At the 2012 Chicago Auto Show next week, Nissan will be debuting the 2013 Nissan 370Z. As the name suggests the 370Z will continue on with its 332-hp 3.7 liter V6 engine, which is not a bad thing at all.

What you can expect is some subtle design changes to the front and back – but you shouldn’t expect a total redesign.

Power for the 2012 Nissan 370Z Coupe and 370Z Roadster models still comes from the wonderful 3.7 liter DOHC V6 making 332-hp. Both are available  with a choice of a 6-speed manual with the optional SynchroRev Match synchronized Downshift Rev Matching system or a 7-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode, paddle shifters and Downshift Rev Matching. An oil cooler has been added for the 2012 model year as standard.

The hardcore 2012 Nissan NISMO 370Z price starts at $40,830 and gives you a nice 350-hp upgrade along with racing-inspired exterior and interior. The NISMO 370Z also gets a specially tuned suspension and unique super-lightweight forged alloy wheels.

The California Air Resources Board maintains a very strict approach to its emissions control and has therefore set the standard throughout the country. Sillen is the first to meet those standards, as well.

This kit features a Vortech V-3 Centrifugal Supercharger unit, complete system with a vorteh V-.3 Centrifugal Super Charger Unit, and a cast aluminum intake manifold.

On the 370Z, the Stillen kit takes the 332-hp stock V6 and turns out over 500-hp from it.

Nissan has just announced that it will be releasing a special edition of the 370Z to commemorate their global success in GT racing and 40 years of the Z in the United Kingdom.

“The 370Z is an iconic sports car and the GT Edition underlines its appeal to enthusiasts everywhere,” said Pierre Loing, Vice President Product Planning, Nissan International SA. “The combination of outstanding performance and the dramatic looks of this very special 370Z more than lives up to the heritage of its illustrious forebear while its strong links to the race track shows its true pedigree.”

Called the Nissan 370Z GT Edition, the race-themed limited edition coupe is given three special body colors with unique GT stripes and anthracite-colored 19-inch RAYS forged alloys. The colors offered are Pearl White, Kuro Metallic Black, and Black rose. Additionally, the GT Edition receives a reworked suspension that helps improve ride comfort and high-speed handling and stability thanks to Nissan’s Technical Centre Europe or NTCE. Equipment-wise, the Nissan 370Z GT Edition receives a rear view camera with the Premium Connect sat-nav and a new tire-pressure monitoring system.

The 370Z GT Edition will be available through select dealers throughout the UK with deliveries beginning at the turn of June this year and bases at £35,000.

According to reports by European media, Nissan is working on a special limited-edition Nurburgring version of the Nissan 370Z to pay tribute to the race-prepped 370Z that raced during the 24-Hour Race. No power upgrades are reported for the Nurburgring edition, meaning the limited-edition 370Z continues to run on its 332-hp 3.7L V6.

So what’s all the Nurbugring-ness about? Nissan will throw on a set of 19-inch OZ Racing alloy wheels and you can expect some Nurburgring track logos on the seats and the floor-mats.

Nissan will build on 80 units of the yellow 370Z Nurburgring edition. Pricing starts at the U.S. dollar equivalent of $71,275. All 80 buyers will receive a bonus card worth $212 of public track days at the famous Nordschleife.

2010 will be an exciting “green” year for Nissan. The Japanese automaker plans on introducing its electric-vehicle at the end of next year along with a hybrid version of the Infiniti M. Nonetheless, Nissan has been very slow at the wheel on the “green highway” when compared to its domestic rivals, Toyota and Honda.

Besides the two programs mentioned above, we haven’t heard much on Nissan hybrid/electric-vehicle initiatives. Usually, it’s right about here we say “until-now” so – until now.

Japanese sources are saying that Nissan is planning on using the hybrid system from the Infiniti M hybrid in the 370Z sports car in 2011, giving us the first high-performance hybrid sports car on the market.

The 370Z hybrid is rumored to get a version of the VQ 3.7L V6 engine mated to an electric-motor that runs on lithium-ion batteries (being produced by a joint venture between Nissan and NEC). Sources say that the hybrid system will also feature a plug-in electric-vehicle mode for regular city driving.

Insiders say that Nissan is projecting an average fuel-economy of 35 mpg combined.

While many of you have probably picked up the 2009 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, Sports Illustrated is pushing its swimsuit ladies on its YouTube Channel as well.

The publication has just released a video of Sports Illustrated models Melissa Haro, Jessica Hart and Damaris Lewis getting the ride of their lives in Las Vegas in the brand new 332-hp 2009 Nissan 370Z.

We think the video would have been better if all three ladies went for a ride with swimsuit colleague Danica Patrick.

After a hard night of partying, we’re going to help you ease into 2009 with some commercials. Nissan has dropped three new ad sports for the 332-hp 2009 Nissan 370Z.

In one of the commercials, we get to see the use of the new SHIFT_the way you move” tagline. Pricing for the 2009 Nissan 370Z was revealed earlier this week. The new ‘Z’ will start at $29,930 and is now in showrooms ready to be taken out for a test drive.

Nissan has dropped the pricing details along with a revised marketing tagline for the 332-hp 2009 Nissan 370Z coupe. The new Z goes on sale today at Nissan dealers nationwide with an MSRP starting at $29,930 for the base model equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission and $31,230 with the new 7-speed automatic transmission. Pricing for the 2009 Nissan 370Z Touring model starts at $34,460 with the 6-speed and $35,760 with the 7-speed automatic.

