmission. A BRABUS high-performance limited-slip differential with a locking rate of 40 percent is available as an option.

The extraordinary performance figures elevate the BRABUS SV12 R Biturbo 800 to the exalted position of the world’s most powerful and fastest luxury sedan. Acceleration times from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) of 3.9 seconds and of just 10.3 seconds to 200 km/h (124 mph) are as unmatched in this vehicle category as is the electronically limited top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph).

To ensure that this level of performance can be enjoyed safely at all times BRABUS also significantly upgrades suspension, brakes and aerodynamics.

These upgrades naturally also include tires capable of handling the speeds this car is capable of. The SV12 R Biturbo 800 can be equipped with BRABUS Monoblock wheels with diameters ranging from 19 to 21 inches. The largest version features wheels in size 9Jx21 on the front axle and in size 10.5Jx21 in the rear. These wheels are available in four distinct designs: Three-piece forged and high-gloss polished BRABUS Monoblock VI wheels with six double spokes, multi-spoke Monoblock E wheels, Monoblock S wheels with double-spoke design and especially exclusive Monoblock F PLATINUM EDITION forged wheels with cross-spoke design. All wheels are mounted with Pirelli or YOKOHAMA tires in sizes 265/30 ZR 21 in front and 295/30 ZR 21 on the rear axle.

To further improve the already excellent driving dynamics of the high-performance luxury sedan BRABUS developed an electronics module for the Active Body Control suspension that lowers the ride height by some 15 millimeters (0.6 inches).

Maximum deceleration is even more important than exceptional acceleration and thus the BRABUS high-performance brake system is part of the high-tech package of the SV12 R Biturbo 800. The brake features 12-piston aluminum fixed calipers and 380 x 36-mm (15.0 x 1.42 inches) vented and cross-drilled discs in front, and 355 x 28-mm (14.0 x 1.1 inches) discs and six-piston aluminum fixed calipers on the rear axle.

BRABUS ensures extremely high directional stability with a sporty yet elegant designer suit developed in the wind tunnel. The BRABUS front fascia lends the S-Class an even more striking face while its sophisticated shape reduces lift on the front axle. The large central air inlet optimizes cooling of engine and front brakes. Integrated auxiliary headlamps and LED daytime running lights further improve active safety. The BRABUS front spoiler lip is made from clear-coated carbon fiber and attaches to the underside of the BRABUS front fascia. It further optimizes the car’s aerodynamic properties.

For an even more extravagant appearance of the sedan BRABUS offers custom-tailored aluminum front fenders that replace their production counterparts. The exclusive character of these fenders is embodied by an integrated air vent made from clear-coated carbon fiber and a horizontal brace that spans the vent with embossed BRABUS signet and integrated LED lights. The latter are activated just like the ones in the BRABUS side sills via the keyless remote or by pulling on a door handle.

For optimizing the airflow around the sides of the vehicle the designers sculpted BRABUS sill skirts that feature integrated entrance lights for added utility. They are activated by the keyless remote or by pulling on a door handle as are the blue-illuminated BRABUS logos integrated into the scuff plates on both sides of the vehicle.

The BRABUS aerodynamic-enhancement concept is rounded out by the BRABUS rear spoiler lip, also available in a clear-coated carbon-fiber version, and the new rear fascia with centrally located reflector and custom cutouts for the BRABUS quad sport exhaust system. The underside of the rear fascia also features integrated LED lights which illuminate the ground behind the vehicle. They help avoid any unfortunate missteps into puddles or potholes lurking in the dark.

BRABUS combines this high-performance technical feast with exclusive interior options that suit each customer’s personal taste down to the last detail. These options include fully leather interiors in any color imaginable, Alcantara supplements and exclusive wood trim sets which can be ordered in any desired color thanks to an innovative staining technology.

A particular BRABUS specialty is the creation of state-of-the-art multimedia equipment including the innovative BRABUS “iBusiness” concept, where the BRABUS specialists for the first time have integrated Apple components into the vehicle electronics of the Mercedes S-Class.

