This item will NOT fit the standard 4.6L Northstar V8 motors. It will ONLY fit the 4.4L Northstar V8 (LC3) that it was specially built for. The foundations of each motor are entirely different. The 4.4L LC3 has thicker cylinder walls (hence the 0.2L lower cylinder volume), larger main bearings, and forged connecting rods & crank to handle the compression. It also bolts to a 4L80E transmission beefed up to take that power, and runs a power management system between the two for which you'll need all of the STS-V wiring harnesses and its computer to run. Really, only the cams in the 4.6L are built to take the load of the 4.4L, and they have the wrong lift anyhow, so they cannot be used. The whole 4.6L motor would need to be gutted and tossed away, and if you're going to go through THAT much trouble on a build, you might as well get the correct used motor/harnesses/computer/trans from a salvage yard, and start from the beginning. However, if say for instance you DID go through all of the time and expense to perform the above, you'd still end up with a blown motor because the 4.6L cylinder walls are too thin to handle the compression of the 4.4L LC3. It is just not possible.