Buyers can chose from two packages including the $3,000 Sport Package and the $1,850 Navigation Package. The Sport Package gives you 19-inch RAYS forged wheels and Bridgestone Potenza tires, aerodynamic front and rear spoiler, larger Nissan Sport Brakes, SynchroRev Match (6-speed manual transmission only) and Viscous Limited Slip Differential. The Navigation Package will get you hard drive-based Nissan Navigation System, 9.3GB Music Box Hard Drive and Interface System for your iPod. 

Oh and let’s not forget about the new revised marketing tagline: SHIFT_the way you move.  Nissan says the new tagline reflects alignment of the direction Nissan is taking to meet changing consumer needs and wants. Awesome.

Branew in Japan has revealed its body styling kit for the new 2009 Nissan 370Z. The new kit seems to be anything but simple or functional consisting of a new underbody lip kit in either carbon fiber or fiberglass reinforced plastic. The Branew body kit also consists of a new front, side and rear parts. The tuner will also add a giant rear spoiler made of lightweight carbon fiber. As for the shoes, from the images it seems like Branew will throw on 22-inch wheels.

Branew is currently working on engine upgrades including a new titanium and steel exhaust system, suspension upgrades, brake upgrades and ECU modifications.

The complete Branew package for the 2009 Nissan 370Z will make its debut at next week’s Tokyo Auto Salon in Japan.

Today we bring you more pictures of the Nissan 370Z NISMO S-Tune Package adding to the already leaked collection we saw earlier.

The S-Tune Package is made by Nissan’s in-house tuning department for the new 2009 Fairlady Z (that’s what the Nissan 370Z goes by in Japan). The kit includes a new aerodynamic body kit consisting of a new front lip spoiler, new nose piece, side skirts, a rear spoiler, rear fenders and Nissan NISMO floor mats. Performance wise Nissan added a NISMO S-Tune suspension kit, a NISMO stainless exhaust system, S-Tube break pads and 19-inch Nismo LMZ5 wheels.

The other day during Thanksgiving dinner a couple of us were arguing about the 0 to 60 time of the new 332-hp 2009 Nissan 370Z as reported by CARandDRIVER. The automotive enthusiast magazine said that the new Z goes from rest to 60 in 5 seconds which seemed a bit awkward to us since the new Z is smaller, lighter and more powerful this year.

Well, to our delight Motor Trend has just released their figures and they have reported a 0 to 60 mph time of 4.7 seconds. Motor Trend also reported a quarter mile run of 13.3 seconds at 105.7 mph. Pretty impressive for a car that starts at $29,930. For arguments sake the new $57,500 BMW M3 Coupe also does 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 second and the $56,610 Lexus IS-F reports a 0 to 60 mph time of 4.6 seconds.

Under the gentle dusting of wildfire ash, Nissan’s ad agency, TBWA/Chait/Day along with Edmund’s Insideline unveiled Nissan’s 370Z for the first time in North America. Legions of Z-car die-hards, a few GT-R guys and even a Nissan designer were out in full force.

We were on hand to snap some photos of the new 332-hp 370Z, chat with a Nissan interior designer and, of course, eat some free gorditas. The 370Z arrives on the scene with a new smaller version of the FM chassis, lighter, but more powerful. While not a huge departure on the outside, the new car is clearly smaller, but wears some big mean Potenza RE050′s, sports 26 additional ponies and a few new techno-goodies. We already told you about the world’s first synchronized downshift rev matching system for the 6-speed manual, but an ‘S-Mode’ button to the upper right of the shifter [complete with a little graphic of the double-H shifter gate], and an ‘Active Diff Switch’ in the spare tire hold leave us intrigued.

Though probably the biggest improvement in the new Z is the dynamite interior. More spacious and with more seat travel [to accommodate you lanky folks!]. We spoke to Hase, a Nissan interior designer and he told us about the major work they did to get the interior right. He was very upfront with us and said he knows the criticism the 350Z received for its interior and said his team set about on mission to bring the 370Z up to par with modern sports cars. We’d say they got it right. When asked about the similarities in design inside & out with the Maxima, he added that the interior design team on the Z was separate from that of the Max, but they both share common design themes that portend the new direction at Nissan.

The 2009 Nissan 370Z will probably be the most talked about world debut at the 2008 LA Auto Show next week. While we won’t get to reveal the official press release until Nov. 19th, the LA Auto Show website is running a new image and some technical details on the new 370Z.

The new 2009 370Z is built on a shorter wheelbase, uses lightweight body materials, has 26 more horsepower than its predecessor and is mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission and the worlds first synchronized downshift rev matching system for the 6-speed manual.

The 3.7L DOHC V6 engine will officially produce 332-hp. We’ll bring you more performance figures next week.

We’ve seen a leaked image of the 2009 Nissan 370Z with a NISMO S-Tune Package and you’ve probably seen a leaked JDM brochure on fan forums. Now, the folks at GTRBlog are breaking it down for us with some new information and some new images.

The 2009 Nissan 370Z will be available with two S-Tune Package straight from the dealerships. The first will be a simple Nissan S-Tune Aero Package that offers some aerodynamic upgrades. The package comes with an extension nose piece, new front lip spoilers, side skirts, a large rear spoiler, rear fender protectors and Nismo floor mats.

The Nissan S-Tune Performance Package will be the second package and will include a new Nismo stainless exhaust system, a Nismo S-Tune suspension, Nismo S-Tune brake pads, Nismo floor mats and 19-inch Nismo LMZ5 wheels.

Pricing will be confirmed at a later date.
