Bentley currently has four models in its lineup including the Mulsanne, Brooklands, Azure T and the Continental lineup (which consists of four different versions including the Continental GT, Continental GTC, Continental Flying Spur and the Continental Supersports). The company’s bosses are now trying to beef up the lineup with some new additions. The new models will be underpinned by soon-to-be sister brand Porsche’s architecture.

First in line will be a four-door coupe version of the Continental GT that would compete with the likes of the Aston Martin Rapide, Mercedes-Benz CLS. It will also take on other models by the Volkswagen Group including the Audi A7 as well as the Porsche Panamera.

Bentley is also considering a crossover based on the Porsche Cayenne. Insider info suggests that Bentley may use the Cross Continental badge for the model.

Last in mind is a coupe that will fit below the Continental GT. It will be aimed at the Maserati GranTurismo and the Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG.

When can you expect these new models to arrive? Sometime in 2015.

“¢ Power comes from a 6¾ liter twin-turbocharged V8 that makes 500-hp with a peak torque of 738 lb-ft. Mated to a 6-speed ZF automatic transmission.

“¢ 0 to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds with a top speed of 179 mph.

“¢ There are a lot of other things that you can look younger and cooler in doing 0 to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds than a chauffeur driven car.

Bentley has unveiled the new Azure T, a stable mate to the Azure that it says has 11 percent more power and 14 percent more torque. We highly doubt that a Bentley driver is concerned with performance, so we figure Bentley should just concentrate on becoming more green and watching their CO2 emissions like they said they were going to do earlier this year.

Just earlier this year, Bentley had outlined its ‘green’ strategy at the Geneva Motor Show with its main goal being to reduce fleet-emissions by 15 percent by 2012. Well, with the release of its new 2009 Bentley Azure T, Bentley is not mentioning fuel-economy or emissions anywhere. However, it is mentioning an 11 percent increase in power and a 14 percent increase in torque over its Azure stable mate.

The 2009 Bentley Azure T offers an open-top, elegant and powerful experience to Bentley customers. Power comes from an all-aluminium 6¾ liter twin-turbocharged V8 that makes 500-hp with a peak torque of 738 lb-ft. Mated to a 6-speed ZF automatic transmission, the Azure T goes from 0 to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds (0 to 62 mph in 5.5) with a top speed of 179 mph. The transmission also offers three driving models including Drive, Sport and Manual

For a more luxury appearance Bentley has added Le Mans front wing vents, dark tint matrix grille and 20-inch 5-spoke wheels. And of course your coolness level will go up with the signature Bentley retractable Flying ‘B’ mascot on the hood.

The 2009 Bentley Azure T will make its world debut at the 2008 LA Auto Show next week. Make sure you join us on Nov. 19th for live coverage from LA.
