Well, he didn’t exactly give us a personal presentation to the 2010 Audi S5 Cabriolet – because that would be weird and out of character for the Governor of the State of California. Honestly, we can’t help but imagine how he would describe the S5 Cabriolet but we’ll leave that part alone.

Arnold Schwarzenegger was hanging out at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show and spent a considerable time hanging out at the Audi booth checking out the new TT RS and the S5 Cabriolet. We’re not sure if he was in town for business or just checking out the show; nonetheless, it’s always fun having the Terminator on hand.

Schwarzenegger along with others that are interested can order a 256-hp 2010 Audi A5 Cabriolet at the end of this year. Of course, we’re guessing the ex-Hollywood star and Governor of California would much rather go for the 333-hp 2010 Audi S5 Cabriolet.

We’re guessing the folks at the Tesla stand weren’t too happy to see Schwarzenegger spending too much time with Audi.

2009 Geneva Motor Show: 2010 Audi A5 Cabriolet:

The 2010 Audi A5 and S5 Cabriolet were scheduled to make their stateside dealer debut in September. However, according to Audi of America spokesman Christian Bokich, Audi has decided to push back the launch until late 2009.

“We are now being conservative in making sure we sell enough of the final A4 and S4 Cabriolet models in today’s auto market,” Bokich said in an e-mail to Inside Line on Monday.

The 2010 Audi A5 and S5 Cabriolet will replace the current A4 and S4 Cabriolet.

The 2010 Audi A5 Cabriolet will be available to the U.S. market with two engine options including a 2.0 TFSI 4-cylinder making 211-hp for the base model. It will be offered with FrontTrak front-wheel-drive and will be mated to a Multitronic CVT. Quattro will be optional on the base model with a Tiptronic 6 speed automatic transmission. Buyers can also opt for the 265-hp 3.2 FSI V6 which will come with quattro and the Tiptronic 6-speed.

Those looking for more power can go for the 2010 Audi S5 Cabriolet which will be powered by 3.0 TFSI Supercharged V6 making 333-hp.

Pricing info will be announced closer to launch.

Audi has just announced that it will add a new entry level 160-hp 1.8 TFSI model to its A5 Cabriolet lineup with prices starting at 37,300 Euros. Of course we won’t get that model in the U.S. (and we’re somewhat thankful we won’t).

In the U.S., the 2010 Audi A5 Cabriolet will come with a 3.2 FSI V6 that produces 265-hp. The 2010 Audi S5 Cabriolet will be supercharged producing 333-hp. It will be offered with a manual gearbox or 7-speed S tronic transmissions.

Either way, over the weekend Audi unveiled a bunch of new A5 and S5 Cabriolet images along with a new video which you can check out after the jump.

Well that was quick – we just saw leaked images of the soft-top 2010 Audi A5 and S5 Cabriolet 2 hours ago and Audi has now dropped the official press release along with high-res photos (it was actually embargoed for 6pm EST so we had to wait to post). Either way let’s get started.

The 2010 Audi A5 Cabriolet will be offered in the U.S. market with two engines options. The base level A5 Cabriolet will be powered by a 2.0 TFSI 4-cylinder engine making 211-hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. It will be offered with quattro all-wheel-drive or FrontTrak front-wheel-drive and will be mated to a Tiptronic 6 speed automatic transmission for the quattro model or Multitronic CVT for the FrontTrak model. Moving up a notch, the 3.2 FSI V6 will produce the same 265-hp as the coupe. It will come with quattro all-wheel-drive and a Tiptronic 6 speed automatic transmission.

While the Audi S5 coupe will keep its 4.2L V8 until the end of the 2010 model year, the 2010 S5 Cabriolet will launch with the new 333-hp 3.0 TFSI supercharged V6 seen in the 2010 Audi S4. It will be offered with a manual gearbox or 7-speed S tronic transmissions.

Other than that the 2010 Audi A5 and S5 Cabriolet’s offer rear 50/50 split folding seats, new head-level heating system with heated/cooled front seats, MMI operating logic standard with central display screen, Audi Drive Select, Audi’s Intelligent Key with keyless entry and starting, Bluetooth interface, a rearview camera, Audi Side Assist lane change assistant and a Bang & Olufsen 505W sound system.

Audi states in the press release that the 2010 A5/S5 Cabriolet will replace the A4/S4 Cabriolet models in the U.S. We’ll learn more about that later when the models launch in fall of 2009. The cars will make their debut at the 2009 Geneva Auto Show in March. Pricing details will be announced closer to launch.