Hyundai has come a very long way in terms of it”s automobiles. The extremely successful European i20 is a great example of that. But if the standard i20 wasn”t enough for you, a new sports kit developed in conjunction with Brabus is up for grabs.

Hyundai”s European Research and Development Center in Russelsheim, Germany and German high-performance aftermarket tuning company Car Research and Development (CRD) has introduced the i20 Sport Edition, which already adds to the athletic demeanor of the i20. So it”s kind of like the FIAT 500 and the Abarth Edition.

The kit revises the interior quite a bit with better, more luxurious and high-quality materials. This includes orange leather Recaro seats”¦in a Hyundai”¦a new gearshift, leather-covered door panels, and a 7-inch touch screen navigation system.

The exterior involves a body-colored front fascia, added wheelarch flares, a glossy mesh radiator grille, black bezel headlights, daytime running lights, and 17-inch Brabus alloys. Additionally, the B-pillar is shadowlined, the windows are lightly tinted and the rear lights are smoked.

Press Release:

Sports kit developed with Brabus brings added style to the i20

“‹
One of the most successful models in Hyundai”s European line-up, the i20 returns to Paris this year, having made its global debut at the 2008 edition of the show. A facelift earlier in the year kept the model fresh, and now the i20 has an even more dynamic profile.

Enhancing the energetic character of the i20, Hyundai”s European R&D Center in Rüsselsheim, Germany, has developed the i20 Sport Edition, in cooperation with German high-performance aftermarket tuning company, Car Research and Development (CRD).

Bringing further excitement to the Hyundai range, the bespoke kit adds a wide assortment of styling enhancements to the i20 supermini”s interior and exterior, bringing a sporty and sophisticated image to the vehicle and adding a luxurious touch by applying high-quality materials to the interior.

Accentuating the i20″s already dynamic image, the Sport Edition adds body-coloured front skirt and wheelarch flares to the exterior, while a glossy radiator grille mesh insert, black bezel headlights and daytime running lights are also introduced. The car”s sporty appearance is completed with the inclusion of a glossy B-pillar, smoked windows, dark red tinted rear lights and 17-inch Brabus alloy wheels with Yokohama tyres.

Inside, a luxurious dimension is added to the sporty theme. Orange leather Recaro seats, a black leather gearshift cover with orange-colored seams, a chrome gear shift knob, a leather-wrapped center console, leather-covered door panels, and a 7-inch touch screen navigation all bring added verve to the driving experience.

The i20 Sport Edition will go into limited production during the first half of 2011, when Hyundai will announce details of the model”s engine and transmission specifications. The car will be available in either three- or five”“door guise, manufactured at Hyundai”s Indian and Turkish plants, respectively.

Press Release:

The “iBusiness”

The Luxury Sedan with 750 hp, 340 km/h and Apple Multimedia

BRABUS high performance meets high-tech multimedia: The “iBusiness” represents the world debut of an absolutely unique luxury sedan. The four-seater based on the Mercedes S 600 reaches a top speed of 340 km/h (211 mph). It is powered by a BRABUS SV12 R Biturbo 750 12-cylinder engine with a rated power output of 750 hp (740 bhp) / 552 kW and a peak torque of 1,350 Nm (995 lb-ft). The designers from BRABUS (Brabus-Allee, D-46240 Bottrop, phone + 49 / (0) 2041 / 777-0, fax + 49 / (0) 2041 / 777 111, Internet www.brabus.com) combine this engine with an innovative multimedia system that features the latest Apple components. Two iPads in the rear compartment not only play movies, music and Internet content, they also control all functions of the S-Class COMAND system.

The BRABUS “iBusiness” stands for more than just peak performance. It stands foremost for innovative multimedia technology for which the BRABUS electronics specialists integrate state-of-the-art Apple components into the vehicle electronics of a Mercedes for the very first time. The BRABUS upholstery shop creates the perfect luxurious surroundings. The elegant fully leather interior is masterfully crafted from a two-tone combination of high-quality BRABUS leather that is especially soft, breathable and highly durable.

