Not so impressed by the U.S. version of BBC’s Top Gear? Well, Adam Carolla may have a solution for you.

The comedian / automotive freak is ready to bring you a new show featuring awesome cars, epic driving adventures and the best of automotive culture.

Adam’s co-hosts include, Pulitzer Prize-winning automotive journalist Dan Neil, TheSmokingTire.com founder Matt Farah and former NBA Champion John Salley.

The show premieres Wednesday, July 13th at 10pm ET on SPEED.

“We are continuing the very aggressive development agenda we established for 2011 and beyond,” said SPEED President Hunter Nickell. “With a staggered summer launch, a show or two planned for the fall and a good idea for what we want in the first quarter of 2012, we are doing more to strengthen our prime time lineup than ever before.”

Adam Carolla, who was once designated to be a Top Gear US presenter will be premiering his own car show, called “The Car Show,” on July 13th at 10pm.

Carolla, along with Dan Neil, John Salley, and Matt Farah will be talking about anything and everything cars and is rumored to give Top Gear US some pretty solid competition.

“I get to live out my boyhood fantasies about racing cars, hanging out in cars, talking about cars, building cars, wrenching on cars … and someone pays me to do it,” Carolla explained in a press conference.

Carolla’s new show isn’t the only thing that SPEED channel has to offer in the future. Two new shows running by names of “Dumbest Stuff on Wheels” and “My Ride Rules” will be debuting in August.

The “Dumbest Stuff on Wheels” is supposed to be a an automotive spin-off of Joel McHael’s “The Soup” on E, probably with a little hint of Tosh.0 where as “My Ride Rules” will go along the lines of individuals competing to see who has the best ride, where the contestants will actually swap cars and test each others’ out.

This summer certainly should be an exciting one in terms of motoring programs, especially with Top Gear UK debuting Season 17 this Sunday.

Not feeling the new Top Gear America? Well, the folks over at Speed Channel and Adam Carolla may have an answer for you. According to a report by Variety, Adam Carolla, a comedian and well-known car enthusiast, will team up with Pulitzer Prize-winning Wall Street Journal auto writer Dan Neil, ex-NBA star John Salley and Matt Farah from The Smoking Tire website for a new auto show on Speed Channel.

The untitled show come from Mandt Bros. Prods and follow the debut of Top Gear America. Carolla was originally a part of NBC’s shot to make a U.S. version of U.K.’s Top Gear, but that version never made it to your TV sets. Carolla has no part in the History channel’s Top Gear starring Tanner Foust, Rutledge Wood and Adam Ferrara.

Carolla’s show is being described as a cross between Top Gear and Fox Sports old The Best Damn Sports Show Period.

While Jeremy Clarkson is showing no mercy or support for American automakers, his stateside counterpart Adam Carolla is showing the “yes we can” type of support for the Detroit Big 3 along with another NBC car buff, Jay Leno.

When PopularMechanics asked Top Gear USA host whether or not he supports the idea of bailing out the auto industry, he answered the question very politically. While Carolla didn’t say ‘yes’ or ‘no’, he went on to blame Detroit for making “subpar” products saying that there is no valid reason for why there should be a separation between Europe, Japan and the U.S. automobiles.

“I don’t understand it. We can build the greatest fighter planes on the planet. It’s not like technology is the problem,” Carolla told PopularMechanics.

Leno, on the other hand, took a rather straightforward approach.

“I think we should bail them out. To me it”s like class warfare. The white-collar guys get a bailout and the blue-collar guys don”t? That”s crazy. You know, I”d rather help a guy with a wrench in his hand than some guy sitting in front of a keyboard.”
