2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG

According to latest reports and spy shots, Mercedes-Benz is putting the final touches on a Black Series version of the new 2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class, which goes on sale later this year. The new Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series will be the fourth Black Series model, joining the SLK, CLK and the SL.

While we have no idea on what the specs will be, the C63 AMG Black Series will most likely carry a more powerful 6.3L AMG V8 engine making way more than 520-hp. The engine currently produces 481-hp in the standard Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG with the optional AMG Development Package.

Look out for the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series to debut sometime in September – most likely at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.

Refresher: The 2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG continues to be powered by a 6.3L V8 engine making 451-hp, which can be increased to 481-hp with the optional AMG Development Package. Mated to a AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission from the SL63 AMG, the 2012 C63 AMG can go from 0-60 mph in just 4.4 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph. When mated to the AMG Development Package, the 0-60 mph acceleration time drops to 4.3 seconds and top speed is increased to 174 mph.

It’s not like the 457-hp Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG wasn’t powerful enough already, but Avus Performance felt it can offer those looking for a little more power something to look forward to.

The German tuner is offering a performance upgrade for the C63 AMG that give the 6.3L V8 engine the ability to produce 585-hp with a maximum torque of 545 lb-ft. Avus has also gotten rid of the C63 AMG’s speed-limiter, taking the top speed up to 199 mph. Other performance enhancing features include 8-piston brake calipers with 380mm diameter, a new set of springs and coilovers and a stainless steel exhaust system that is sure to deliver some aggressive tones.

Avus is also offering some visual upgrades including a new front grille, black finish mirror covers and 19-inch multispoke AMG wheels (a 20-inch option is also available).