At the heart of the “iBusiness” is state-of-the-art entertainment and communication technology on wheels. The centerpiece of the system is an ultra-small Mac minicomputer safely housed under the rear shelf in an electrically deployed drawer whose design mirrors the design of the computer itself.

A 15.2-inch TFT display with 16:9 aspect ratio is integrated into the headliner covered with the finest Alcantara and contrasted with leather. Together with the standard screens in the back of the front headrests it serves as a display for the multimedia system. USB 2.0 ports integrated into the rear compartment allow connecting various peripherals to the Mac such as a webcam for video conferencing or a digital camera. The “iBusiness” is connected to the Internet via UMTS and HSDPA.

The entire BRABUS multimedia system is controlled from the passenger seat or the rear compartment by two iPads that also control the car’s standard COMAND system with all functions such as radio, navigation system and telephone.

While on the move the two tablet computers and the Bluetooth keyboard can be safely secured in precisely fitting recesses in the luxurious BRABUS rear tables. The table tops are covered with the same exclusive leather as the entire interior and are bordered by high-gloss aluminum frames. The tables are electrically deployed from special BRABUS seatback consoles and are infinitely adjustable to any angle. They offer ample space for perusing documents, the Apple mouse and keyboard.

When the iPads are not in use or when the “iBusiness” is parked they can be stored securely and hidden from sight in custom-tailored compartments in the BRABUS center console. A special BRABUS app will be available shortly for iPad and iPhone, the latter of which is also part of the standard equipment of the luxury sedan.

The music comes from a 64GB Apple iPod touch that can store more than 14,000 songs. The sound is reproduced either by the sound system of the S-Class or by Sennheiser Noise Gard headphones, which filter out any unwanted ambient noise for unparalleled listening pleasure.

Power-operated curtains provide privacy for the rear passengers and together with an innovative color-changing interior lighting system create a serene atmosphere. The BRABUS fully leather interior creates an exclusive ambiance further augmented by the new BRABUS Yachting wood trim package.

The BRABUS “iBusiness” is also the world’s most powerful luxury sedan and the fastest office on wheels. This unique automobile is powered by a BRABUS SV12 R Biturbo 750 engine, a prime example for the proven fact that there is no substitute for displacement except more displacement. A special crankshaft with longer stroke, forged pistons with larger diameter and increased cylinder bore bump displacement from standard 5.5 to 6.3 liters (336 to 385 cu. in.). In addition the inlet and outlet ports of both cylinder heads are optimized for improved mixture flow. Four special camshafts also contribute to that same effect.

The BRABUS engine specialists also fit the engine with larger turbochargers, a more efficient intercooling system and a stainless-steel high-performance quad exhaust system with free-flow metal catalysts. Newly programmed engine electronics coordinate the perfect interaction of all new components and ensures not only maximum power yield but also exemplary low emissions that meet the latest emission limits.

The rated power output of 750 hp (740 bhp) / 552 kW at 5,500 rpm of the BRABUS SV12 R Biturbo 750 engine is as superlative as its peak torque of 1,350 Nm (995 lb-ft) at 2,100 rpm. In the car torque is limited electronically to 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft).

These extraordinary power specs make the “iBusiness” with BRABUS SV12 R Biturbo 750 engine the most powerful and the fastest luxury sedan in the world. 0 ““ 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.0 seconds and to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 11.9 seconds are just as impressive as the electronically limited top speed of 340 km/h (211 mph).

Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a modified five-speed automatic transmission. The optionally available BRABUS limited-slip differential optimizes traction. All BRABUS powertrain components are operated with ARAL high-performance lubricants.

BRABUS also offers performance increases for the S 600 and S 65 models. The list of options ranges from the T12 performance kit for a rated power output of 580 hp (572 bhp) / 419 kW to the T 65 S performance kit which boosts power output of the S 65 model to 715 hp (705 bhp) / 526 kW.

On the outside the BRABUS “iBusiness” is clad in a sporty yet elegant designer suit. The BRABUS designers went into the wind tunnel to develop a striking front fascia whose sophisticated shape reduces lift on the front axle. The large center air inlet further optimizes cooling of the engine and the front brakes. Integrated auxiliary headlights and LED daytime running lights increase the safety factor.

