Please read the entire description carefully before contacting me with questions.January 1958 VW 23 window deluxe bus. This unit is a mostly original-paint, dry survivor which is NOT rusty nor is there any bondo whatsoever. Unfortunately, the roof was once removed and crudely reinstalled and is lined up in place as it should be. It was cut along the base of beltline and up over behind the cab along the front edge of the sunroof hole. The front sunroof lip will need to be replaced to repair it properly. It has very clean, solid, original-paint floors, solid belly pans and battery trays. After thoroughly scrubbing the cargo floor once, there is still some residual grease on the floor from the parts that were stored inside. There are two, or maybe three tiny pin-holes on the right side of the cab floor and NO thin spots or pin holes to speak of in the cargo floor. The left rocker is fine with two small pinholes that are easily fixable. It will need a right outer rocker since it has begun to deteriorate. There is light surface rust in various places throughout, however, there are no significant rust issues anywhere to be found. The bus was on a desert-ranch near Ruidoso, New Mexico during the late '60's and was used to haul hay to cows out on the range. It quit running in 1969 and was hauled to the junk yard where the roof was put back on and it sat full of motorcycle parts for over 40 years. The base of the beltline is rough where it was cut and crudely spot-welded together. It is not rusty in these areas and will be far easier to repair than a rusty beltline. What's more, is that the rear torsion and cab-partition are gone and need replacements as well.Included is a correct rear hatch, flat engine door, crank rear apron, headlight assemblies and a correct front bumper with brackets and trim. The front bumper trim has been notched for perhaps a Hurst bumper or bike rack, but I'm not certain. The trim is repairable. Two of the original Kron Prinz wheels are with it along with two more correct date-matched K.P. rims plus a spare. It also includes a mostly complete, free-turning, date-matched 36 horse engine (#2162249), a split case transaxle and a sunroof assembly, but no rails. There is no rear bumper assembly. It's deluxe trim set is complete and the original front emblem has never been removed. I will also include a correct clock, radio-delete, correct speedometer, horn-push, cab-seat cores and correct cab-door window frames. That's about it other than the mostly cracked glass, no rear seats, interior panels or door handles, and is missing plenty, however, it is a great start. The v.i.n.-stamp in the body (engine bay) is perfectly intact and legible, as well as the v.i.n.-tag.It has a heavy-duty dolly bolted on at the rear bumper-bracket holes in the frame with 6" metal casters and it does roll, steer and can be trailered.I have owned this bus for nearly two decades and have plans to restore it, but I'm currently making it available at the listed price for a time if someone wants to buy it. This is one of the last early, unrestored, virtually rust-free samba projects available. Clean Oregon title in-hand.Final price-reduction: $29k U.S.d.. Over 140 photos available.Important Note: Will sell to North America which includes Canada and Mexico, U.K., Europe, Australia and Japan. I will arrange for local pick-up. If necessary, I am able to arrange inexpensive over-the-road transport to the port of Oakland, California and assist in arranging overseas shipping from this port. This service is for overseas buyers only. Otherwise, a domestic buyer should establish his/her own transport and shipping arrangements. Serious inquiries please! Thank you for looking.
