This listing is for one DMC22 toothHeavy Duty top gear bushing and new top gear with 50% more load bearing area than stock and will not damage your jackshaft like needle bearings. After 5 years Thousands in use on some of the fastest high horsepower sleds and tens of thousands of miles, we are confident to offer this proven solution to Sidewinder / Thundercat owners who don\'t want to have there trip ruined or don\'twant to always carry around a spare gear or change the top gear every year and hope it lasts the whole year.
We are the originals and still offer the best engineered top gear solution.
Our bushing is made with an ultra strong alloy (Not simple brass like some copies).
Our design also provides support for the overhung teeth, this also provides additional press fit area to keep the bushing in place.
We see many of the copy designs that are manufactured as our patent pending design is.
We also see the DIY designs come out of the gear as there is not enough press fit on these designs.
We also tried to offer a Do It Yourself option, but could not get aconsistentproper fit with enough press fit to keep the bushing in place, so we decided against this and continue to offer ouroriginaldesign.
We continue to see several of competitor DIY press in bushings fail and come out of the gear as the press fit is not proper to keep the bushing in the gear.
If you have one of these DIY bushings and have this condition, we offer a significant discount to upgrade to our DMC design.
NOTE: Our DMC gear / bushing solution allows you to retain your reverse function.
Link to installation instructions below.
Note: We have seen a few top gear bushings in some machines that are ridden in a less aggressive way, are not boosted, not studded, etc and the bushing has lasted a few thousand miles. But we have also seen a disproportionatemajority of top gears on sleds that are boosted, studded, and or ridden aggressivelythat have failed and either ruined a expensive trip or left the sled disabled in the trail or both.