Custom-tailored BRABUS aluminum sport fenders that replace their production counterparts give the S-Class sedan an even more extravagant look.

For optimizing the airflow around the sides of the vehicle the designers shaped BRABUS sill skirts that feature integrated entrance lights for added utility.

They help avoid any unfortunate missteps into puddles of potholes lurking in the dark.
.
The enormous performance of the “iBusiness” with BRABUS SV12 R Biturbo 750 engine is kept safely under control with custom-tailored solutions for tires, brakes and suspension. They include BRABUS Monoblock light-alloy wheels with diameters ranging from 19 to 21 inches.

The largest version features size 9Jx21 wheels on the front axle and size 10.5Jx21 in back. Customers can choose from four different designs Three-piece forged and high-gloss polished BRABUS Monoblock VI wheels with six double spokes, Monoblock E multi-spoke wheels, the Monoblock S double-spoke design and the especially exclusive Monoblock F PLATINUM EDITION forged wheels with cross-spoke design. All versions are fitted with Pirelli or YOKOHAMA tires in size 265/30 ZR 21 in front and in size 295/30 ZR 21 on the rear axle.

For all gasoline models up to the S 500 (US: S550) BRABUS also certified Monoblock VI, E, G, Q and S 10Jx22 in size 10Jx22 with high-performance tires in size 275/25 ZR 22 in front combined with size 295/25 ZR 22 tires on the rear axle. Thanks to a tire design specifically calibrated to luxury sedans and high-performance coupes the new BRABUS tire/wheel combination offers sporty and agile handling combined with excellent ride comfort.

The large wheels also create the necessary space for installing the BRABUS high-performance brake system with 12-piston aluminum fixed calipers and 380 x 36-mm (15.0 x 1.42 inches) vented and cross-drilled discs in front, and 355 x 28-mm (14.0 x 1.1 inches) discs and six-piston aluminum fixed calipers on the rear axle.

The BRABUS “iBusiness” is built to order and can be combined with any engine variant from the S 350 to the S 65. Alternatively any existing current S-Class model can be equipped with the innovative multimedia system and all other BRABUS options.

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is already one of the sexiest supercars we’ve ever laid eyes on. However, if you’re a tuner by the name of Brabus, than you can definitely find a way to get a little more out of the new Gullwing.

German tuner Brabus has announced a new tuning program for the SLS AMG that decreases the weight and improves handling on the vehicle. All the aerodynamic-enhancing carbon fiber components were build in a wind tunnel to optimize flow and performance. Inside, Brabus is offering custom made interiors in different types of leather and Alcantara and in any desired color and design.

The Brabus Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG rides on a new set of wheels custom-developed for the model. They measure 20-inches at the front and 21-inches at the rear. The ultra-light Brabus Monoblock F PLATINUM EDITION cross-spoke wheels are up to 12 percent lighter than the stock wheels of the SLS AMG.

Brabus says that engine tuning for the 6.3L V8 that powers the SLS AMG is still in the final stages of development but in the mean time there is already a lightweight Brabus titanium sport exhaust system with four slanted exhaust tips. Until then, head over after the jump to drool over some high-res photos.

Press Release:

Carbon fiber, handling and ultra lightweight! That’s the guiding principle of Brabus for refining the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. The exclusive sport program comprises aerodynamic-enhancement components made from carbon fiber, ultra-lightweight forged wheels, an electronically adjustable smooth-ride suspension (Ride Control) suspension, a titanium exhaust system with bypass gate, and Brabus leather.

Extremely light yet enormously strong carbon fiber identical to the one used in Formula 1 racing was chosen as the material for the Brabus aerodynamic-enhancement components. The components were developed in the wind tunnel. They give the gullwing car an even more striking appearance while optimizing its aerodynamic properties. All components are available either made from clear-coated carbon fiber for a true racing flair or can be painted to match or contrast with the car’s exterior color.

The front fascia of the coupe receives a visual upgrade with the Brabus front spoiler. But that’s not all: The spoiler further reduces lift on the front axle at high speeds which results in even better directional stability. The two Brabus covers for the upper air inlets in the bumper lend the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG an even more striking face while optimizing the cooling air supply.

Brabus also lends the sides of the SLS a sharper profile. The new air outlets for the front fenders feature a modern design with integrated blue-illuminated Brabus lettering. The illumination is activated via the keyless-entry remote or by pulling on a door handle.

Brabus also adds some more visual pizzazz to the rear appearance of the Mercedes SLS AMG with the Brabus rear spoiler and the Brabus rear fascia element that features custom-tailored cutouts for the four exhaust tips of the Brabus sport exhaust system.

Forged wheels that were custom-developed for the SLS are also elementary for the electrifying Brabus look. By choosing a staggered tire/wheel combination with diameters of 20 inches in front and 21 inches on the rear axle Brabus further emphasizes the sporty character of the two-door car. The ultra-light Brabus Monoblock F PLATINUM EDITION cross-spoke wheels are up to twelve percent lighter than the stock wheels of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and are mounted in size 9.5Jx20 in front and in size 11Jx21 on the rear axle. The extremely wide high-performance tires in sizes 275/30 ZR 20 and 295/25 ZR 21 are supplied by Brabus technology partners Pirelli and YOKOHAMA.

Another custom development is the height-adjustable Brabus smooth-ride suspension (Ride Control). It can lower the ride height of the sports car by up to 40 millimeters (1.6 inches). At the push of a button the driver can choose between damper settings that offer a more comfortable or sportier ride compared to the production suspension. To complement this suspension Brabus will soon offer the Brabus Front Lift system. It raises the front of the car by some 50 millimeters (2 inches) at the push of a button to safely navigate steep parking ramps or other obstacles.

While engine tuning for the 6.3-liter V8 is still in the final development phase there already is an extremely lightweight Brabus titanium sport exhaust system with four slanted exhaust tips. The tips have a diameter of 84 millimeters (3.3 inches). This exhaust system weighs 12 kilograms (26 lbs.) or 40 percent less than the production exhaust and adds an extra ten horsepower to the engine’s output. A special feature of this exhaust system is a pneumatically controlled bypass gate that is activated from the cockpit. The normal mode represents a “coming home”sound level that is quieter than the production exhaust. It appeals especially to the neighbors when the SLS returns home late at night. With open bypass gate the eight-cylinder engine sounds even sportier than with the stock exhaust system.

For the cockpit of the two-seater the Brabus interior designers have developed exclusive accessories and masterfully crafted custom interiors. The speedometer with 400-km/h scale (250 mph) already hints at the car’s future performance with Brabus engine tuning. An ergonomically shaped sport steering wheel is also part of the Brabus customization program as are stainless-steel scuff plates with illuminated Brabus logo and matteanodized pedals.

The Brabus upholstery shop creates fully custom interiors for the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG from top-quality materials. Customers can choose from different types of leather and Alcantara in any desired color and design to suit their individual tastes.

Brabus can also fulfill individual requests for the trim on dashboard, center console and door panels. Brabus manufactures carbon-fiber and wood trim sets in any color and with any desired surface finish.

About two weeks ago, we saw something called the Brabus VANISH a one-off Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series that makes 788-hp and goes from 0-62 mph in 3.6 seconds. It was known as the fastest, most exclusive SL 65 AMG Black Series on planet Earth… until now.

Meet the new Brabus Stealth 65. The 6.0L AMG V12 biturbo engine from the Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series has been upgraded to produce a whopping 809-hp with a maximum torque of 1,047 lb-ft. The standard SL 65 AMG Black Series makes 661-hp and a peak torque of 738 lb-ft.

The Brabus Stealth 65 uses the T65 RS tuning kit from the VANISH, but engineers at the tuning firm added a little something extra to give that extra 21-hp.

Of course, the Stealth 65 is owned by some very rich guy in Dubai with a very expensive license plate.
